    It wasn't that long ago we were all arguing and divided about politics! But when we really need to, we put our differences aside and help each other! I can't put into words how damn proud I am of my Country and ALL the wonderful folks who live here!!

    I just wanted to thanks today's Corpsmen....both men and women. I served from 1971-75 at NAV HOSP, Charleston SC. I appreciate all that I learned....both as a follower and as a leader. It helped set the stage for the rest of my life and I am very thankful for that. I was fortunate enough to become a USAF Officer and finally after moving back to Alaska in 1995, I joined the Army Guard and retired as a Colonel. It all began with the USN! Again, thank you all in Navy Medicine for what you do and for being there for us all!! Be careful and STAY STRONG. Steve

    It makes me wish I went to school for medicine, because I would have joined the Navy to serve on a hospital ship.

    Was on the USS MARS AFS1 (decommissioned) home port Naval Supply Center Oakland, CA from 1986-1990. I had a chance to take a tour of the Mercy when she was tied up near us at the supply center....memories....I live in Los Angeles, and now she's down here helping during this pandemic. I wish that I could visit. USN (12YRS)...US Army (12YRS)

    For some reason his scrub has the Chinese characters "呼吸治疗师" written on it, which means "Respiratory Therapist"... the corona virus causes severe pneumonia and it came from China, but this was filmed in 2014, my space-time continuum is broken....

    • @peternotarfrancesco2614
      @peternotarfrancesco2614 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      They were probably in an Chinese think Taiwan area , and having a dual language badge was a courtesy to the locals who might not read English

    • @terranrepublic7023
      @terranrepublic7023 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@peternotarfrancesco2614 Well, the Chinese for "呼吸治疗师" is written in Simplified Chinese, a form of Chinese used only by Mainland China (Communist ruled) and Singapore. While the Traditional Chinese, the form used by Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau would be written as "呼吸治療師", some minor difference than the Simplified one, but to them it's of utmost political matter (since both Taiwan and Mainland China claim legitimacy in ruling over China as a whole country), so if the ship was in Taiwan, I'm sure they would have written this word in Traditional Chinese, instead of the Simplified one. Thus Taiwan can be ruled out. But what is a USNS ship doing in Mainland China? Unless they were holding a joint exercise with Singapore, but most if not everyone in Singapore already read English since that's their official language, so it's redundant to put it in Chinese too just to appease their Chinese demographic? Hmmm

    We need more Hospital Ships like the Mercy (suggest SS United States Cruise Ship) and less Aircraft Carriers.

      The Mercy and Comfort sit on the pier more then they get under way. Why the hell would they build more. You do realize that a carrier has a full surgical compliment.

    In Russia, a platoon of chemical and biological protection with military doctors, medicines and equipment will immediately arrive on the ship, and everything will be done clearly. This useless captain showed his incompetence. What a fun show for the whole world, isn't it? America's shame is always ridiculous. It's karma.
