  • The USS James E Williams carries a fearsome arsenal of firepower, including Tomahawk cruise missiles, air-launched torpedoes and anti-ship missiles.
With four gas turbine engines, it can reach speeds of up to 30 knots. The US Navy destroyer also has 360° vision, which enables it to track up to 800 targets more than 200 miles away.
Forces News gained exclusive access to the ship as it kept watch over sea lanes and Nato's adversaries in the Mediterranean as part of the alliance's multi-national task group in the region.

Did an Artic cruise up near the north pole, the Med cruise, and a 3 month GITMO workup. Got out just when Desert Storm was brewing up. But the Med cruise was my favorite. actually this clas from the americans they wanted a newer hull shape but that zumwalt never passed the test... now this class feel very important of a sudden so they have a sort of stealthed top half, as usuall all the US gear will be top notch, but the hull is the same as from 1991.... much like an F-15 also it will probabally get the job done

@@ThinBlueLineGuardian yes, that was before my time, but members of that crew were at the reunion I attended in Louisville in 2007. They enjoyed watching the video the chaplain had shot of the ships last deployment that included the visits with the Russians. Me and another guy caught up with the ship anchored of Bahrain. We probably weren't expected so that's why we didn't have racks when we reporting aboard just in time to experience Desert Shield/Storm. It later on did a big drug bust off the coast of Mexico with another C.O.

Excellent video. Love the tin cans, although I never served on one. The story of the defenders of Taffy 3 is nearly unbelievable, but is characteristic of what these little bulldogs and their crews will do. Check it out some time. I was just watching a show about the _HMS Queen Elizabeth_ on deployment, accompanied by the _USS The Sullivans._ A Russian frigate was harassing the QE until _The Sullivans_ slid up between them and the Russkies beat feet. God bless our Navy!

I got a bunch of big Howitzer size shells casing. That my uncle gave me I haven't melt them down nor use them for any thing as of YET > Just keeping them the way they are > there just so many things a person can make out of them > Example brass beer mugs

Nice to to see the USN on duty, a really good film. I do wonder in theses days of the collaboration of military duties across the globe, that the Turks would actually stay and not go to Russia or the enemy!?
