I don't have either but looking at the pics the connection type looks exactly the same. Either way if you need to buy connectors to match, the actual antenna will work once connected (~915MHz for US)
They have a planned halving to reduce the supply. It probably won’t be good unless the price doubles to compensate or you really believe in the project long term
Do you not need to ground the antenna, like a an old TV antenna? I would imagine otherwise a lightening strike gets directed straight into you home through the coax cable when using non-conductive pvc and concrete for the post.

@@Iranolaschools It will always need a power source indoor or out, and yes it will always need a wifi connection either way. With outdoor there are less obstacles so the signals are stronger and you can get more rewards. Whether you want to put them indoor or out, it's up to you about what would be easier to setup honestly
If its still shaking, try adding sand or small gravel to the bottom 1/3 of ur PVC mast, and maybe some tag lines(always 3 minimum) , luck and cheers! Putting mine up this week! But I have Roof access and live on one of the taller hills in my area...hurry up and wait, as they say

I watched a guy who stated that a 3 dbi antenna broadcast like an umbrella so it will go over and around buildings and a 8 dbi or higher basically cast out a flat signal. Any info on this and if it’s true. Does This antenna you have broadcast like an umbrella. I would really like to rewatch out 2-5 miles
This is Omni directional so it is basically a radial signal. The yagi is the single directional one that I think you’re talking about. So long as it’s Omni directional it will be like a circle around you but the less dbi the less powerful

I’m not sure we’ll do a video review of the antenna but we’re going to put our results in here as they come. We haven’t gotten good data points thus far since the network has been slow for everyone so once it speeds back up we’re going to add our results in a pinned comment
So its not worth me getting a hotspot if there no other hot near me? The closes hotspot near me is about 1.6 miles away but i notice that hot spot hasn't gotten much rewards. There's a few other hotspot but those range 3 miles - 8 miles away from me. Based in the info the site gives me the one that collects a good amount of reward is the one 8 miles away sadly.
I"m in the middle of ohio and have mined about $2 in 3 days. 1 hotspot within 50 miles of me. I'm looking into extending the range if possible. right now you don have to have any witnesses to mine as far as i know. just expanding the network in general is enough to earn. I am seeing that others in more populated areas are earning a higher rate.

With the halving Aug 1,2021 the result will be similar to Bitcoin and price will march upwards. I predict $50 a coin before end of the year easy. In the cryptocurrency world Helium is a very special coin as advanced traders know.

Helium recommends only installing 1 miner in a single location (should be separated by about 300m for most effectiveness), otherwise they compete with each other and don’t do as well
Could you of got on your roof and clamped it on a vent pipe? Also,instead of gluing the pipe run 3-4 small screws in to the jointed pieces.That way you can easily disassemble it.

Not sure on that one, I'd throw that out there in the Helium Discord group someone would know. My guess is yes unless there is some software restriction
If you build another, just put the pvc pipe into the bucket and pour the concrete mix into the bucket around the outside of the pipe. Then pour your water on top and let it soak into the mix. No mixing required. Works best with fast-setting concrete mix. Called dry setting and is how fences are typically built.
Hmmmm. I may be wrong but I thought HNT mining operated on the basis of being witnessed by other miners and not your own miner witnessing others. So even though you have a strong antenna, you won't make much difference if the other miners can't witness/reach yours.
Witnessing validates the authenticity of the transaction so you get rewarded for witnessing the transaction. You also get rewarded for others witnessing yours when you send PoC but that is much less reward
@@aboudhd Like a regular wallet transfer, you can to it from the helium app and transfer to you helium wallet address that comes from binance, just like any crypto wallet transfer

I have a better solution for you. Use extension vertical pipe used for pipe and base set ups and then you’ll be able to quickly set up why your need. For weight you can use p-gravel within a bucket 🪣. Less time for set up and extendable. Same concept is using a pool basket extension pole mounted to a base. Food for thought and I like your ideas

Yes it is rated for the outdoors so it should be able to handle rain

Yep, that's exactly what we did with a 15 foot cable, though ideally it would be shorter than that

What kind of cable did you use, 30 ft is the max
The manufacturer of the antenna recommended 5m be the max and that’s what we used. But the shorter the better

AFAIK the antenna makes more of a difference than the miner, so I would focus more on the antenna setup and try to get a strong one

Depends on your setup but we witnessed someone like 7 miles away so that’s our furthest
