- Colin McRae had a fantastic run at the ESPN X Games 12 in Los Angeles. He made massive jumps when entering the arena and in the last run of the innaugural rally events at the X-Games rolled his car. And what is even more amazing, his car rolled back on its tires and he was still able to complete the race and seized the silver. He could have easily won the gold if he hadn't rolled his car.
He basically got the gold. He had the extra time to roll the car and then limp to the finish and STILL place 2nd, losing only by half a second. Amazing driving, and some of the tightest cornering I've ever seen.

I'm 36 years old I still remember being here and seeing this in person
must have been some pop from the crowd.
Never has the “No fear” branding been more appropriate.
Hearing Nicky Grist explain it, as soon as he realized they were rolling, he thought "we should end up back on our wheels"...and then he said "Colin must have been thinking the same thing because as we were going over I heard the clunk back into gear and he was on the rev limiter before we were done rolling".

May had lost but it doesn’t matter. What he did won audience behind him.
Only difference is .21 milliseconds . He actually won gold.

The greatest second place ever!
Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.
What’s even better about this is he was given the race notes to use and are not his or Nicky’s pace notes so he could not go flat out as he would have liked.
