This is an insightful interview. I'm glad that Donnie was able to rise above a lot of the self-destructive rock-star behavior. I still play "Strength" on occasion and think it is a brilliant record. I'm still sad that Derek passed away so young. He was enormously talented. I saw Enuff Znuff after Derek and they didn't have that same spark. I'm glad he and Donnie got together before Derek died and it is a shame how things turned out but it is good that they were able to get some closure.
I saw them in Jacksonville Florida, at the pavilion by the St. JOHNS RIVER...back in 2000 I THINK!! Absolutely amazing and gotta high 5ive fron Donnie! Vick Foxx was still playing with them and without him and Derek, it's just not the same. Been a fan since 1989.......
Really enjoyed listening to Donnie talk and give his perspective. I like when he said bands used to try to record what they played and today they are trying to play what they record. Also, surprised he said he had anxiety issues. He didn’t sound anxious at all. Great interview. Interesting stories. Thank you for this!
I love this band. Been a fan since the very beginning. Have seen whatever version is on tour at the time 27 times and will catch Chips band again in July. However, stop whining about being lumped into a certain genre of a genre. EZN wore more make-up than any other band..... Any other band. They chose to put it on. They chose to tour with the bands they toured with. They are that 'type' rock. Motley Crue and Poison and Cinderella and Dokken and Whitesnake are the same bands. Their music isn't the exact same. A fan of 1 of these bands will talk trash about another. However, in the overall output, the music is very similar. The point is, stop saying you'd be bigger if you weren't lumped with these type bands. It's only because you were lumped in that you got any play at all. This is coming from a true lifelong fan that can be completely honest.
He would prolly be dead if he was bigger. More money, more problems...everything happens for a reason. Glad he's still here singing and playing what he loves.
That type/style of guitarist that also has a natural musical talent is exactly what puts the enuff-z-nuff songs over the top and it is magical, way way over the top. I still jam anything with derik on it and adjust the sound to bring the guitar more up front. If donnie vie wants some popularity once more, that is what your amazing song writing talent needs, the electric blues lightening mixed through it.
Why don't he put the womans make up back on and now maybe wear a dress and perform on the internet. It might be the best time where he could build a huge following. I wish him the best.
Great Song 🎵 Writer❤
Rock On Donnie Vie!!! Keep Writing too PLEASE!!!

It's hard to believe donnie has these fears and anxiety because watching his older shows all you see is confidence and cool .
Too many quotes of centuries 🤣 Keep it going Donnie💪
Temptation on the road or just doing a local gig is, and always will be a gamble not worth taking with sobriety
