Yes! Why only 560 views? This is simple and straight to the point every school teacher should watch this only goes for six minutes and will change the way they teach dyslexic children and not waste their high school year’s.

      Thank you so much! ❤
That's such wonderful (and motivating) feedback. You have no idea how much it means.
Looking at it from a distance though, and taking your question in all seriousness, I don't get that many views (I have a few videos in the low-to-mid thousands of views, but mainly in the mid-hundreds) for a few reasons:
(forgive the long wordy answer, it might be inappropriate on a dyslexia channel!)
🔹First, I'm not much of a film professional - the sound and video quality might not be that great.
🔹Second, I don't do the whole "quick edit / fun / whacky TikTok friendly / fast talking cuts" thing that gets a lot of people a lot of views.
🔹Third, I started off doing these as part of an education vlog rather than as anything more widespread, and I think that naturally, that appeals to a smaller section of TH-cam viewers.
🔹One other thing though - there's another dyslexia-related channel I've occasionally watched. It was a quite well-made version of my channel, in terms of sound, video, editing, etc, but fairly similar in the kinds of things it talked about. It didn't (doesn't) have a particularly memorable name, and sometimes talked about things that a lot of people "don't buy" so much anymore ("visual learners / kinaesthetic learners / learner-types", some outdated pseudo-science notions that used to float around Twitter, that sort of thing), but in general it's an enjoyable, watchable, and informative channel. It used to get fewer views than mine, then suddenly, almost overnight, it went from the low-to-mid hundreds of views per video, to the thousands and tens of thousands per video. It may have been that this channel was suddenly "discovered", but more likely, it was monetised and views were either paid for or it paid TH-cam to appear higher in engine searches than other channels.
I don't have a problem with that, good luck to them: they're quite good and I applaud people (like them) who raise awareness; but I've never done this to monetise, and so I guess it's less likely that I'll ever have those millions of hits.
      Fame eludes me! 😶‍🌫

Your post rang true for me on all six areas you placed on the board, terrible in school as most dyslexics tend to be, but can say I use all my advantages in designing houses.

It is more impressive to refer to where these things are evidenced , not just say “there is a wealth” of , or “tend to be”

I'll remember that when I'm trying to be impressive.

I dont get the advantedages with deslexia? I almost failed 7th grade because of deslexia

Hi Shreki, thank you for your comment.
I think I'd answer you in three ways:
First, I want to acknowledge the struggles you've faced. I was the same. I failed (almost) everything at school. Not even "C" grades - "D"s, "E"s, "F"s, and so many "U"s (ungraded) I couldn't count them. Yes, you're absolutely right, being dyslexic can be hard. So many of us fail school.
Second, I'll answer your question "indirectly". You say you almost failed 7th grade because of dyslexia. But I failed everything, being dyslexic. And I was kept back, and failed it all again. And then I dropped out. But this week I graduated with my PhD. Had I become "more clever" in the intervening years? - No, I'd just found learning that worked.
In other words, it's not that "I failed" at school, it's that "the educators failed me". And that's what's probably happened with you: your education system and the educators working in it have failed you.
Third, I'll answer your question "directly". Yes, you're right, there are what can best be described as negatives to being dyslexic, and these negatives are often just those things we're tested on at school! But there are *ALSO* advantages, it's just finding an environment which allows you to show them.
There's tons of evidence (anecdotal, empirical, scientific...) that dyslexics are far more creative than non-dyslexics, have better interpersonal communication skills, have better visualisation capabilities, and have more of a capacity for "big picture / holistic thinking".
If only our education system allowed us to show that. But it doesn't. In fact, there's evidence that shows it "beats the creativity out of children" as they go through school.
      😟

@@DyslexiaBytes Oh. Im in 8th grade currently so some this didnt make a whole lot of sense but I get the point.anecdotal, empirical interpersonal I have no idea waht those mean or how to say them..

@@Maria-____ I'm so sorry, that was stupid of me. I just went off on one and didn't think.
What I mean is that there's evidence from what people say, there's evidence that "a lot of people show these skills", and there's evidence from social experiments and even brain imaging.
In other words, while school beats the fight out of you, it's their fault not yours. School was traumatic for me, really hard, and it turned what people call "the best years" of my life into torture. I still look back on it and shiver!

I'm sorry if that's too much information! You don't have to investigate it all, but it's there to give you an idea of the stuff that's out there if you'd like to do some exploring. Good luck! ❤

Hey SingingPerson. Just following up. How's school going? Have you spoken to your teachers and did they give you what you needed?
