I had the biggest crush on these guys back then as did all my friends ,they were the best. I showed this skit to my grand kids and they laughed as hard as i did goes to show ya good comedy never gets old.. Thanks for sharing oh what memories the 70s were the best decade in my book !
Me too. They lived up the street from me. I went to Cleveland High School and they had gone there previously. I was a little younger than them. Our music teacher Mr Johnson knew Mark because he was in choir. They were all cute.

There is a reporter on the local NPR station with the name "Margolis". Whenever they say it, I have to say it back in the way they did on the show. Quite unnerving to passengers. :)

Same here! It was at the end of the awesome cartoon lineup on Saturday morning and I never missed it. Once Hudson Brothers was over the TV got turned off and I went out to play with my friends. They really had that innocent oddball comedy formula down, much like The Monkees before them.
Man it still holds up..god they were funny.

LOLOL...oh man I Loved Chucky Margolis!!....This show was so much fun to watch...man I miss the 70s
I saw in an interview, that they only shot one Chucky skit for the first show, and that was it. They finished filming the shows, before the first one aired. The skit went over so big, they had to go back and shoot more, to be inserted into the other episodes. Always loved Chucky.

Oh man the Hudson Brothers summer show was golden and it seemed inappropriate to me that they were relegated to Saturday morning after the very successful run of this show. Chucky, Rod Hull and Emu....so much fun. And guess what else? They were awesome musicians who wrote and performed great music.....it's too bad they weren't taken more seriously for their music just because they did comedy too. Why did Tony Orlando and Dawn get a fall show and not these guys? Thanks for posting. Awesome memories for me.

This bit was on a Hudson Brothers record I had as a kid.
I thought that the Hudson Brothers were pretty good for a summer replacement show, but I mostly watched the show for this segment.
I guess the apple didn't fall far from the tree, the Hudson kids got a healthy of dose of comedy chops from the Hudson-Hawn families.
Goldie Hawn dated Warren Beatty, but married Bill Hudson and had daughter Kate with him. Picture-perfect handsome is ok, but cute, funny and musically talented wins the damsel's heart in any Pepsi challenge.
I used to do a whole puppet show based on this skit when I was in grade 4.

I don't know which one by name, but it was one of the three Hudson Brothers (Bill Hudson, Brett Hudson, Mark Hudson).
Brett played Chucky. Mark played Alan.
Brett Hudson was Chucky, Mark was Alan and Bill is the only one who can talk with Chucky.

Only funny thing is about this show there Haircut.
I like their haircut. Nowadays everyone shaves it off or has some sticking up in the middle. I like to run my fingers through real hair, not someone's bald scalp.
They were so much better at being funny than singing.
I thought they sang very well. Actually Mark has been writing music for years for other artists including Ozzie Osbourne.

This is the worst shit I've ever seen in my life. I watched this show with my mom when I was 6-7, but couldn't remember it clearly. It's almost hard to believe how terrible this was
