Rafa was the greatest rival of the other two greatest players In my opinion, he demonstrated/showed Federer how to lose with grace and work to improve & Novak how to fight longer/harder and improve mental and physical efforts Mid 2000s, Federer was perceived and likely believed no one could compete with him. This was the period when Federer was dominating names like Roddick and Hewitt. Rafa showed up and went toe to toe and forced him to acknowledge greatness in his new rival and improve his game. Djokovic early in his career was known as a guy who didn’t try hard, literally retired midmatch often. Nadal showed him what it looked like to truly fight for every point. Showed him both the reward and the commitment. If he wanted to compete with Roger and Nadal on the biggest stages, he needed to work harder, fight more, focus always. The rest is history. End of an incredible era. Great trio
Another Jannik milestone casually ignored: Only players over 11,000 points. He still may clear Andy for spot #4: Pete Sampras - 11,005 points. ... Jannik Sinner - 11,920 points. ... Andy Murray - 12,685. ... Rafael Nadal - 15,390. ... Roger Federer - 15,903. ... Novak Djokovic - 16,950
@@Paolofsarno12 There are many others Paolo. You can find numerous obvious examples on this podcast and others produced by the same outlet, of their dismissiveness towards Sinner’s very significant achievements, and their effort to diminish him as a player. Mostly they do it in comparison to Carlos, when they should be applauding in a fair manner both magnificent young players who are the only ones buoying this sport when the goats retire. Instead as they read our minds, they assure us all that who we really want to watch is Nick Kyrios, someone most tennis fans would prefer to see tossed out of the sport. If he is in the AO, I hope he is eliminated in the first round by a qualifier. He does not merit to stand on the same court at the same time as Carlos and Jannik. It’s quite sad that they prefer a clown show to great tennis at the same time that they pose as tennis connoisseurs. Extremely disappointing to say the least. But I digress..
14 Rolland Garroses in a field that has produced 5 talented players over the course of 20 years. We get more talent every year now compared to the "small 97 era"
Alcaraz played an ex player like nadal and Rune in bad gorm while sinner had to face Medvedev and Djokovic: how fair is that??. Alcaraz is much fresher so is favorite but is not right.
How does Tennis Channel square outrage over the Saudi WTA tournament, but think Kyrios is great for the drama? Is his misogyny and abuse towards women more palatable than Saudi misogyny? 🤔puzzling….
when novak says that sinner reminds him of himself when he was younger its really not true because Sinner doesnt have balls falling out of is pocket at a crucial moment in the game .
gill is da 🐐
Strange seeing Gill in profile there lol
Yes…he is. 🐐
Gill is the BEST!!

Weird they ignored that key point. I agree.

Gill and Mitchell great discussion about Sinner, Novak Rafa Saba Carlos Mahach and Quinwen. Agree with your take
Why do you guys not put time stamps on your pod casts.

GUYS, in China, “Qi” is pronounced “Chee”
Qin = Chin
Here for this.
Tennis will never be the same... unless Rafa son follows his dad..😊
GROSS!

You must be Italian🤣
No one willing still to admit sinner screwed up the entire season for everyone else
Nadals time has been up for a while. Its been rather painful seeing him play. Shoulve retired sooner IMO.

Yawn
