Had a similar scenario in my ‘91 TLC- couldn’t hurt keep an extra fusible link in vehicle.
And jb weld (the dual tube one) works wonders-it helped my radiator limp out of a desert, national park one time.
Great video and thanks for sharing!

Jake I bought a 2000 Toyota Land Cruiser a few years ago after watching your videos on your previous Land Cruiser and I remember your video on changing the heater Ts. So every other day I would open the hood and inspect them and lo-and-hold one day they were wet with coolant so I changed them just as you taught us in your video and everything was fine! This was years ago before the LC got totaled by Hurricane Ian in Florida. Love your videos and keep up the good work!!!!

I'm glad I found this. Thanks for sharing man. I have a 2010 Tundra Crewmax 5.7 w/211k miles on it and just went through this same clicking sound. We had a hurricane hit last week in Houston ...truck worked fine driving through heavy rain. Tried to start it Saturday morning and "click". Disconnected the battery, changed out the ignition fuses, it worked. Drove it to work, it wouldn't start again. Click, click, click. I disconnected my winch from the battery thinking that had shorted something with all the rain. It worked. It wouldn't start again Sunday morning on the FIRST try, then on the second it did. I let it run, plugged in my computer to check the alternator and battery...all good. Finally just drove it to O'Reilly and had my starter tested. Of course it would start both times for the employee who said starter seems to be good. I went ahead and changed out the relay like you did, and so far, no more problems! I'm hoping this is it, because right before your video, I saw how hard it is to change out the starter on your own! Thanks again, brother!

Would you believe that my 2010 Tundra Crewmax 5.7 just started doing this at 213K miles?? I think we found the life span of this part. Replaced the relay, hoping it continues to work. It’s very intermittent so we shall see.

I have to say a massive thanks.
My 2002 LX470 had a click and that's it. A few years ago I replaced the starter motor as it went bad so I know how hard that is.
I was afraid to do it al over again, but luckily your video showed me that it was the starter relay.
And the same thing, put it back in and the car starts.

BRO! First of all I just want to say I know NOTHING about cars.. I’m in the middle of nowhere camping and my 04 tundra would just click when trying to start it.. I’ve been able to jump it (after having a guy wait 10 min helping me) but it still did the same after running it at 65 for a half hour.. That’s when I thought was the starter just like you said.. They want $600 to 850 to replace after looking online.. I’m broke just winging it across the country.. I just bought a cheap battery so I know it wasn’t the battery.. I watched another video and all the signs pointed to the starter.. I was practically in tears wondering what I was going to do.. So I just went online to look at failing starter videos to see if I could figure it out and came across your video.. I went and looked and found that fuse thing and just worked it out with a screw driver.. I don’t have wire to test it like you did, and it’s midnight so I just blew on it for luck and put it back in.. MY TRUCK STARTED RIGHT UP!!! YOU ARE A GOD! THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH! I can’t thank you enough.. You saved my ass! But, I do have a question, should I buy another ‘relay’ thingy and how much do you think they are? Thank you for posting this video, it really means the world to me.. Jason from California,in the middle of nowhere in Minnesota..

Thanks man! My 2003 Tacoma was firing up fine and running great after I put new ignition coils plugs and wires on it. I put a code reader on it to clear the check engine light then all of a sudden alls I got was a click. I literally just fired up the truck 20 minutes prior

I'm going to try this trick tomorrow. This is exactly the same problem I had. My heater "T" blow out and few days ago. I was less than a mile from advance auto. Got the "T". Had my tools. Easy to get. It was very hard pushing the water pipes onto the new "T" but we got it. Refilled antifreeze. I always keep an eye on my gages. Was going to pick up food. Heat needle went up. Pulled store. relieved water pressure. added antifreeze. Then It would click and not start. Will see tomorrow. thanks

So my sequoia did this a few days ago. Went and replaced the starter (the bearing retainer was falling out) new starter and batter in and I went to start it and CLICK*. I turned the key once or twice more and it turned over and started. Drove around got it warmed up parked it and started it about 5 times repeatedly with no issue. Could be because it’s been really cold here and cold starts might be tough on it.

Make sure that all you did was move the connection underneath the relay. That’s the intermittent condition you need to fix. It’s the connections underneath the relay socket-it’s the socket wires. Resolver or replace relay socket housing
