The Gilbert Godfried comment he made is in reference to an old safety commercial from the 80's or 90's where Gilbert voiced a talking fire detector (shown during this video when Zach talked about how the detector started yelling at him).

5:22 reminds me of that Tumblr post where OP would help her dorm roommate learn the Brazilian states and their capitals and every time they got it right she'd give them an M&M.
One day she was hanging out with her friends at her place, eating M&M's and the roommate came in, saw it and started naming the capitals, getting frustrated when he wasn't getting the M&M's and eventually started naming random South American cities in desparation, and the OP was horrified to discover she did Pavlovian training on her roommate...

You can tell someone is an engineer/tech if they are talking at inanimate, especially electronic, objects as if they are children or pets.
Nothing beats seeing a grown intelligent adult baby-talk to a machine they work with because they can't troubleshoot it.

Kip mentioning the 10 hours of silence occasionally interrupted by falling metal pipe sound effect
Me thinking he would mention the 10 hours of They're taking the Hobbits to Isengard

On the topic of optical media wearing out: It is not magnetized, it has a thin storage material layer where lasers make small dimples to represent 1s and 0s then they use lower intensity laser to read them. The storage layer just degrades over time and breaks down wiping those dimples an with it the data. (mostly due to moisture)

Wii us are a bit special in this case, because if you dont power them on for like 6 years or something like that, the internal memory just dies.

Yeah, I heard the Wii U was having issues with not being plugged in. Especially since the eShop is now down. It's a rough situation.

Iirc the comments said that the problem was the fire alarm he had probably used a strip of reactive material to detect smoke and carbon monoxide, and those ones can start giving false positives after a few years.

Another title for this would be, Poison Gas 2: Electric Boogaloo

I got a smoke alarm in my bedroom with a 10 year battery and after 5 years it started beeping. So annoying, I gotta replace that one but getting a electrician to replace them is nearly impossible since they seem to be all fully booked out. So I'm pressing the stupid button on it every 12h to shut it up :(.

I’d rather just get rid of the fire alarm altogether, because I know that there is no chance of a fire if I turned everything off and unplug certain appliances. The only time when you have to put it back is when you’re about to sell the place.

@malachai1381 The last couple of Campfire Stories reactions didn't do too well. I reached out to mikeburnfire via email and they seemed a little hesitatant on reactions. It's why I'm spacing them out so much.

Can you please react to Mandaloregaming’s recent review of The Thing Remastered? It’s incredibly interesting.
Since you tend to only react to Mandaloregaming’s Dead Space related content, this is definitely worth watching because The Thing was very clearly an inspiration for Dead Space.

I'm sorry, I love Mandalore Gaming but I don't have a lot to comment on for a lot of the games he reviews. I just haven't played those games. The reactions also don't really do well. I'm swamped with requests and honestly burnt out on reactions.
