I think I have committed at least 15 of the 7 deadly sins, watching this. Auuuugh, soooo beautiful! And the VF1000R, Interceptor, RC51...sigh. Props to you man!
Man! You do Amazing work! I have a 93’ in the black/red/silver scheme. I have neither the patience nor skill level you have achieved. You sir, are the Honda Super Bike Master…. Truly amazing!
The states never received that paint scheme that’s a shame it’s so classic Honda. You can see all the hard work you put into it. It’s absolutely beautiful.
Hi, you're a killer !!!!!!!!!!!! Great, great job. I didn't think the bike I bought was so ugly. But now it's like OEM with a little dust spot for originality (like Cindy :-) )
Absolutely fantastic.. I am in the process of restoring back to as close to new my ‘99 SC33.. I managed to find some oh so difficult to find oe fairing panels that haven’t been cracked, plastic welded, badly sprayed, scratched or covered in dubious stickers.. Literally also just bought some oe Honda bar grips too.. that win feeling👌🏼 Love your VF1000R too.. I had a VF400F & VF500FII back in the day.. V4 power
When working without OEM decals I prefer to clearcoat... you don't want non weather resistant vinyl (especially if printed on) exposed to the elements. I used to spray bikes for a living in the late 90's and always used to clear the hell out of everything so didn't give it a second thought.
Beautiful restoration! Just finished restoring my VTR1000 SP-1. On the look-out for a first year FireBlade now, i have a black/grey 1992 in the scope, its done 65000km and could use some TLC. These are such classics now, so i should pull the trigger really ;)
Hey Thomas, I got it from a guy in Bulgaria that sells 'em on Ebay. He's got full sets for each year and color scheme, SC28 and SC33. Stick "Honda CBR 900RR Fireblade decals set sc28" in ebay and it'll come up.
Did you end up rebuilding the rear shock or just replacing it? I've been looking for resources on rebuilding the rear shock for my sc28 and haven't had a lot of luck finding any
Love it ❤ I also have black RR-N which I'm getting back to original. It's already almost 100k km driven but still technically in good condition. It's fairings also need new decals and those look really good, couldn't find H to the O with google, could you point me to the correct direction?
Awesome sauce! Stick this in ebay and it should show up “CBR 900RR Fireblade 1992 full decals set sc28 stickers graphics 893 pattern logo” It’s a guy in Bulgaria. Note that these don’t have the same shading as the OEM decals, only solid color.
Did the engine need no TLC? It was fine and still had many miles left? Thanks. Thinking of taking on one of these labors of love myself. Just concerned about the motor I might get with the bike.
Wuaaaaaau!!! 👌👌👌
I just traveled 2000 miles to pick up a good cbr900 candidate for minor restoration. My question is, how can you determine what decal/color scheme the bike originally came with and what combinations were exclusive to European or North American markets? There seem to be so many. Why does the red black color scheme available in 1996 seem to offer both a white or all black tail? That is literally the only difference. So many questions!!
Nice video's and awesome work on the motorbikes, personally i like the fireblades a lot 🙂... question how high is your work ramp/bench ? I'm gonna make also one.
@@counter-steer thanks, i’m going to make something like it. And like you mention. Storage is always important. Already 5 bikes cosy next to eachother 😆😄. Always looking forward to new video’s. 👍
The trilogy impressed me! Such skillful editing and even better mechanical work. The SC28 is soooo beautiful. I wish I had the skills, time and money to do the same. I only have the RC36/1. I am sure you have been asked this question many times before, but how much money did you sink into that Honda? Again, its beeeeaaaautiiiful! I will watch the RC51 video now. Greetings from Berlin!
Thanks Chriss, appreciate it! I refuse to count the money (and time) spent on my bikes, I’m pretty sure that would take the fun out of it ;) A man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do, you only live once & besides, I’ll never sell it. I love the 1st gen RC36, great bikes… maybe one day. Need more space! Say “hi” to Berlin for me, I haven’t been there in 20 years but have fond memories as a kid. Hmmmm the smell of auspuff ;)
@@counter-steer hahaha! The smell of Auspuff :-D And I thought that you can smell burned gas anywhere else in the world. Well. Berlin IS a special place! HAHA! Maybe you are right. Counting money and time does take the fun out of it. I might just have to convince my wife to let me buy a SC28. Greetings from Berlin again :-))
@@counter-steer thanks for the update. M motorcycles is going to do my paint. Plastics are in good shape and all original. I'll reach out once it's done. I've got an F2 from 93 in same red white blue. Matching set
Man, I have a 98' 919. The bike has loads of potential and runs like a beast. Wish I had the skills or either the $$ to get mine redone. How much would a restore run. By the way... Monumental job, bro. You gotta live it to get those results.
Exacto Mundo dude... labour of love. 919 should be much cheaper to rebuild with parts more easily available. Can't really say I like to keep track of the $100 dollar bills I had to smoke to get her shiny again, that would make it much less fun. More than the bike cost me to buy, that's for sure.
Man, thank you for your reply. I really want to do the rebuild myself but I have never done this before. You are inspiring , bro. If I send pics of the bike, can you at least give me some pointers. Where do you live and how can I contact you.
I don’t get it ? you do all that work then you take your bike for a ride with a $3 dollar keychain flapping around and scratching the $300 triple clamp 🤦🏻♂️
More like a $5 keychain... with a leather back and gel-coated emblem on the other side. Learned not to put crap on my keychains when I was 13. That guns 'n roses metal scull sure was 'purdy though.
Yes.... I mean just yes, yes, yes ..... Consider my cap doffed in your general direction sir. The details are beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
Much obliged sir! Stay tuned for more magical, mechanical monkey beeswax.
WELL DONE U DID A GREAT JOB THAT MODEL BLACK AND GREY FIREBLADE IS THE NICEST ONE. COOL LOOKING MACHINE IN BLACK👍

perfection! I had the same model in the same colour and loved it so much! Thank you for restoring it back to its former glory!
Awesome man! All time favorite for sure...
Just caught up with your video on the awesome fireblade. Superb job.
Thanks man, working on some more stuffs as we speak!
Honda sure made some sexy ass bikes back in the day. Rc51, cbr 929, 954 fireblades were way before their time.

Thanks! Yeah, we were lucky to get the ‘92 up in Canada... I can’t imagine the bike anything but black / silver.
Yeah first year down here 93. I’ve been doing a lot of the white blue and red ones. There really picking up in popularity.
@@counter-steer, we got the same colour scheme here in Oz, except black/bronze instead of black/silver. I managed to pick one up 18months ago.
What a beauty... My man I wish I could piece together a 1st gen CBR.

Amazing work. Looks perfect.

Bloody well done. Just picking up a mint 99 myself from Ontario to AB. Should be getting it by next week!
Awesome like the sauce!
Fantastic job rebuilding that bike and maybe even better job with the editing 😂. I have a white/red/purple '93 sc28 i love dearly.
Thanks bubba! A labour of love for sure. Not that I’ll ever find one but if I see a white one… I’ll probably have to sell a kidney
I like your videos! You're precise and prudent! Amazing work! Gratulation!

Top job 👏👏👏
Very nicely done! 👏 How did you restore the top triple clamp? I have two that need refinishing.
Found a good used one online and just swapped them out... I'm sure it can be done though.
Brilliant restoration well done.

No words to say simple beautiful

you clear coated the decals? would you do that again or just buy gloss decals instead (if available)
