So you strapped a bunch of rocket engines on top of an Electric Lightning, which you strapped on top of a Vulcan and launched it to space. This is the jankiest thing I've ever seen anyone do in Realistic Overhaul... .... And I friggin' love it.
Even if that is what you do when you air launch rocket planes normally. Just skipping the whole, bolting it to another aircraft that you also have to design part.
Ha ha - loved that you and carnasa did an Intercosmos mission. That will show the capitalists that internationalist socialism is the only way forwards!
The first British astronaut in our timeline (Helen Sharman) did ride on a Soviet rocket, but it was in 1991 (after the perestroika reforms and just a few months before the collapse of the USSR).
Beardy did ask me If I was to be sending over Helen Kerman! I unfortunately don't have her as part of my Roster yet though, didn't expect to be doing collaborative missions like this so soon after joining I was saving her for a later date! But she'll definitely be making an appearance at some point :D she was part of a mission to Mir right? I imagine I'll be sending some Kerbals to international space stations at some point :D
That's super cool that you've got a system worked out for rideshare missions. That's something I've never seen done (I think) Also I can imagine the conversation for acquiring the Vulcan and Lightning: _RAF rep enters CSC administrator's office_ "We'd like to purchase a Lightning" "Why?" _Hands over a folder_ "We want to modify a Lightning into a spaceplane" _Rep rifles through folder_ "Uh huh" "Also we'd like to modify a Vulcan into a mobile launch platform for it" _Eyebrow raise_ "That might be a hard sell to Command" "Tell them we'll put a brit on top" _Rep snaps folder shut_ "You'll have your plane by next week"
Shame I couldn't show off the individual suits on the rideshare, as Geoffrey would have had a uk patch on his but ah well, I'll have to try and unlock the required upgrade and maybe send Beardy another Kerbal to launch for me! But yeah with me joining now there's definitely a lot more opportunity for collaboration, which as the series progresses should be really cool :) Also, I absolutely love that :D
I'm greatly enjoying your videos adding to the 'For All Kerbalkind' storyline. I particularly like the music you have chosen. I look forward to your future videos.
Oh, didn’t know this was coming out today! Awesome to see the first international cooperation in FAK :)) congrats to Jeffrey, first British astronaut! (And on somehow surviving that landing🤣)
It was touch and go whether it was going to release today, but yeah! I loved doing the collab mission, definitely going to be many more to come in the future :D
This is brilliant - you have to call one of your kerbonauts "Dan Kerman" or "Dan Dare Kerman". The ability to drink tea in outer space is vital to the UKs space program. More work needs to be done here!
y e s. I stayed up for the release too, and then maybe screwed up my sleeping pattern because of it D: ah well, nice to finally get the episode out haha
My british-style satellite in my career is also named Caliban! I literally went to "Prospero" on wikipedia and chose a random name from the page about the character Prospero
I actually had to look this up because I didn't know about this, I'll certainly be doing some sort of networks, but not sure how much into the dodgy history of it all I'll delve into, but thanks for letting me know about that, was an interesting read :P
18:10 OF COURSE COMRADE, THOSE ROCKET ENGINES ARE VERY WELL TESTED. NO NEED TO WORRY. Sergei kernan, make a note that those dangerously unreliable and highly experimental engines worked good this time.
Looking back, it'd be cool if the commonwealth commision went into development of mostly reusable spacecraft to save on resources and catch up quicker. Though a sufficiently large airlaunch carrier could be a very big initial investment
Yes! Not sure what I'll be using for that yet, but definitely some Ariane style rocket, I've actually already designed Ariane 1-5 (although I'll probably make a few changes along the way) so they'll definitely be seeing use :)
Haha, I've delved into my old music files and dragged out some of the stuff I used for that series to use in this one, because similar vibe and all that :P
Love this series so far. Any plans on using the SPARTA as a cheap lightweight satellite thrower, or building a spaceport in the Cape York Peninsula as an auxiliary launch location like what the Hawke Australian government wanted to do in the 1980s?
This series will continue yes :) Just on hold atm while Beardy is at Uni, I've actually got most of my next couple of episodes all filmed but the collaborative aspect of the series means I can only release when the other guys do! Coming Home redux, I've lost motivation for that right now, I do want to continue it and finish it, but doing it without any drive would lead to rubbish content, probably will look at picking it back up over christmas though!
So I should apologize. I screwed up there. On a different note, I used to live under the flight path of the Concorde in the late 80s/early 90s. God she is pretty
Carnasa, you should totally make the British empire out to be villains, like the commercial. Because all villains have a British accent. That would be hilarious! =D th-cam.com/video/e7gR7EYjcP8/w-d-xo.html
I’m okay :) just been busy with life recently! Uni started again since my last upload, and Christmas is always a super busy time of year for me with multiple family birthdays (and my own!) so haven’t really had the time with anything, diabetes is actually doing better than it’s ever been so all good on that front, but thanks :)
I'm kind of afraid you might be nothing but a political tool for N9 and Beardy. I feel like they'll grab poor Geoffrey by the limbs, asking him to go on their flights, pulling him every which way.
I like that the lunar impact mission is specified as "Uncrewed" which implies the existence of a crewed lunar impact mission.
thats actually been a bit of a meme going around n9 and beardy's discords :P

How do you manage the multiplayer aspect with Beardy and N9? Do you share the save files after you're done or do you use some other method?
So happy to see more from you in this great series~! Looking forward to more installments. 😃
