He plays mostly in same position as Bruno, mount zirksee even. He isn't a winger. Couldn't play all in same team. Wrong profile of player, a Neto would be better. Other priorities before a simons type, not like he is a massive step up on playing staff already at club anyway

Since we probably can't sell Antony, we should convert him to a left-winger so his strong foot (only foot really) is the one that can provide crosses for the strikers. His pace would get him past fullbacks on the outside.

Midfielders a problem but not as big a problem as the backline. We ended up putting midfielders at CB. Amrabat might stay, Mount might actually play, defo need Ugarte, I’d like another one but we haven’t got rid of McTominay yet.

We need wingers guys who cross first and not shoot all the time as mark says. He would be a good striker for us, but other positions need strengthening first.
We have two creative wingers (Sancho, Amad) and two inside forwards (Rashford, Garna) maybe promote one more from the academy for the wings and we're all good.

I thought he showed decent potential for a young CB so I would have loaned him out, I fear that selling him could be a mistake. But maybe he never reaches a level we need a little like Angel Gomes who left us and isn't exactly being praised as a world class player, but just a regular good player. Maybe Kambwala will be the same, a regular alright player.

As much as I love Bruno and I doubt he will leave, we do need to try other players in his position. Too often we were stuck playing him until he was completely run down becausre ETH didn't trust any other player in his position. It could be argued that even Eriksen deserved some game time in that position and we too often end up shoe horning players who are number 10's into other positions to accommodate Bruno. Mount being played on the wing, Eriksen being pushed deeper when we all know he's best attributes are further up. This season we need better rotation in all positions including Bruno's. Its a long season with many competitions and injuries arise and everyone should be rotated.
Why would we spend 60 million on a bench player? Rasmus and Zirzee are fine. That's crazy.

Just keep in mind that Simons was coached and developed by our new assistant coach Ruud at PSV. Additionally, if we need creativity in the squad, Simons makes sense. Backup for Bruno and can play at the wing position.
With how we played at the end of the season and how this transfer window is playing out, I can’t help but see United playing a 4-2-2-2 next season.

"Ambitious" is possibly the wrong way to put some things. Maybe Maguire enjoys being a role model on the team. If you zoom out and look at how he carries himself, he is the perfect example of how to carry yourself at Man UTD. People forget about some of these "Mentor" type players. Maybe he won't be there to start, but he will be there to help anchor the culture. His pay is high for that role but he is one of the top guys that I would want in that position
