If you have a good artistic hand you can do wonders with a little makeup, creativity and ability to make yourself look amazing.
I've seen women and girls with expensive makeup and everything needed and not be able to look okay.
And I've seen girls and women with a couple cosmetics, cheap, and a flair for doing makeup and look fantastic.
What my 13 year old granddaughter does with a bit of mascara, liner and lip color - usually a matte red - look incredible.
While the mother is a bit of trash for what she did to her sweet, disabled little one who was so wanted by family and yet not allowed to help, has nothing to do with being able to make herself look snashing.

Many years ago, I was going to volunteer for this program called CASA in my state of Delaware. I would have basically been an advocate for abused children, going to court with them and similar activities. The woman on the phone told me that to be able to join the program I would have to sign some kind of paper saying that my main focus when it came to the children was returning them to their birth parents. She stressed this over and over and over. I told her I couldn't be a part of that. And I still feel that way today.

Getting the child home when its safe for them to do so is always the goal - until it is decided the parents are not able to care for them. Parents usually have 12-24 months to get their shit together before their rights are permanently terminated. Many times there is no abuse its alot of neglect. Whether parents are unable to provide or have substance abuse issues. Sounds like you were judgemental from the start. Alot of the parents just need support and help. Some are deplorable and dont deserve their kids but not all. Kids in the system have it rough i was in the system from age 11 to 18. In over 50 placements and was dropped off at a homeless shelter when i turned 18. Its a rough life being bounced around knowing nobody genuinely cares about you. Dont wish that on any child. Also causes alot of trauma and mental health issues to be taken away from your parents and siblings. If at all possible kids should be with their biological families and people do deserve a second chance if they put in the work to show they love their kids and will change for them.

To find family of the mother who may want the baby before it’s sent to foster care. Children kept in biological homes fare much better than kids placed in alternative homes.
Besides, statistically, foster care does not help children. That’s not to say they aren’t good ones, because there are, but they’re few and far between.
No criminal charges are ever filed against the mother for abandoning her baby. She’s asked to terminate her rights so the baby is adoptable, and then they reach out to family to see if they want the baby. That’s the only reason any investigation is done afterwards.
Yes, it’s annoying, but it’s done in the best interest of the child in question, which is what the mother would’ve wanted had they dropped off the baby instead of resorting to murder.

@@Nahnah111 in my state they have baby boxes they don't ever look for you unless the baby has signs of abuse. The reason they allow babies but not older children is the fact that babies will almost always get adopted into a home with someone that wants and will care for them. People generally don't want to adopt older kids and they won't bond with them as family as well causing them to be in more danger.

For real - people in the comments are getting their feelings hurt today simply because we enjoyed our time in Detroit. I'm not going to lie - we had the shortest trip ever. There's a direct flight out of Maine that's only an hour and a half, so we went for legit less than 24 hours to see a concert with our friend/Patron, Eddy. I will say, the Delta Terminal is fantastic - as is the hotel at the Delta Terminal. I would have preferred to stay in town, but when you're just there for the night and don't have your own car, it didn't make a ton of sense not to just stay at the airport. We saw Molchat Doma play at the Magic Stick, which was the coolest venue ever - and we had dinner at Modhuban Sweets & Café in Banglatown, which was amazing. With all of this said, I want to spend a week or so there at some point to see it all. Obviously it has it's issues - but like you said, it's recovering. Where can I get the best Coney? I only got to try one at the airport and it was meh.

As for coneys, there is an argument as to whether Lafayette Coney, or American Coney is the best, but they're right next door to each other so you can compare them for yourself. Make sure you also stop by Dearborn for the best Middle Eastern food in the U.S. And maybe some Greek food from Greek Town as well. So much good food.

I moved when our friend got shot in a drive-by while we were hanging out and I decided to go back to school in another state.
Honestly, since you stayed there for less than 24hrs and mostly spent your time at the airport (which isn’t really staying in Detroit imo), you had a wonderful tourist experience :) Hope you get to stay longer and actually immerse yourself next time.

When he got out, he ran directly across the street, where a fire station department was. He was desperate and stole an unattended ambulance and drove himself to the hospital.

Our Children's Protective Services (CPS) program is responsible for investigating allegations of child abuse and neglect. The Michigan Child Protection Law provides the framework for what CPS must do.
      From Michigan.gov
This family was reported to CPS more than once & per the above website it is their charge to investigate reports of Child Abuse & Neglect. I'm aware that as a Government Agency, many are underfunded & understaffed. They cannot be everywhere all of the time. That said NO child should live & die like this little boy did. I'm not a lawyer & can't speak to their legal responsibility for cases of reported Child Abuse & Neglect.

That said when abuse is reported by law CPS is notified & has a legal responsibility to investigate; if abuse or neglect is confirmed, again CPS has the responsibility to remove the children from the home.

The thing is in Michigan you CAN just drop your child off at a hospital or fire department, no questions asked. That law was put into place years ago specifically to stop things like this.
My dad was a Detroit cop, and I've lived in Detroit my whole life. Most people are loving, caring people, but there are issues everywhere.

Between child abuse, child sex trafficking, school shootings, child murders and neglect this world is NO LONGER SAFE FOR ANY CHILDREN TO LIVE IN. For each birth of a child all I think about is how horrific humans have made the earth and it saddens me. Others pregnancies and new babies are NOT joyful to me as all I can think about is one day they could be shot, killed, molested or abused. I REFUSE to have any children because they literally don't have any sort of future based on the state of society. Having children is basically a death sentence in one form or another. Each new baby does NOT stand a chance. There is no future for all the children walking and crawling around. Better to have no kids at this point yet people are so ignorant to the horrors of the world that they think they have a chance to raise a family. Yeh right!

Do it! I’ve worked as a child and youth victim advocate, an anti-violence educator in schools, and did youth programming and child care in a women’s shelter. It didn’t pay great, but it’s some of the most rewarding work I have ever done (teaching kids at risk for Special Ed placement was also rewarding…many were from troubled homes, too, and it was touching, when they confided in me). The CPS workers made more money, but I went to their case consultation and gave more background information on the kids and families. I’m back in school so I can afford to work in the field, long term. I decided not to do the LSW, because of co-workers complaints of having to carry out decisions that were made “over their heads”, but that might change with an MSW. At any rate, I am studying substance abuse counseling. Most of the youth in CD treatment have experienced abuse or other trauma. I really hope you go for it! It is so worth it. I was able to get work in the field with just a general AA degree…there is such a need! You can really change a child’s life, just by expressing your genuine concern and being there for them. You may be the most consistent, nurturing adult presence they have ever known. 💔❤️❤️‍🩹

Thank you so much for covering this story! You guys have become one of my favorite YT channels mainly because it’s clear you will always maintain an unconditional positive regard for children and their families, that makes it so that people understand not to go harass the survivors of families and make them feel ashamed or embarrassed of something ONE family member did. So it’s much appreciated and reliving compared to older channels like CK but I’m not sure if she is back on YT, I heard some channels say she was back! I chose not to check because she just terrified me and made me angry and sad with just about every video she did. When I first started watching her I liked her but I sometimes read down through the comments and I started seeing things other people were saying and it caused me to go back and watch older videos she did and then it was over, she was so horrendous that it made me sick but I watched so that I could keep track of things she had said and then tried to go back on. Those channels need to be held accountable for the disgusting things they do to families who are just trying to make it through a tragedy. I’m not sure if you can see any of her older videos but the things she said about Shanan Watts can never be erased and they were so terrible I actually cried. Sorry this is such a long response but I think I needed to get it off my chest so the channels that operate on trust and respect know to never go down those rabbit holes. 🎀The issue with being a parent with mental health issues, is you get judged harshly and automatically. Nurses, Dr’s e.t.c Automatically presume you can’t look after your children. (Especially if you are black.) So they get Social Services involved and they only care about putting children into care because it’s big business.🎀
🎀I had a neighbour who after her third child went into the worst case of post natal depression. Me and my family would hear her crying late at night, when the children were sleeping. She never had any visitors. No nurse coming to visit her. And one day she snapped, she was arrested and all 3 of her children were placed into care. They weren’t even kept together.🎀

I have heard TOO many stories now where CPS completely FAILS kids in abusive homes. This is yet another sad story. Why TF do we have CPS when they don't do a damn thing to protect children?... Im appalled and extremely saddened by this story on ALL accounts. The family of these kids CARED and did the right thing YET their little loved ones were STILL harmed. Its unacceptable and CPS needs to be held JUST accountable as the mother. 😡😱🤬

CPS in Michigan is terrible!!!! They gave my 2yo niece back to her parents how are both on drugs!!! My mom was taking care of her and tried to gain legal custody ( she already had her for a year) they went to court and gave her to the father without even giving him a drug test because the worker said the case was on my sister. Now my niece is sleeping in a nasty bedroom with her father AND brother!!! They removed her from my mom beautiful home to a house full of adults...CPS does not protect kids!!! If I could insert a picture of this man room, you when be disgusted!!!

I got investigated for months with surprise visits and random calls when someone made a malicious report about me. They even went so far as to make outrageous and easily disproved claims like that my home is full of drug paraphernalia and I let my baby wander around where she can get into drugs. At the time, my daughter couldn’t even crawl, let alone walk, and when CPS showed up unannounced to my home, I welcomed them in at first thinking it was some kind of routine thing or something because I was a new mother. So they came without warning and found a clean, baby-proofed (even though she couldn’t get around yet I had still taken the initiative to baby-proof the home…) home with plenty of formula, brand name baby foods, and diapers/cleaning supplies. She has and did have a wardrobe that puts the Kardashians kids to shame, and since I am such a “helicopter parent”, she is always clean and presentable, even now that she’s an active and curious toddler. So despite the fact that once my father in law, who thank God was there and listening to the questions I was being asked, got them to tell us the reason they were visiting was because they’d received a salacious report detailing obviously false allegations, they continued to drop in on me randomly, demand i answer their calls immediately at any and all hours, and submit to a drug test. I complied with all their demands and yet they still kept my case open as “under investigation” for five months.
Finally, I received a letter in the mail saying the report was ruled unfounded, the case worker told me that every single person they interviewed said I was an excellent and loving mother - one who if anything needed to let go more and let her do more on her own since I had barely let her feet touch the ground for that first year and change of her life at that point (the word helicopter parent came up a lot apparently- basically the opposite of someone who warrants a CPS investigation…). Then to top all that off, despite the law requiring it, they did not send the letter saying the report was deemed false and unfounded to all of the people they involved in the case. I had to tell them myself weeks later because I had assumed they got the same letter as they were supposed to get clearing my name and reputation.
They spent 5 months harassing me while they don’t bother at all with homes like the one in this video.
    Make this make sense please.

    • @virginiaordaya
      @virginiaordaya 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

And believe me, I understand that this story sounds too insane to be true and that I must have done SOMETHING to deserve the harassment and upset to my home that I received, but I have my real name on here and I encourage anyone to investigate my case and see for themselves. There was NO TRUTH to the allegations, constant investigating for much longer than the time limit they’re supposed to either find the report as founded or unfounded proved time and time again that I was an exceedingly cautious and doting mother who kept a clean safe home. Please do check up on it if you don’t believe me. I’m assuming since they dragged my name through the mud they’re required to admit the truth to anyone who asks about it. It was plenty public when they were trying to catch me off guard letting my baby roll around in used needles and crack rocks before magically cleaning the home and making it look perfect in the time it took between the knock at my door from them and when I answered it and let them in to look around and inspect my baby. She was talking at FIVE MONTHS OLD because I literally had her attached to my hip and would talk to her all day long.
Please do the research on me, because if it could happen to me, it could happen to anyone. Mothers out there need to know what this agency will do to you if you aren’t the type to scream at them and deny them entry to your home. I even started to wonder if they kept visiting me so they had visits on their logs without having to deal with actual screaming cursing meth heads and climbing over filth and paraphernalia to inspect their kids. Coming to my home meant sitting down at a nice table in a clean home and drinking tea or coffee and having a calm, rational talk.
I’m still so angry and upset and humiliated by the experience.
I wonder if I can sue them for leaving the case open so long past the legal limit and not sending the letters to everyone they involved in the case.

Any parent who doesn’t/can’t care for a child should be able to drop them off no questions asked. No criminal charges.
This would prevent so much child abuse and homicide

    • @Winasaurus
      @Winasaurus 2 ปีที่แล้ว

First off, there should be questions asked. You don't get to slip out of child abuse charges because you finally decided to do the right thing. That's like saying criminals should be allowed to come forward and admit to their crimes and hand in their weapons but not face charges.
Second off, they already can drop off their child with CPS if they can't handle them. Or set them up for adoption, or hand them off to family and they can do that too if needs be.
Thirdly and most sadly, it doesn't matter even if these parents could snap their fingers and put the child in the happiest home imaginable, if they did that, they'd get less benefits, so they won't.

This moved me to tears. I have no human children, just dogs. But this hit me like a truck. Unbelievable cruelty and heartbreaking details. We are a gay married couple, I never thought I'd be responsible enough to raise a human child, but I'd move heaven and earth to raise those children, especially that wee disabled soul, with every ounce of care, love, protection and decency I have. Absolutely heart broken.
