I started watching it only for Gong Jun but I couldn't continue it more than 8 episodes...just so boring only "War Of Faith " give me live.....what a legendary masterpiece 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

I don't think that Yang Mi is one of the best actresses, I'm sorry. She has potential, but she remained stagnant somewhere a decade in the past. Maybe she thinks she can make act with past fame, but she always has a hollow look on her face. She's not the only one in the entertainment industry as she grows older who prefers to look pretty instead of quality acting. I absolutely agree with the rest.

The actors and actresses are not the problem. The problem is the story line is fucking boring. I can’t stand it. I feel bad for everybody in the drama
You lasted longer than me!😂 Halfway through episode 1 I already knew I didn't like it. Yang Mi was my gateway into cdrama with 10 miles of Peach Blossoms, but since then I have not liked her anywhere else. Also despite graphics, this felt like a very old fashioned xinxia and I had the same feeling with The Last Immortal (also couldn't watch it). *Sigh* so far, The Double has been the only highlight of this year...

Yang Mi was my gateway into Chinese dramas with The Legend of Fuyao and Peach Blossoms. I loved them both but I couldn’t even get through the first episode of Fox Spirit! It seems to me that at times these older women acting with these young male leads don’t have any connection or chemistry. It’s as if they are acting with younger brothers and we can see and feel the empty lackluster emotions and energy of it through out some of the scenes. I could call some examples but I don’t want to offend fans of these actors.😅 The Double was the best drama this year ❤

Yang Mi made the same mistake as so many other drama actors in that they DON’T look at the person they talk to. Only in the mask scene did she even look at Gong Jun - and that scene is a good one. Otherwise actors confuse stoic with dismissive and non-caring gestures
Did you watch The Double? It was fantastic! All I hear about Fox Spirit is that it was bad

Fantastic drama! I stopped watching cdramas years ago because of their exhausting boring stories but The double and the story of Kunning Palace brought me back again..
I don’t know why they put limitations on this by just 36 episodes. Before Mydramalist had it at 38 and before it was apparently supposed to be 40, like I don’t understand why they cut it. Also I agree there were too many couples and the villains were really aggravating.
I watched, it was very boring. ....my favourite drama of the year is " War Of Faith " ....What a masterpiece 👍👍

Gong Jun tried but Yang Mi did not even attempt to act like she cared. She was better in She and her perfect husband with Xu Kai. I was looking forward with the personality swap. There was some interesting world building. Especially the slave master kingdom. The villains were so terrible as well. Very little exploration of their motivations. Except the Guo guy.

Argh I watched the first couple episodes and could not force myself to keep watching. I loved 10 miles of peach blossom but I could not stand the bad transition...it's like suddenly this happened then oh flash back to the past then current then suddenly past again. Like why didn't they keep everything in the past then most of it is the present. It got me annoyed. I also didn't like the idea of the young boy falling for his chief. Plus did not like Hong Hong's resting b face the entirely of the show...she is just not likeable no matter how beautiful she look. I don't think I can finish this drama....the guy's makeup were so girly too. I'll try and finish it but even the beauty of it is not convincing me to continue.
This was one of the dramas I was anticipating however getting through the first ep felt like torture. It was soooo boring and watching a 30 yr old man act like a pre teen is so unattractive. Not to mention she was like a mother/sister/aunt figure to him since he was a tiny child… she raised him. It makes me feel so uncomfortable when these writers attempt to glamorize grooming. Tf I’m not going to pretend that she wasn’t his mother figure for the majority of his life to then accept them as a couple when he’s “of age”. It’s gross. I’m so sick of cdrama trying to normalize what would be considered predatory and unacceptable in civilized society. Yes it’s a fantasy but I don’t fantasize like that.
The Male lead was okay for me but Yang Mi acting was too boring. They made her to act too mature, too over doing like an old aunty and keep a straight face, in fact everything about her acting in that drama was too boring.

Almost the same team: director, screenwriter and creator for all 3 FSM. I need good XX drama but after your review I am worried even for Sword and Beloved with Cheng Yi specially because it is a "painful love story". Anyway it must be really bad XX with Cheng Yi or Leo Yunxi that I can skip it. I just find interesting that The Double, Scent of time and Delicacies Destiny have the same screenwriter and ML of course 😁👌
I'm a Gong Jun fan and was hoping this drama would showcase more than his abs. But in spite of the fact that I enjoy watching his pretty face, I just couldn't watch this drama. Same with the Last Immortal - even though I have adored Zhao Lusi in everything I've seen her, I couldn't get into it.
Nope. Dropped it for The Double. YOU MUST WATCH THE DOUBLE if you want a better script and better acting.

The story felt like kind of incest, who writes such a gringe story.. everything about this drama was horrible and wrong. And I couldn’t watch any of Yang Mi‘s dramas..not even eternal love (here the wooden male lead was even worse). I think this young actors go in mass production with show after show but they should choose wisely otherwise they are quickly exhausted.
Fast forwarded 80% of every episodes, hoping it would get better. Unfortunately, it got worsened.
I made it to episode 5. I tried really hard, but I just can’t see the chemistry between Yang Mi and Gong Jun! Visually, they don't match, and their acting doesn't help. Yang Mi's acting is nonexistent. Gong Jun tries, but he is too much in some scenes. I hope Gong Jun's next drama is better! Yangmi needs to start playing more older roles or roles that are not base on looks. For example, Joe Chen plays the evil step mother in The Double and Zhou Xun in Perfect Victim.
Simon Gong is a bad actor, he shouldn’t be in any drama where the female lead is older than him

No, he's not. Yang Mi acting was too boring. Let's be truthful here and leave hate out of it. Yang Mi is also a good actress but she didn't just make it lively this time. Maybe the storyline is boring as well.
