It's fascinating that such a simple game captivated our imagination. The song is from a world of dreams. I wanted to get in board as if it was real. And felt sad when it left.

Then I started over my game, found a way to skip letting the ship leave and once the game was over I went back. Stayed in the ship hoping to find secrets like the "Truck and Mew"(of course it didn't work) but I had hope since this was the only part of the game that changed. Then once I realized there were no secrets so I decided to let the ship go on its voyage, cried a little and wished it good luck. I was a very sensitive child and I was never good with "Goodbyes"(still ain't).

This tune is called the "Promenade". It connects the pieces and represents the composer taking a leisurely stroll inbetween looking at exhibits that catch his eye. Fitting, isn't it?

I miss playing my gameboy with my brother. He and I were just little boys who loved playing pokemon. My big brother played Red Version, I played Blue version. We were so happy. Why oh why did we have to grow up. I wish that I could go back, to when playing pokemon with my brother was the only worry that ever mattered. When the people we loved were still alive, to when mom made homemade pizza, and we watched the 86' ninja turtles. When shows were innocent and sex, drugs, and violence were not the focus of movies, television and games. My god how time has passed. I feel bad most of all for people who just grow up with technology as an extension of who you are. Before the world was connected, things were simple and beautiful. New pokemon could never capture the wonder and heartfelt warmth that the originals implied. I'm so sorry for all of you who missed it.
That's debatable, it depends on when you grew up from my point of view. The late 80s and early nineties were an amazing time to be alive. I remember back then that the world seemed more pure back then.

This was always one of my favorite tunes (Game corner from GSC was cool too, Lavender town/Pokemon tower was CREEPY and final rival battle in R/B/Y was awesome) and when I noticed that they did a remix of it in R/S/E (aquatic museum) I was touched.

I remember the first time I played yellow when i got on this ship I was mad when it left, and I kept coming back to see if it came back yet, IT NEVER DID, I thought it would take me somehwhere else, they should have had Johto in this game. But its still a very nice game this song is so nostalgic.
For some reason I was always afraid to go on the S.S Anne... so I let my friend play half of my game. (I was only 6.) Now I restarted, stuck to the story plot, named my character RED, and my rival GREEN. (Green is Blue, in Japan.) I am so proud of myself. :)

You've missed the point. It has to be up beat like the original, that's what made it so good. And fitting. The slow versions, or remakes, are too slowed down for it to be enjoyable to me. It feels like it doesn't belong in a pokemon game to me and I know I'm not the only one.

1Lightsout1 I know what you're trying to say, believe me I do. But it seems like you too missed the point. It's the slowness of the remakes and fan edits that I don't like. The fast pace is what made it so memorable to me. Why? Because the fast paced music, that packs quite a punch I might add, fits so well with the objectives of the S.S. Anne. To me it's like this, the slow and mellow music is for when the game is trying to tell a mellow story or give you a mellow objective. But the S.S. Anne was definitely not trying to be mellow. I hope this clears things up a bit.
