What a great transformation.. I don't know why but I see white gravel road in an S shape under the trees and a small bridge going over the pond. It really looks great. Love the pond updates and now that we have 2 ponds it is like Christmas lol.
That is also one of my favorite type of videos. I’m so happy for you and your new place to play is going to be a great addition. I was going to enter a few comments before watching the video but you addressed them so I’m glad I waited (tree trimming with flail, and following up with a saw to clean the ripped stubs off). One comment that I was going to make that you didn’t address is that even if you don’t stock that little pond with fish, the birds will do it for you. It takes longer because they transport eggs off their feet whereas you could put in fingerlings.
I've been enjoying the pond series and hopefully the main pond will have the fix you've been wanting. I caught your angle grinder video and found it to be very informative. I have the same switch on my grinder and will be shopping for a new grinder. I've been using mine for 20+ years with no incidents but a wise decision to replace after seeing your video. Hopefully you can get it put back up as it seems to have been removed. It was a great PSA and thanks for sharing your story. Stay safe!
Adam, I watch a few channels that use forestry mulchers and they all have ballistic glass for their windows on their machines. My guess is that your tractor does not. If I were you I would be wearing safety glasses at a minimum. Take a cue from Doug. Anyway, stay safe healthy and cool. Bill H from Cranberry Township
I think because you are sitting so much higher in the tractor and you can't lift the bottom of the mulcher to eye level like in a skid steer it can't really throw things at the glass. It throws things underneath the tractor instead. Depending on how soft the underside is that could do damage and nothing you care about should ever be in front of you when running it.
Good and informative video👏🏻👍🏻. Although it shows the capabilities of a skid steer, your tractor is too large and nice for this attachment. Enjoyed your content🇺🇸👏🏻.
What an amazing project! Turning a simple borrow pit into such a cozy spot is just fantastic. You can really see the effort and passion you put into it. I’m curious to see how the final result will look!
Adam, from the start with the making of a borrow pit /catch basin, I was thinking a campsite in your future. I think when you get that cleared, you will be surprised how useful that area will be. I think it is time and money well spent, thank you for taking me along as you improve a very nice set up.
Love this tool. I find Backing up on my tractor though, is pretty stressful.... but that looks way easier than any other way to clear the land! Best, -- J. Andre. / Old Iron Acres
What a great transformation! Seems like your next implement should be a mini-skid steer. It's been a game-changer for Mike Morgan and it might be a good tool for your woodyard and property. Really good video, Adam!
GOOOOOOOD SUNDAY MORNING EVERYONE!!!…game changer is an understatement!!…😮😮😮… wish they made one for a compact tractor …Adam, that turned out AMAZING!! Well done! Thanks for sharing Have a day 😊
i started watching this channel for firewood splitting content, subbed for pond build, keep coming back to see all the wonderful changes. i watch everytime I get a notification, cheers yall
*Hey Adam, I’ve seen channels using forestry mulchers with windows tougher than a tank. Pretty sure your tractor doesn’t have that, so maybe grab some safety glasses! Stay safe and cool, Bill H from Cranberry Township* 👍
One of your best videos for sure!! I know how easy it is for other people to spend your money. But, I'd really consider planting some October Glory and Red Sunset Maples strategically around the new pond. The fall colors would be incredible for the "Hometown Acres Park!" In a couple of years you'd have the iconic NE backdrop going forward. Awesome job!
that area of your property is really looking nice. I think i would use the darker pond dye , dark blue /black on that second pond , it would look more natural and fit better with the lake type setting you just did, in my opinion.
Nice land clearing video. Impressive implements 👍 A small section of geotech and pea gravel or pavers for your fire pit and your good to go once the grass grows in 😊
I don't know if you have wood ducks in your area but a house put in about three feet in the pond would be nice. I have two houses on my pond and have watched the ducklings jumping out! The grandkids thought that was the cutest thing to watch Looks sweet 👍
Good morning Adam, what a wonderful transformation, you’re correct it’s going to be a little slice of Paradise in Visionary Paradise. It might even turn into a small skating pond for the kids to ice skate on in the winter. Any thoughts on putting a solar powered fountain in the pond? That new attachment looks like a wonderful addition to facilitate maintenance of your amazing property. Still loving the lumber yard building in the background. 😀👍👍👍
Excellent job. It’s awesome what you can do with a little effort & some thoughts. Your family will enjoy this area for years to come. TY for sharing all your hard work. Dave D from Maine.🇺🇸👍
If you price shop those fittings, I've bought male/female sets for $40, bought a 3 pack (male and female in each pack) for $80 on Amazon. Never had a problem with any of them.
I'm kinda mixed on this project. Sure, it'll look nice and be safer for small humans. If that's the goal, you nailed it. But for more local wildlife, the more natural...the better. I think it's a win tho, considering your sitch. Would be cool to excavate the last 1/3 and just make it an island...with a bridge you could walk over and kayak under, doing loops all day - I bet the kiddos would dig that.
Awesome transformation, Adam. The area around the new pond looks great. Just curious: as Lana looked out from the house upon the giant holes dug in the yard, piles and rivers of mud, gravel driveway damage from the storms, etc., was there ever a time when she said "Adam, are you sure you know what you're doing?" 😉😉😉 Another awesome video. Keep up the great work. I will catch you on the next one.
I seriously doubt you would find an arborist who would recommend using a flail mulcher to prune trees. Yes, you get rid of low hanging branches easily, but the wound to the tree is not anything that would heal over. If you value the trees, use a saw and prune the limbs properly.
I was thinking the same thing. He did come back and make clean cuts at the end, but you could easily split the trunks and kill the trees the way he was "pruning" the trees.
Adam hear me out, what if you completely encircled those tress with water? What a gorgeous little island it would become! Clear out some of the brush and put some sand around the edges!!
My favorite kind of videos, too!! Great job. I think I'd be at that pond more than the other one!! It's going to be beautiful with snow covering it!! God bless y'all!! 🙏🥰👍👍👍
Mulcher was impressive. I'd run it. Concern would be tires and sharp, pointy debris. From personal experience of putting a sharp piece into a tire...watch out for that. Awesome transformation!
Looks like your new video was removed by TH-cam so here is my comment on it. >>> Wow! I'm surprised that didn't send you to the OR. Glad you're OK. I know it's going to take some time to heal so take a couple weeks off and let your body recover. Subscribers' orders!
I enjoy all of your videos, but this was one of the cooler ones! Wonderful transformation and you probably get tons of these comments about the second pond, but if you enjoy fishing, you could throw a few fish in this pond and Anderson would probably love fishing there!
Yall are really improving your place and have made a beautiful place so far, I imagine the previous owners see what you have done and are envious of the place.
Having the smaller one on your hyundai is actually really cool, the fact that it lets you get right up on the edge of the water without having to worry about taking a swim.
What a great video! I have really become a big fan of your channel. It’s exciting to see how much you have grown in your ability to operate your equipment. I’ve been watching for a long time so I’ve seen a great amount of change in your property.. May the Lord continue to bless you and your family!
When you're finished with that, would you mind if I borrowed it? Oh, and the tractor it's attached to? I've got 30 acres of forest that sure could use a good trimming up..... 😁
With a 12 GPM pump, you are only getting about that many HP at the mower end, it's not quite a 1:1 ratio, but it gets you close enough for a guesstimate
You made that look really nice. Like you said it will be a nice place for camping. For now just clean up the brush and burn it in the fire ring and enjoy.
It's fine on level ground but the pucker factor will go way up on a side slope or uneven ground. I prefer the stability afforded by a tract skid steer for this kind of work.
I love how you care for machines Adam - not just their parts, but their emotions too. Leaving some tasks for the excavator to do and showing that while it may not be as powerful, it can do the high work. You don't want sad, grumpy or boastful machines winding each other up overnight in the garage. 🚜🏗️
Looks really good hometown!…..kind of makes you think that’s where the pond should of been dug in the first place …..like I said before….if you’re building a pond dam then a pond shouldn’t be there…..natural ponds don’t have dams!

I think most of the time, HE IS the camera person. This whole video looks like he shot it, just taking time to mount the camera for different shots, some drone work, and handheld. Sometimes whoever is with him (ie Doug) will film, but he seems to do a lot himself.
This might be an unpopular opinion, but the new pond looks much better than the old pond. Personally I would also have more natural areas of the property rather than acres of mown grass, nowhere for insects, etc

@@C_J_81as a general rule I agree, but from experience forestry glass is a must.

Got to love those Baumalight mulchers. It's amazing what they can do on a tractor.

The aqua marine colour looks like the Caribbean and it's really out of place. Black pond dye or black and blue mixed would look much better.

I came back and cleaned up the cuts with a chainsaw. It’s easier to mulch the branches when they are still on the tree then on the ground
Without using the flail he would have had a tough time reaching the trees to prune them.
Sometimes you gotta bushwhack.
@@HometownAcres I mean not really considering you have that big mulcher lol. Lay them down with a saw then back the mulcher over them.

Looks awesome the new pond. You should make it bigger and leave an island would look cool
Cool tools buy is a forestry mulcher on a mini excavator the best way too trim a tree for it’s health
My suggestion for the new area at the supply pond would be some stone rather then grass seed. No maintenance and hopefully would keep the bugs down
That nice shady spot under the tree will be a nice spot to take a break on a hot day.
Nice job on the intro. Also, fantastic job on the peninsula project.
Beautiful!
I would clean up more behind the area where you mulched, and get rid of the scrub brush behind those trees.

I enjoyed watching this video. The second pond area cleaned up so nicely! Looks so peaceful.
entertaining, factual, and just plain nice.
Paint those benches white. It will look amazing.
In nature, a natural color or stain looks a lot better (browns, greens). I'm no designer, but white would seem out of place to me.
Your lawn is a prime lawn for a battery powered robotic lawn mower. It would probably save you a ton of money in fuel and maintenance.
You made that look really nice. Like you said it will be a nice place for camping. For now just clean up the brush and burn it in the fire ring and enjoy.
The little fire pit and lounge benches at the end of this vid are a nice touch. Great place to enjoy an Ife coffee after putting in all that labor.
I’d plant clover not grass on that back area of the new pond. Brings in deer and mowing would be decreased to none😊
Nicely done. Those shade trees you left will be very nice on a warm summers day. Looking forward to the next parts of this project.

Hello Adam, Definitely a well made unit, Skidder Kev works his hard👍🇺🇸

Loving the longer videos
Adam, I probably missed it, do you have an overflow/dam for water to be recirculated or will it be stagnant?
You'd be better served with a pole saw than the excavator trying to limb up those trees.
