- I'm installing a Minn Kota Ultrex trolling motor on my old Ranger 395V I/O bass boat. And I'm putting it on a quick release mounting bracket. This is so I can remove it quickly and easily if I'm staying at a hotel for a fishing tournament or any other reason I want to remove the trolling motor fast. Thanks for watching. It's one of the few that has spot lock and able to attach multiple transducers without concern of cable management
Nice video. You would think they would make the secure strap go inside the badging side cover.
Thanks. That is my exact quick release bracket I will be installing today.
😊
Great video, considering the quick release mount…. I recently installed the same ultrex TM. Aside from that, when deployed does your TM shaft have a 1/2 inch play if you try to move or spin by hand? Sort of like a loose tooth…. Just curious if that is normal.
Yes- my TM has the same 1/2 inch play. Either that’s normal or both our trolling motors were built on a Friday afternoon- ha!

If you had to pick one or the other a good trolling motor or a good graph which would it be?
I’m fishing high school tournaments with my kids. The tournaments are on different lakes, we get on the water before the sun comes up. So, a good graph with lake maps & navigation would be my first choice.
@@ProWrenching that’s understandable my wife is giving me the option of one or the other not both lol, not trying to sound ungrateful I did get to buy a new 2023 boat, it’ll be a first without spotlock for me
@@Wiscobowhunt congratulations on the new boat! Take the wife fishing on a windy day and she might reconsider and let you have spotlock, too! 🤣
How does that little mount hold up to the power of that motor? I want to do one for my garmin force but scared it won't hold up and will be loose and not strong enough
The mount has held up in rough water conditions, but it’s not as solid as mounting it straight to the boat. It has a very slight wobble to it.
@@ProWrenching ok so it does have a slight wobble due to the construction of the pun system on the mount? How noticeable is it
@@austenazevedo6078 it’s only slight- doesn’t affect the operation of the trolling motor. Wobble might have been too strong of a word. It’s more like a slight wiggle if you grab the trolling motor and move it back and forth with your hand.
