Did Gilgo Beach Suspect Call Documentary Makers in 2016?

- There's speculation swirling as to whether Rex Heuermann may have called a documentary filmmaker seven years ago in an attempt to pin the serial killings on somebody else. Producer Josh Zeman was making a documentary about the Gilgo Beach murders. He says his office got a voicemail from someone who claims to know the killer. He now thinks the caller may have been Heuermann himself trying to point the finger at an innocent man. Inside Edition's Ann Mercogliano has more.
This wouldn't be the first time a serial killer has inserted themselves into an investigation about their own crime(s)

You hear his natural inflection in his voice when he's excited. He does this rhythmically in the interview, on the phone you hear him do it in reverse, meaning he's controlling and aware of his speaking flow. However he breaks to his natural inflection when he says , I worked with Police. You hear his inflectional excitement

I’m sorry - of course you can’t say 100% that’s him.. however, to say that it doesn’t sound at all like him is CRAZY to me! It’s literally his high pitched creepy voice with the same style of phrasing and accent.. It’s on a cell phone and he may have been trying to change his voice a little which could explain how it’s not exact but I think it’s pretty damn close enough. I’m sold

it sounds like him to me … i’m not a professional but i’d put $ on it
It’s just off slightly as a result of differences in audio files but I still think it was him based of accent and anyone who knows how to slightly tweak the files could show it’s far more accurate than what we’re hearing here!

@@ursamajr I understand I said accent but it’s more of a lisp on top of the accent that sounds to me like a match! Tone is also eerily similar and it’s the audio quality that makes it sound off!

Wasn't there an episode where one of the guys the documentary makers talked to, said the person who committed the murders was from Massapequa Park?
I'll have to go back and listen for specifics, but I do remember Massapequa being mentioned in The Ki//ing Season.

The caller was either someone else, or the voice print match was inconclusive. Had there been a voice print match the expert would have said so. Instead he said the voices sounded the same to him. I’d put my money on the voice print match being inconclusive, but knowing Inside Edition, I wouldn’t be surprised if the producers paid the voice expert more money to say the voices sounded the same in the event there was not a match.

Yeah it does seem to be him. Knowing a lot about Rex based off his online behavior and what he’s been up to over the years….calling and tormenting victims families and getting off on it… I’d say it’s very likely Rex calling. He gets off the mystery of his identity and constantly searched articles about it. He’s asking about the media from prison even! It’s one of the only things he’s said in there. So… yeah… that would be in line with his behavior. The voice sounds spot on.

Maybe Rex was just interested in the Gilgo thing and that was the reason his google searches were what they were.
Yeah and his and his wife’s hairs were accidentally on 3 of the victims, and his personal cellphone was accidentally always pinging at the same spots as the burner phones that last contacted the woman before they vanished.
Yeah & he just happened to be seen along with his vehicle picking one of them up just before she disappeared. Cuz, you know, he had sex with her & all but of course he didn't kill her! (/Sarcasm) Even though she was never seen again.. til her body was uncovered.
