As someone who has watched a lot of tutorials and who has created a lot of tutorials ... this tutorial was fantastic. So well explained and very thorough. The participant view section was brilliant - so many creators ignore this! Thank you.
I felt like I actually learned about all aspects of breakout rooms from this tutorial. Too many videos seem to be concerned on showing me how fast they can click thru features, but don't really teach you anything! If you start here you can ignore those! I'm off to see what else Marcia Chadly has to offer!
Great Tutorial! I love your teaching technique! I like how you showed the Host side and the Participant side. This really made the whole experience come together! Can't wait to see other tutorials you may have. Thank you!
Thank you Marcia for helping me gain a better understanding of how to use the breakout room option in a Zoom meeting I'm hosting. Your voice instills confidence and the pace of your delivery was excellent. Blessings Liz 🥰💜

Thank you Marcia.Three major skills in one person is just amazing: you just go about the explanation in an easy ,professional, motherly way..What else could a learner starting from scratch look for to be a knowledgeable person in one tutorial? The answer is obvious:none!

Great video (even 3 years later). and I really liked your Best Practices piece. But I noticed that I cannot save this (something about the TH-cam settings, which I don't yet understand).
I'm glad the video was helpful. I'm not sure why you couldn't save it. It's public and I don't see any unusual setting on it. What kind of error message did you get?

Gosh really appreciated your calm manner, I have just gone from basic to licensed but can't see the break out rooms. What version do I need? also I want to present in presenter mode how do I do that so they don't see my notes? I teach adults and all of a sudden need to go to zoom, this is all new to me. 🥴
Breakout room controls appear when there are multiple people in a call. You can experiment witht them by starting a Zoom session and then joining it yourself from another device. I'm not sure what situation you are asking about doing in presenter mode. This screen share video may help th-cam.com/video/5NZzP6BK9hs/w-d-xo.html
Your information has been helpful, but I want to know how to practice being a host with audio. The video is great but I can't hear myself during the practice test.
Hi, Nice Presentation.. Question: When people are in the main meeting room and I have not assigned them to a breakout room.. Can I assign/add them to the breakout room of their choice after the breakout room meetings has started?
@@ChadlyCreativeConsulting thanks..people that are new to zoom dont know how it works so don't want to commit... I'm new as well so if they want to attend after the main meeting room has started..I want to be able to say yes..we'll see...thanks for your feedback..
I taught a seminar with zoom today. I would have loved to send a file into the rooms so the participants can read and discuss it. I just didn't know how. I tried copying the file and pasting into chat - didn't work. Do you have a tip for me?
Hi Linda, Here is a Zoom support article that may be helpful - support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/209605493-Sending-a-file-in-a-meeting FYI - When people go into breakout rooms they no longer see the full Zoom chat. The chat they have access to is limited to their breakout room. The last I knew the host can send a message but that goes into a small notice box at the top of the screen - not into the chat.
But what about sequential break out rooms, say for 15 minutes each, where the host joins each session? It would have been helpful to know where to look for this information, if not here.
I'm not sure exactly what you are asking. The host can move between breakout rooms. You can also have multiple breakout rooms and for each new breakout session can either use the same groups or create new one. Does that help?
@@ChadlyCreativeConsulting I am asking for a college art class of 19 people. To have full critiques of all their work takes too long. Instead, 15 minutes sessions of 4 people each could meet for critiques while the rest of the class keeps working on their projects. Could break out rooms be scheduled one after the other instead of all at once?
Good question Berkey. I have not tested that. If it is possible, the host would need to be inside the breakout room and spotlight one of the people in that room.
