- Italy has produced an almost endless stream of top footballers. The country is second only to Brazil in terms of World Cups won, while there was a period towards the end of the 20th century when Serie A was probably the dominant league in world football. Even if those days are gone, the Italian conveyer belt of talent continues. Make sure to watch to the end of the video as we go through The Top 10 Greatest Italian Football Players of All Time.

Totti, Cannavaro, Nesta, Zola....
Esattamente loro 4. Però diventa una top 14, perché non si può togliere nessuno della prima lista 🤣 forse Rivera, Zoff e Del Piero li abbasserei un po’
Beppe Signori?
Paolo Rossi? Gentile?
Baggio is the greatest i have seen in my lifetime.
It's an impossible list because of how many legends Italy has had in football, but to put in Pirlo and Del Piero while leaving Totti out is insane! 🤦🏻♂️
I agree! and Piola and Mazzola father and son!
great names but no totti no party
totti is the second highest goal scorer in Serie a but he wasn't a striker ! he was CAM!! a true # 10. last time I checked in 2006 totti was wearing the #10 cuz he was the best pass and attacker on the field.
Oh how I wish we had players of this calibre today....even just one!
Probably? The Italian Serie A wasn’t just the best league between the mid-1980s and the early 2000s, it was the best league in history, period
I can't really argue against any of those players in the Top 10. Mazzola (maybe even both of them), Rossi, Scirea and Totti deserve to be mentioned though, especially Sandro Mazzola.
Cannavaro
it's a shame that he dosen't mentioned totti and rossi
It’s a sin Totti’s not on this list.
Some only knows football in their life range.
Luca Modric is such an awesome Italian
???
Yeah ??? He’s not even Italian
I think he Is talking about 7:18
😂
Twice! Showing him as "Maldini" really had me rolling.
Paolo Rossi R.I.P was the best ever for 1982 Mundial !!!!
How Is Totti not on here ?
I was absolutely shocked too 😂
lost my shit too
@@samfisher2306
Same that’s terrible
cause the idiot video maker counts their serie a wins. but as a player alone totti should be here
Because he's not there.
Roberto baggio is Artist ❤
That is a great list. Of course Totti is another candidate, then Rossi and Cannavaro too.
Baggio had to be number 1
Where is Fabio canavaro one of the best defenders I have ever seen?
Cannavaro deserves a spot.
Baggio
Rivera
Riva
Meazza
Maldini
Totti
Del Piero
Pirlo
Buffon
Baresi
2 of the top 3, Del Piero and Baggio, both had to reinvent their game very early in their professional careers because of injury. Got to wonder what might have been if they didn't have to make these adjustments.
Credit to them that they were still great players anyway
I agree! Delpiero as good as he was after his injury was still not as good as he was before he tore his ACL.
@latentconcert5626 or mid-late 90s... Del Piero was so good as an emerging young player, that Juventus sold Ballon d'Or holding Baggio to give Del Piero his spot.
Delpiero de absolutt 🐐 imo
Del Piero after 1998 is not even on the level of Di Natale, not to mention the likes of Baggio, Totti, Zola, Mancini, Antognoni, S.Mazzola, V.Mazzola, Rivera, Meazza, and even Baloncieri going back to the 20s. All stronger players than him. And I'm leaving out wingers/fantasistas like Conti, Causio, Corso, Donadoni but that's the position in which Del Piero played the most after all, together with second striker position
@carlosimotti3933 Del Piero wasn't the highest scoring striker ever, although he is Juventus' top scorer. He was more the creator or link play forward while Trezeguet or Ibrahimović were target man. Del Piero was a class act! Since this is fantasy we're to imagine having each player at their peak, or even combination of various roles or styles they adopted over their career. Not whine about what they were like after they'd lost their peak - which all players will eventually
You should have added Francesco Totti
yeah I lost my shit when the skipped over totti!! this dude who made this video is the biggest JUV FAN!!! soo sad! if totti would have left for Real M. he would still be the highest transfer ever in Italian football. He would have gone for 100 + mill then add that with today money!!! u could be looking at 180-220 Mil for a player like totti now of days!!!
Totti a great talent but his titles are not on par with Alex, Maldini and Baggio. Thats probably why he wasn't included.@@JayD-fx4wc
Totti in nazionale ha fatto ridere
DEL PIERO MY ASS. HE WAS ONLY GOOD CAUSE HE IS IN JUVE. HE WAS BENCH IN WC 2006
Francesco Totti
Baggio is #1
Ill give you more than 10. Baloncieri, Combi, Monzeglio, Allemandi, Ferrari, Libonatti, Monti, Orsi, Guaita (last 4 players were Argentinians, however they played for Italy), Meazza, Schiavio, Piola, Rava, Foni, Collaussi, Olivieri, Andreolo (he was from Uruguay, but he played for Italy), Ferraris, V. Mazzola, Boniperti, Carapallese, Amadei, Borel, Montouri, C. Maldini, Trapattoni, Bulgarelli, Domenghini, Rivera, Facchetti, S. Mazzola, Riva, Burgnich, Albertosi, Corso, Boninsegna, Prati, Anastasi, Chinaglia, Zoff, Capello, Causio, Bettega, Gentile, Scirea, Cabrini, Collovati, Antognoni, Conti, Graziani, P. Rossi, Tardelli, Altobelli, Bergomi, Pruzzo, Bordon, Vierchowood, Tacconi, Galli, F. Baresi, Costacurta, De Napoli, Carnevale, Giordano, Francini, Massaro, Zenga, Vialli, Pagliuca, Mancini, Ancelotti, Donadoni, Giannini, P. Maldini, Schillaci, R. Baggio, Evani, Signori, Zola, Albertini, D. Baggio, Ferrara, Lentini, E. Chiesa, Toricelli, Simone, Tasotti, Toldo, Casiraghi, Ravanelli, Conte, Di Biagio, Di Livio, Vieri, Del Piero, Peruzzi, Panucci, Materazzi, F. Cannavaro, Nesta, Buffon, Zambrotta, Totti, Pirlo, De Rossi, Gattuso, F. Inzaghi, Tomassi, Toni, Cassano, G. Rossi, Barzagli, Chiellini, Camoranesi, Bonucci, Di Natale, Quagliarella, Balotelli, Immobile, Insigne, Jorginho, Donnarumma, Veratti, Barella, F. Chiesa... It's over 120 players and I'm sure that I missed some of them... There were also Sivori, Schiaffino, Altafini and more players from other countries who played for Italy, however they played for Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil before they stared playing for Italy. Same as Monti and Libonatti in 20s and 30s of previous century...
It's a great comment with a vast knowledge of the history of the game.
But as I replied to you under another video you can't include Orsi, nor Montuori, etc , ESPECIALLY if you decide to exclude Sivori, Schiaffino and Altafini, because the situation of all these players was the same.
Actually for example Orsi was more successful in his national team than Sivori (he left it still very young). Indeed Orsi was the best player for Argentina in the Olympics in 1928.
So it's best not to include players who became Italian later in life.
Otherwise Di Stefano, Puskas and Kubala should be among the best Spanish players ever, because they acquired the Spanish citizenship.
Btw fun fact: Di Stefano could have become Italian in the same vein of Schiaffino if he had played in the Italian league (they were more or less the same age and they both had Italian ancestors)
@@davidemaglio5745 Thank you. I can exclude Orsi from this list, it's not any problem. However, I think that Orsi won much more than Montuori in his carrier. Orsi was not important player for Argentina in Olympic Games 1928 and Copa America 1927, he was just part of the team. Anyway, yes, I will remove Orsi fromItaly players list and I'll put his name in Argentina best players list.
@@davidemaglio5745 No, no, Orsi had not more achievements for Argentina than Sivori, no way, Bro.
@@mikoajdariuszmackowiak2141 Orsi was awarded as the competition's best player at the 1928 olympics dude. He would be known as "the Amsterdam arrow" from then on
One can only make a Top Ten list if they recognizes every single names on your list.
You can almost make a top 10 for line
Top 10 defenders:
Buffon
Zoff
Baresi
Maldini
Scirea
Picchi
Vierchowod
Nesta
Cannavaro
Facchetti
Chiellini
Bergomi
Midfielders
Pirlo
Antognoni
Domenghini
Valentino Mazzola
Ancelotti
Gattuso (top 3 in his role during his era)
Albertini
De Rossi
Tardelli
Rivera
Attackers/10s
Baggio
Meazza
Conti
Riva
Rossi
Mancini
Del Piero
Totti
Toni
Vialli
Totti should be at least in top 5
Paolo Rossi 1982 World Cup !!
It's a good list, but I'd have included Scirea
The disrespect on the great franco baresi
Baggio 1
It's tough to have to exclude Cannavaro, Paolo Rossi and Totti, but I have to agree with this list. I feel bad, but narrowed to 10 this list is correct.
Baggio should be number one
Yes I agree
Yes I agree
Ik right just because of that penalty miss they think he's trash
2nd after Maldini imo... defender is underappreciated asf
Maldini realistically is No.1. Just because he's a defender and not a attacker people tend to disrespect him. Like they usually do with defenders and goalkeepers.
Meazza is N. 1 Italian and the best pre wwii player in the world.
My Italy Dream Team ever: Buffon - Facchetti, F. Cannavaro, F. Baresi, P. Maldini - Pirlo, Rivera - Meazza, R. Baggio, Del Piero - P. Rossi. 2nd: Zoff - Gentile, Scirea, Bergomi, Cabrini - Totti, De Rossi, S. Mazzola,V. Mazzola - Riva, Piola. 3rd goalkeeper Zenga, and it's 23 players Italy best squad of all times.
Romeo Benetti was our greatest destroyer ever and what about giacomo bulgarelli?
@@Pro-qu8ko Oh yes, you're right. It's only 23 players squad, so there was no place. However, theye were very good players, especially Benetti. Anyway, Ithink that players in my Italy Dream Team were better and they have more achievements.
I agree with your team in general. I was never a massive fan of Zenga because outside of a couple of years in the late 80's he wasn't better than Pagliuca, Toldo, Combi, Albertosi etc. De Rossi over Tardelli/Benetti/Bulgarelli is a no for me. He had a great career but his quality is slightly less. I see him and Bagni as similar quality players but de rossi more celebrated. Mario Bertini? Conti, Causio, Donadoni? Bulgarelli was the star of the italian natonal team and most influential player in the 60's. He must be in. Rossi wasn't a great player at all, he had a great tournament. Altobelli, Bettega, Anastasi were vastly better players. I suppose if we are talking Legacy, you have a point. Overall one of the better teams i've seen.
@@Pro-qu8ko I think you are probably Italian, so I believe that your knowledge about players from Italy is bigger than my, that's why I respect your point. However, I think Paolo Rossi (RIP) was pretty good until 1980, after that he was great in Spain'82 and I'm pretty sure that Italy would not win World Cup without Rossis goals. Also he was very good in Argentina'78, he was 1982/1983 European Cup best scorer. In general, I agree that Rossi was not on greatest players of all times level, but he was Balon d'Or winner and by the way he made me crying in WC'82 semifinals vs Poland. Talking about Zenga - yes, he was good at the end of 80s and he had great defenders, really great defenders. You can put in his place any of goalkeepers you remind me. Same about De Rossi/Tardelli. After all you can see that my Dream Team is either offensive and that's why I have not found place for some midfielders...
@@mikoajdariuszmackowiak2141 yes, Rossi, like Giordano was good in 78-80 before suspension but imo you take away his 3 games in 82, he is nowhere in this discussion. Greatest and best are two different categories IMO. for example, mario corso, Beppe Signori, beppe savoldi, claudio sala, chiesa, montella, etc were very good players but didn't achieve what much lesser players did ( in quality) like inzaghi and rossi. tbh, as much as i dont like inzaghi the player, he had a better career than rossi and was a similar style player
Baggio 1--Rossi 2---Maldini 3
Pippo Inzaghi!
Gigi Riva 🔥
When you reached num 2 I was waiting for you not to put maldini so I can attack you 😂
Sorry but Roberto Baggio is the greatest and most talented Italian player of all time.
In World Cup 94, Maldini was definitely highly rated but to be Frank EVERYONE was looking at Roberto Baggio. Everyone was talking about Baggio or Romario and that’s it. These are the worlds greatest
Footballers at that time and Baggio for me, way ahead of Maldini in terms of talent and Maldini is an all time great as well.
That tells you how high the bar is set for Roberto Baggio. He’s the best Italian player bar none.
Romario at least had strike partner Bebeto who was also almost as amazing as Romario.
Baggio was alone, in his own lofty ability to carry Italy on his own in the attacking department and that speaks volumes that he could get Italy so far
Shouldn’t Meazza be higher? He isthe maybe only Italian player who, at least for a few years, was considered the world’s best.
Very hard job to do such a list, i think it was pretty well handled. Bu so many other names could have been there….
For a channel is normal to nkt include francesco totti but i wanna say, as italian from rome (where totti play all his carreer) that he was incredible, at least at he same level of alexander del piero, he was physically strong, not so slow as lots of people think, very skilled and a great leader, i think baggio was a little better and maldini is just the perfect defender, but i will say that add totti as 3rd/4rth and delete the last player in the list is the right choice
I would delete del piero for totti
@@LIMON5390 Del Piero is the Best
E stupendo ha vedere sto video
Donadoni was a great midfielder
Gennaro "Sometimes Maybe Good, Sometimes Maybe Shit" Gattuso 🇮🇹
Del Piero ❤
Carino
Demasiados porteros y defensas para una lista de diez. Realmente Paolo Rossi y Baggio podrían haber sido los mejores, pero a ninguno de los dos le interesaba el fútbol.
Hi there I who's weiting number 1 totti my bad keep going 🙏🥰 amazing Chanel u got
Baggio goat standing death man 😢😢
Molto ben fatto
Hard to argue against any of the players you listed. Personally, my top 5 would be Baggio, Pirlo, Maldini, Riva and Buffon, in that order. I would also add an eleventh great Italian player, Sandro Mazzola. He was sensational.
i only knew 1 of them but he happend to be number one
Nesta shouldve made the cut.
1. Maldini, 2. Baresi, 3. Rivera, 4. Baggio, 5. Buffon, 6. Zoff, 7. Pirlo, 8. Totti, 9. Del Piero, 10. Scirea
I was a kid in 80's but almost every Italy games I saw Alessandro Altobelli was their best player. But I dont know who are the 10best Italians anyway. Many have claimed here that Totti should be in over Pirlo, I dont see it that way. Baresi was most talked defender at 80'-90's but all this comes from Finland perspective and my memories. But still I'm football couch for kids nowdays... bye
Georgia chellini best defender
I’m no expert, but I happen to know Paolo Rossi and Christian Vieri each scored nine World Cup goals. So shouldn’t they be on this list somewhere? Rossi, Vieri, and R. Baggio are in a three-way tie for Italy’s best ever in that category, as no Italian player ever accrued double-digit World Cup goals to their name.
Now, “Career World Cup Goals” is obviously not the most foolproof of statistics (it’s sort of like “Number of Super Bowls Won”, for American football 🏈 players), but I would think the players with the most *ever* would probably have to land in the Top 10……. right?
1- Baggio
2- Totti
3- Baresi
4- Maldini
5- Buffon
6- Rossi
7- Pirlo
8- Zoff
9- Rivera
10- Del Piero
Roberto Baggio was the Best! 🇮🇹
Maldini first ever defender to be shortlisted for the Ballon d'Or...
Beckenbauer received the award twice
Facchetti was 3 in the 60s, so was Baresi in the late 80s or early 90s, german Schnellinger was 3rd in the early 60s as well. Beckenbauer was a defensive/central midfielder, it's a fairytale him being a libero
All the names on the list deserve to be there, but it's hard to narrow them down to ten... I feel players like Silvio Piola, Valentino Mazzola, Scirea, Totti (and also Sivori who was born in Argentina but played also for the italian national team as an "oriundo") and probably a few others I can't recall at the moment should be in there.
Scillachi at number 1
Players I've seen play:
1-R.Baggio
2-Maldini
3-Del Piero
4-Totti
5-Baresi
6-Buffon
7-Pirlo
8-Nesta
9-Cannavaro
10-Vieri
What do u think of gianluca paliucca goal keeper if i said his name right
Cannavaro definitely
Mi piace
❤
Maldini is number one. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
😊😊❤❤❤
Valentino Mazzola instead of Alessandro Del Piero
Argentinians are also ethnically Italians, mostly.
who the hell made this? leaving Totti out is an insult to those who love the game.
totti??? baggio number one
Pirlo too high on the list imo he was so class
Bruno Conti,Boninsegna,Sandro Mazzola,Domenghini,Bergomi
Baggio and Buffon are my favs but the best should be Baressi
Paolo Rossi and Cannavaro???
Pearlo, Cannavaro, Buffon, Totti
Gianni Rivera, Gigi Meroni, Totti, Baggio, Gigi Riva, Enrico Alberosi. e a detta di chi li ha visti giocare, Beppe Meazza, Valentino Mazzola. Bagigalupo.
Enrico Albertosi, head and shoulder above Dino Zoff.
Agree
The disrespect of Francesco Totti is nonsensical...
Salvatore schillaci 🤌
wtf del piero was there without totti. hahaha. delpiero was a bench player while totti played starter in wc
Tardelli should be in the top 10
Where are Totti Rossi cannavaro and they don’t belong in here but are close but Italy still has Zola nesta zambrota scirea
How could you exclude Paolo Rossi
Toooootttttttttttttttiiiiiiiiiiiiii! Also Cannavaro & Rossi.
I think this list is a disgrace. I thought Salvatore Schillaci, Walter Zenga, and Paulo Rossi would definitely make their way to the list.
If you think Schillacci should be on this list, you don't understand much about football. If you think Zenga should be on this list, you don't know much about Italian football
its not up for debate its baggio 1st baresi 2nd maldini 3rd zoff 4th and buffon 5th ???
WTF you put del piero on that list but forget about Totti 😂 thats the big jokes
meazza, piola, rivera, scirea, baresi, baggio, maldini, pirlo, del piero, rossi.
MI PIACE👍
You should have Piola Massola, Totti Bergomi.
Zola should be in the list
Rivera al 6???? Meazza al 10????? E Buffon meglio di Zoff???????????? Io sono milanista ma Baggio secondo e Maldini primo??....non sono d'accordo con questa classifica.
Blasphemy, Roberto Baggio is not #1
No mention of Totti?
You know nothing of Italian Football.
please Del Piero was strong but Totti was anothe category! And Valentino Mazzola!!!! Grande Torino best player!!!!
Come può "Italia": "fare"/"Creare"/"PRODURRE": =
"TUTTI i prossimi migliori/grandi: giocatori"??
"The Next; -Messi, "Ronnie" (Ronaldo) (x 2); Mbappe, Haaland/pari: Maradona/G. Best/Pele e così via 4°!!"??
Ronaldo and Messi shood watch some videos of Roberto Baggio than that understand what class is
Buffon should be top 3 for me. Best keeper of all time (last 50 years at least). Based on excellence and longevity
Skied list, though those players have merit other better ones were left out. How about Roberto Bettega, Paolo Rossi, Antonio Cabrini, Claudio Gentile, Cannavaro, Marco Tardelli? This rating seems very Milan biased. How about Giliardino?
