@@Overhemd We do. Not many seem to see it or recognize it..
Currently he plays (mostly) on the left side in the national team and is a staggering 193cm tall much like Aubameyang, slender and speedy.
However im talking about Cody Gakpo.
Gakpo may not be as explosive as Arjen was.. But he has the potential to grow to the same heights.
Not to mention, Xavi Simons is sitting in the same boat boasting some fine skills and potential.

Guess most football fans recognized the amount of his talent. Just got the image of being injured all the time and a diver - which unfortunately was true. But he got to know his body better and got a bit away from diving in the later years of his career, which made him a very appreciated player in Germany and the Netherlands at least. Fans also recognized he wasn't injured through a lack of professionality, it seemed to be genetics. He was known for beeing a hard worker in training. I'm not a Bayner fan, but from Germany and I totally enjoyed watching Robbery, especially in CL.

Im a Bayern Munich fan and Robben was just amazing to watch. Not just from a football perspective but also how he always fought his way back after injuries. You know how most say nowadays that "well this player has been out with an injury for a while, you cant expect him to do well instantly" - well Robben did just that, over and over again. Even tho his injuries were usually really bad, which would mess up some players a lot. His will and power helped him succeed and on the pitch he was just smarter then his opponents. Yea he was kind of a one trick pony but in that he was perfection. Even tho i loved Ribery but Robben surely had a bigger impact on our success then Rib had, nonetheless this duo was just a dream to watch, i miss them a lot.
Considering his impact, numbers but also his injuries you can be sure that if he wasnt made of "glass" he wouldve been in the category with Ronaldo and Messi, im 100% sure about that.

Bayern supporter here. The years 2010 through 2012 were absolutely brutal for us; especially for Robben, who also suffered losses on the international stage. Bayern supporters were getting very frustrated with him during that time. What I admire most about him is that he never EVER gave up. With all of the losses in finals and all of the injuries, he never always came back and gave 100% performances. In 2013, with that goal in the Wembley, he regained the trust of all the Bayern faithful and reshaped the history of the club moving forward. One of my favorite players EVER! Always got me off of my seat. Crazy left foot. The true Flying Dutchman, Arjen Robben. Thank you for the wonderful video. I know it took a lot of effort and research. In the Netherlands it became a bit of a running gag, he was nicknamed 'the man of glass' cause he was always injured. Someone even made a website answering the question whether or not Arjen Robben was injured at that moment, where the answer was more often 'yes' than 'no'. Actually, just checked: that website still exists😅 In case you were wondering: he's not injured at the moment

Excellent, excellent summary! Did the research, found the footage and the newspaper headlines, awesome job. The only two details I miss (especially in the context of 'not being a man for the big games') are two of his most beautiful goals: the solo at the World Cup vs Spain in 2014 where he out sprints everyone and the game winning goal at RB Leipzig in 16-17 in an absolute cracker of a game (Bayern won 5-4 having trailed 4-2 until the 83rd minute, Robben assisted on 4-3 with a shot that hit the crossbar and was tapped in, then scored a spectacular solo goal from the right wing in the 95th minute to win a critical game). Those and the volley vs ManUtd are goals I'll never forget

Ah Robben, always sad to think about how good he wouldve been with less injuries. Still a legend. As a dutchie i know he started leftwing, and had way more then 1 move. His right foot wasnt even that bad. Its just the usual move he did was undefendable and he kept scoring cus his left shot was amazing, so why even bother doing anything else. Undefendable winger

He actually was also a talented tennis player. When we trained together in regional practise we often would also play some soccer. (Us being 10 years old). After some time we found out it was most fair if we made 2 teams: 1 of Arjen alone vs 7 others + the trainer. And even then he often managed to win.
He had massive feeling for the ball. I remember the coach telling him that eventhough he could have been a decent Dutch tennis player (he was probably the best player in the group), he should follow his football career.

I'm glad Robben its being discussed nowadays, He always played for a good team but the difference was that he made that team good and not vice versa. Such an impactful player that he could have won the Balon D'or but you just couldn't compete with Messi and Ronaldo...

My favourite player ever. I watched him smoke my team and before kickoff uou already knew he would cut in and score outside the box and despite knowing that, he still did it. Twice!
Bayern changed their entire formation just to accomodate for him.
I’m not sure if you guys knew this but he changed his running form to prevent injury which is his signature stutter stepping but this made his laterally quick which is how he became so damn deadly at Bayern

To come back from all those injuries shows dedication and mental strength. If only his body would be as strong as his will. Also a great guy, down to earth and approachable. You'll often see him in Groningen or his birthplace Bedum on a bike going to Fc Groningen, his childhood football club Bedum and even sometimes at his old elementary school were my son now goes to school with a wall with signed shirts of all the teams he played for.

You know what's crazy? My mom knows Robben because they both grew up in the same village called Bedum. Robben's father was my mom's gym teacher, and my mom used to babysit Robben's little sister. He once made an appearance at my local football club VV Omlandia, and Robben instantly recognized my mom. That moment really hit as a core memory, and instantly made my mom 100x times cooler to me xD. I was 11 at the time, about 12 years ago.
