- Hurricane Milton is moving closer to Florida and businesses in my town are starting to close down. All 5 Florida cruise ports in Florida have closed because of Hurricane Milton. Here are latest updates.

Exactly this! Can't shut down the morning of a Hurricane and give people a chance to evacuate. Especially with the issue with fuel.

Dude think about it.... it's not about the gym being open.... it's about allowing the employees to prepare for the storm at their homes or possibly evacuate ahead of the storm

We filled both ours cars up this last weekend. We’re ready for Milton to do whatever happens. Prayers non of us have any major damage and we’re all safe. We are in the C zone so we don’t have to leave either. The wait not knowing if we’ll be without electricity or possible flooding.

I just got off the Carnival Vista. It was one of our best cruises. The staff was AMAZING! Best I've had in years. And doesn't everyone store bags under the bed? It's easy! Had a great time.
I’m ADA cabins the beds are lower. Suitcases don’t fit. When we stayed in one the sofa was at an angle in a corner. We put them behind there.

@@ballen772 couldn’t even see them. ADA cabins tend to have a little more floor space. Necessary if you’re in a wheelchair.
I believe the beds are deliberately high enough to store the empty suitcases underneath.

Stay safe! I just left central Florida this past Sunday & came home to SE Georgia. We are supposed to get tropical storm winds & rain here, but nothing like y'all will get. Praying for everyone's safety! Including my family in central FL.

I do not want anyone unloading my things from my luggage. How would someone else know how I like my things organized for my stay.

Due to some amazing circumstances, I actually have cruised on Celebrity cruise, in the retreat. And, we had a Butler. While I really wasn’t comfortable letting him do it. he did indeed offer to unpack our suitcases. Also, the day before disembarkation he reminded us that if we would like him to come and pack our suitcases, he would be happy to do that. I would suppose there might be people who would let a butler unpack their suitcase for them. Sailing in the suite, especially in the retreat, has so many amazing amenities. Unpacking and repacking suitcases just seems over the top. I’m going again, over Thanksgiving, a different celebrity ship, but in the retreat. And no, I don’t think I’ll let the Butler unpack my suitcase. But he can bring me my specialty coffees every morning…
We sailed mostly NCL Haven and I never allowed the butler to touched our stuff except bringing bags of dirty clothes to be laundered..

We were at a college hockey game Saturday night and keeping an eye on the game (and updating the people around us). When it got to the last 2 minutes of the Vandy game, the student section (neither Alabama NOR Vanderbuilt) started chanting "let's go Vandy!""

I've never heard of a cruise taking your luggage & storing it, tbh I don't think I'd be comfortable with that. If they had a suite then they'd have more storage space than anyone else so why were they "living out of their suitcases"?
Right? Like why didn't they hang up their clothes, or put in drawers that us common folk. Stuff like this cracks me up.
So sorry to see the storm after the storm! I have relatives in Jacksonville, Fl and they are also taking full precautions! The ships will do better out at sea rather than coming into dock to get tossed all over the place! Glad you got your hotel reservation money back! Love your vlogs! Keep up the good work!

I once had a suite on Celebrity that came with a butler. Booked the room for a special anniversary. The butler offered to pack and unpack us but I declined. He was AMAZING! What a week!
I've seen a few of the higher end lines have butlers and 24-hour concierge - I don't think I could think of enough things for them to do! Guess I'm not cut out for the high life! lol

I don't know about cruise ships; however, I saw a program that shared if you are invited to spend the night with the Queen (King now), someone will unpack your bags and make sure your clothes are pressed before hanging them up or storing in the dresser. They will repack your things in advance of departure, using tissue paper to minimize wrinkles. Sweet.

Hey Tony, I’ve sailed on Holland America Cruise Line three times once in a Vista Suite on the Veendam, and twice in a Neptune Suite on the Eurodam and Nieuw Statendam. On all three sailings the cabin steward has offered to take my luggage and store them and return them on the night before disembarkation without issue. Stay safe during the hurricane!

In 1999, I took a cruise as Hurricane Floyd was hitting. Fortunately, my ship was able to avoid the storm. We never diverted to a different port, but there was talk of that happening. Good Luck.
On our first cruise (RCL) we unpacked and left our luggage standing in the room. Came back from dinner and luggage was gone! We thought it must be under the bed and it was. We thanked the steward in the morning.

Drove from Ft. Lauderdale to Valdosta GA yesterday. Took 4 hrs longer than normal.
The Turnpike was jammed 10 Miles south of the Turnpike/I-75 interchange and all the way North of Gainesville.

We continue to wish you and your family the best as Milton approaches. This summer we took a three week vacation with the middle week being on the Oceania Regatta in Alaska. Need less to say we had to pack for three different environments. We had one large piece of luggage and the room steward gladly took the one large suitcase we had and stored it. We put our other two pieces under the bed.
Along with not checking luggage for guns, another great reason we will never cruise with Carnival again...we are one and done with that cruise line.

We live in Ocala and all mobile homes and houses built before 1994 have to be evacuated and we are 1.5 hours inland!

Even on Oceania and the Paul Gauguin we put our luggage under the bed. On the Heritage line, (which is a river cruise line), they did ask us if we wanted our suitcases stored in the hold, but there were only 13 cabins on the ship. I cannot imagine how difficult it would be to have to locate everyone’s luggage in a holding room on a large cruise ship.
I have always found room in the closet to store mine. Easy Peasy.

Really hoping you would investigate and report on the bird invasion. Looks like this happened on Carnival, a couple returned to their cabin opened the door and their cabin was full of birds 🤷♀️
