Myrtle Beach, SC crews work to remove shrimp boat washed ashore by Hurricane Ian

- In the wake of Hurricane Ian's impact on the South Carolina coast, a shrimp boat was discovered to have washed ashore. On Tuesday, NBC affiliate WMBF-TV watched on as crews worked to get the Shayna Michelle back into the water.

Since the boat is semi floating, pull it around from the bow instead of plowing it out through the sand from the stern.

hell i cant figure out what there doing .,couple of diggers digin in the sand and a boat floundering the water.
Them goes rode the storm much as they could before coast guard had to help them brave men just so pepole can have fresh seafood these boats can't get insurance this saved a ma and pa bussiness
They only didn't make it cuz they had engine failure

It doesn't look good to me. At the start of the vlog the bow was high and sitting some what level, but as the video went on the bow started sitting low in the water and the stern was rising out of the water . Looks like the bow was taking on water.

Come on! don’t they have tug boats in the area, that can pull the shrimp boat backwards and pull the front around at the same time, something’s wrong here. it’s floating it’s not Beached or stuck.

They should've called the guy in Northern Utah, he has navy jet boats army wreckers and helicopter. Full time film crew and cowboy boots.

I heard the call go out on this boat with the coast guard . She was dead in the water. They had to send someone out to help them from Georgia . Why ??? No clue .. The captain was having the crew picked up but not him. Coat Guard gave him one hour to think it over on leaving the boat . After that ... We will not come back too get you !! No clue if he went or stayed ??
Have just now looked at several articles from local news sources and none mention that conversation, they say "the crew" was picked up and that no one was on the boat when it ran aground. Have looked at: the Post and Courier of Charleston SC (that boat has quite a history); WPDE ABC15 news; Myrtle Beach Sun News; WBTW News13; & an article on WIS 10's website October 4 quotes the boat's captain, ""The captain of the boat, Kevin Benz, explained that the crew was trying to make it on Thursday to Murrells Inlet before the storm arrived but had engine issues. The Coast Guard came in to rescue four people on board the ship. The crew anchored it but Hurricane Ian’s powerful winds and storm surge brought the boat onto shore."" with that quote being quite an accomplishment if he stayed on the boat and the USCG didn't come back to get him and as the outlets report no one was on the boat when it ran aground.

He could lose the boat as salvage once it is abandoned I believe
