- On Sept. 28, 2023, the first anniversary of Hurricane Ian, the streets around Times Square on Ft. Myers Beach were packed, live music echoed around each corner, and the people showed up. Since the storm, this turnout (even on busy weekends) is not the norm. But, it showed locals and visitors alike that they aren't giving up on their island paradise.
Heading down to Fort Myers this summer with my girlfriend.
They need that tourism money and I wanna talk to some of the locals and get raw perspective of Hurricane Ian and the rebuilding process of Fort Myers. I can’t believe how much devastation that thing has caused them…
That’s just sad. We got the other side of Ian and it was still wet and windy. Can’t even imagine this level of destruction! Not much left.
Damn. You know you're a Floridian when you smile after major hurricanes.
Whats a hurricane ..aint it a strong drink??? There is no soul in Florida...too hot and humid too flat too boring...Colorado was mid 60s with clear skies!!!! Great hiking weather
Washington State has the best hikes!
Rude snobs are the only residents left on the beach
Thank you deathsantis for your support, what a joke
Governors can’t control the weather
What did you want him to do??? Use his mouth to blow the hurricane the other way???
Better than a DEMONCRAPPER
Fort Myers & Fort Myers Beach were dumps before Hurricane Ian. It looks a lot better now without the rotting wooden shacks & tourist trap crap. But it's still a dump.☠️🤑🤡👎
Wow! Such a nasty and rude comment! The Fort Myers beach community has always been beautiful and peaceful… NEVER A DUMP!
we will rebuild and be back stronger than ever!
FMB IS LOVED and will always be an amazing place to visit and live!
