I'm an avid camper and use the bike on seasonal roads. It's basically just loose sand 90% of the time. Don't even attempt it with anything other than a fat tire.
@@EdKrisiak Yes, anything bigger is ridiculous and heavy, two inches and under would be enough, but than again, there are also peoples who weigh much more than 220 pounds, and since I'm only 166 maybe my point cannot be very well covering !
Just got this for $300 off plus 3 free accessories. Can't wait to get it! I am so giddy lol. This is my first e-bike and I am going to use it for hunting thanks for the review it really helped me make my purchase!
What do you recommend buying between Rad 6 vs. Aventon? I didn't get a chance to test ride the Aventom yet. My most use will be commuting between home and work..16 miles each. Any difference between service , parts quality between two companies?
Just an FYI, your rear fender stabilizer arms are installed in the wrong location. You have put them in the screw mount holes for the rear rack. They need to down lower on the frame just behind and above the rear axle nut. Agree with you on the left display dimness. I have put a velcro sock around my Rover 6+ cables mess in the front a la RadRunner style. I have also taken off that ugly looking warning sticker on the downtime. (make sure to heat it before removing)
Just purchased a rad rover 6 plus 2 month ago 2 hundred miles on it , love it . look for video on how to raise Handel bar stem if possible so I can sit a little bit more straight up need about 2 "
Hey Sam, great information and videos. I’ve yet to ride my rad 6plus but the time is coming soon and I appreciate your work and makes my decision on buying one much better. Great page happy new yearc
Excellent review. Out of the six or seven reviews out so far, of the rad rover 6 +, you are the first one to compare the power of the Motor to the rad rover 5. Still a nice bike, but thought for sure they could’ve increased the power a little.
Thanks for your video - Question does the RadCity 5 Plus or the Radrover 6 have the Tannus Armour already installed when the bike is purchased new from Rad ? Thanks
Can we still buy the rad Rover 5 if we wanted cheaper because the battery are interchañgable wife has a 5 we wanted another so when I wanted to go hunting I could have 2 Batteries
It is a hub drive, the gear selected is irrelevant in throttle only and little relevance in PAS, only if it was crank set drive would the gear be a factor
Hi. What is your inseam if you don’t mind me asking. (You note that the step through is too small for you. I’m shopping for my sister / gift for her BF. He’s tall but shorter inseam. Thanks if you get this and have time to comment. She’s rather get him a step through if possible as he’s 63 years old and mobility (step through) down the road will be important.
Thule is one of our favorites. www.ebrdeals.com/ebrBPCarRacks-Thule-T2XTR Also, Hollywood Racks Sport Rider has one of the higher weight ratings per tray which handles the heft of e-bikes better. www.ebrdeals.com/ebrBPCarRacks-Hollywood-SportRider
If you are considering this bike right now I and many others online are getting bad batteries and their customer service is waaay overloaded. Check out their recent BBB complaints at Seattle Better Business Bureau. Though eventually solved mine hasn't been yet (dead battery on 2nd day, pro assembly)
Thanks for the video but I'm still uncertain to get the RadRover 6 Plus or RadCity 5 Plus as I never ride off road. Will concrete / asphalt kill these tires ?
I ended up being the high step version. I would looooove to have a step through, but I'm 6 foot tall. Seems like most ebike companies make the coolest stuff for short people. As in, I would have loved the convenience of a folding ebike, but again, I'm too tall. Still, happy with the bike I do have, but yea, kinda sad these companies only make bikes for shorties.
I'm not sure what you mean? I'm 6' and I bought the step-through version (RadRover 5 though). The other version was sold out. I only use the step-through when getting off the bike. You are correct though, the cycling community seems to be mostly lightweight, under 6'. I'm what they call a "clydesdale" being over 250 lbs. and 6'. The other problem I have is none of the cycling clothing fits me. I also have a lot more issues with flats because the extra weight creates a lot more force to grind bits of glass and other sharp objects through the tire, no matter what (even through 2 tire liners).
@@orionxavier6957 I mean, there's different ways to get to 6'. As in, I have very long legs but a fairly common sized torso. It's definitely not fun banging your knees on handlebars.
@@HelenaOfDetroit Oh I see. Actually one of the things I like about the RadRover is the handlebars are angled more like a cruiser bike so you're not bent over so much. On my Trek 7.2 I have to lean down which puts strain on my neck and back.
Jim, we put a link at the top of the description so you can navigate to current pricing. Rad just announced increased prices for next year - prices are volatile in the industry right now which is why we don't mention them on camera. Thanks for watching!
Rad must be in serious financial trouble, as they are discounting their flagship R6 Plus by $300. Nobody discounts this heavy in the high demand spring, unlless they are experiencing substantial cash flow problems. They laid off more than 100 people recently, and their mobile van service turned out to a trainwreck.

Fattys!😁(Crack open that motor and have a look at the magnets)
I like the 2" tires. I can still pedal easily like a standard bike.
After buying the Rad City I am now buying the RadRover 6 Plus for the wider tires.

Ideation 6 , a beast of a bike but a beautiful design concept. Good bike is wright 👌.
89 miles on my Rover 6 .
Nice 👍
For us Canadians, a better value would be the Voltbike Yukon Step-Thru. For around $100 cheaper you get a bigger battery, with a rear and front rack.

That's a good-looking step through.
The aesthetic was the biggest change, and it's a change for the better in our eyes.

You can always check the rad website or second hand market to see if you can find one.
Can the speed be increased on this bike from 20-25 mph like on the older control style models?
Yes!
Hi
When you did the hill climb test with “throttle only” which gear were you running in?
Same question but when using Assist 5?
Thanks

Can you review the GeForce t42
All I see that the frame has changed to match the competition.
How is the best way to transport this bike if you have in our case a CX5 Mazda. I'm sure they are heavy and not easy to transport around.

I wish someone would measure from ground to the top of seat with seat at lowest point
Are there any bikes that regenerate through peddling?
None that we know of in mass production.
Thanks for the video but I'm still uncertain to get the RadRover 6 Plus or RadCity 5 Plus as I never ride off road. Will concrete / asphalt kill these tires ?
No it won't kill the tires. You could do either, though if you have no off road plans then the tires on the City are a bit more pedaling efficient.
You probably like çity tires ALLLottt better cruising speeds prbly way better mileÀge with less tire friction
For a 6’3 it’s impossible to ride with ?
Better off this the non step thru man
Is it a 750 watt motor or 750 max output
it's 500 watts that peaks at 750. This is not a consistent 750 watts of power.
Will a review of the Ariel Rider Rideal ever appear on this channel????

Hell hole trail in Washington, UT

We respectfully disagree.
