The easiest way to make a German-British alliance is that Edward VII was never crowned king, so Wilhelm II's good relationship with Queen Victoria could continue to thrive with George V, and the waters would have never been poisoned.
But Wilhelm II already blocked many proposals by the British, where he had to just accept. Edward VII came to power in 1902, while this alliance would be formed in 1890
@rewriting-history Wilhelm II wasn't talking out of his rear end when he said that the Germans (mostly the Prussians) didn't like the British. It was a fact of the era, and no effort was made to change it from both sides. Besides that, Queen Victoria was the only British royal with whom W2 had good relations, his mother included.

Small correction at 10:06, by the late 1800s Austria-Hungary had long renounced all serious claims to Venetia-Lombardy, and only the biggest warhawks in the Austrian government had even a notion of the idea of reconquering these states. Not only would it further exasperate internal ethnic tensions, especially considering the fact that Italy not only exists as a unified entity but these territories had also already existed under Italy. It furthermore would be unpopular among the Hungarian side of the empire, seeing it would greaty strengthen the Austrian side with minimal benifit to them. The empire at this point had long already given up projecting any power over the Italian peninsula, and had instead shifted its focus towards the Balkans.
@@rewriting-history My bad, though to be fair by 1890 they most likely would've stopped caring nonetheless. Intrest over the region in the empire pretty much ended with the ceding of Venetia after the Austro-Prussian war.
Another hiccup in a potential German-British alliance was Austria-Hungary. I have a new what if suggestion. What if Wilhelm II had no crippled arm? Bro would probably follow after his liberal father snd british mother's instructions. This is a good way to make Germany into a Constitutional monarchy and a British ally
Yep, the doctor badly botched Wilhelm's delivery, and the fact that said doctor was English created an obvious target for the kid's resentment. He also blamed another English doctor for the death of his father, since Friedrich's throat cancer was misdiagnosed as a non-cancerous tumor (overriding the German doctors who correctly diagnosed it as cancer). Given that this was the 1880s, an additional year of treatment isn't likely to have made any difference at all in terms of saving Friedrich III's life. But the lack of that extra year gave Wilhelm II even more reason to resent the English.
Wilhelm did already follow in Bismarcks earlier liberal direction, it's actually why he ended up dismissing Bismarck. Bismarck then launched PR campaigns vs Wilhelm and also once used his influence to almost Torpedo German Russian Relations. Most of the common misconception about Wilhelm come from Bismarcks PR campaign because Bismarck was salty as shit he couldn't slaughter workers. Wilhelm did distrust the British as he personally sought the Russians and Austrians as closer Allies. That ended up falling apart mostly due not to his own feelings, but the interests of Austria and Russia
They would have been defeated, the only reason they withstood the onslaught of powers that came at them when the USSR was formed is because everyone was exhausted from fighting except the us which was a minor player and stayed a little bit then left.
I could see Austria slip from Germany's hands, or something else happen in favor of the Entente, this seems too easy peasy to be realistic. The most realistic scenario here is Entente simply never going to war against the Alliance, rather just accepting their dominance. Without having needed capacity, it is simply not worth it

Anyways, a couple more suggestions from me would be: What if the Yugoslav Nuclear Programme was carried on and how would this affect its collapse? What if the Soviet Afghan War never began? Unrealistic but a fun one: What if USA went to war with the Ottoman Empire over the Hamidian Massacres of 1896? (Apparently that almost happened, when the captain of an American battleship at Smyrna threatened the Ottomans to refuse orders and "hammer a few turkish towns." See the Wikipedia article about Hamidian Massacres)
His dismissal of Bismarck was one of his worst decisions, but he was overall, a good man. If you want to learn more I recommend Lavader's series on him; The Peace Kaiser. I don't think he wasn't terribly hostile to the Jews either. Great video!
Have you done a what if Italy joined the central powers??? Because like what you said in a past video the Balkans was a very weak area of the central powers since it had Bulgaria and the ottomans capitals there Anyways another W vid like always 🙏🙏🙏
It's very possible, but Germany may choose to keep the Ottomans around, as if they are defeated, the new Turkish state is likely to join Germany's enemies. The fact is that this scenario would suck for the Balkan people, as Bulgaria is still an Ottoman puppet, while many people from the Balkans would be expelled and Turks would fill their place.
Belgium simply letting Germany pass through its borders alone would be an interesting scenario, but RH already kind of did that with his Kaiserturm scenario.
To be honest, I think this scenario would also require Edward VII to get sidelined somehow. He was a serious Francophone even before his 1901-1910 reign and particularly disliked his German nephew. This time _he_ would be the royal in opposition to an Anglo-German alliance and he's unlikely to stay quiet before becoming King. Maybe you should have him predecease Queen Victoria and thus make George V directly succeed his grandmother in 1901.
Heres one idea if you havent did this yet : What if Hitler was promoted to higher ranks during the great war due to his contribution in the battlefield? I would really like to see this.

Small thing at 18:01 Historically, the Ottomans were willing to give up the territory peacefully, in a similar arrangement to how it was with British Egypt, where it was still officially part of the Ottoman Empire, but de facto under British control, however the Italians refused and went to war anyway, so just having the Ottomans try to sell it wouldn't work, considering they were going to give it for free, and yet they went to war anyway.
@BeastoftheBanbyss from experience, France would be better without Paris of course. But in all Seriousness I'd wonder what would happen if a major world city just ceased to be in or around a large war
In any case, Britain was the first naval and colonial power, they would not have allied themselves with the Germans. The latter would have been a potential colonial rival afterwards, and the British would never have tolerated an European continental power becoming too powerful. As was the case with Louis XIV or Napoleon I for France, or the Habsburg family with Spain and HRE.
The strategy of Britain was to keep the Continent divided among many powerful states. To do this, they would form Alliances with weaker states. If Germany became too powerful, then Britain would support powers that would oppose them. Supporting the rising power would only allow a rival to get strong enough to perhaps invade their Islands.
Bismarck wasn't fired, he resigned over not being able to oppress miners in Ruhr and ban leftist parties. Wilhelm even offered him to position of foreign minister.
Consider this, would France vs Germany result in France still winning? Obviously no. So the UK joining Germany should result in a pretty obvious outcome. There is no sane rational whereby France would beat Germany AND the UK, fighting against the strongest land power in the world and the strongest sea power in the world who each individually are both significantly stronger economic powers in the world. But realistically the war would just outright not happen, France and Russia wouldnt be that stupid. I didnt mention Russia because realistically they played a far less important role in WW1 than France played in WW2, there is no reason at all to think fighting the UK would somehow change that for the better. US would also have no way to join and likely wouldnt even want to given the costs of getting involved, but again there would be no war so it doesnt even vaguely factor into any of this.
@@Syrianmapper1 I agree, if he had won the war, he would seem like a genius. The thing is that most people prefer Bismark over Wilhelm, so Wilhelm dismissing Bismark and going against his policies made him unpopular.
@@rewriting-history My problem with Wilhelm is not, that he dismissed Bismark, yes that was stupid, but can we please not forget all the Genocide that happened it the African-German Colonies
Hey there, Rewriting History! I would like to share my idea for a new alternative scenario video. Idea: Germany wins WWI in the west, but lost to Russia in the east. How: Schlieffen Plan succeeds by Germany putting more effort and resources from the east to the west. Paris fall, France and Britain surrender. Russia refuses to surrender and beats the Central Powers by mobilising more efficiently and having better production and importing military assets more efficiently. Borders: Germany gets some lands from France, Belgium, all of Luxembourg, and African and Asian colonies. A friendly government is established in Belgium and in France also or something more unique, it also gets a pro-German government. Russia gets Galicia and majority Polish lands in Germany. A Polish puppet in established. Serbia would likely be defeated, not sure, though. What's next: Europe is divided between German monarchy and Russian imperialism. USA and Britain are more isolationist, especially the former. Without experiencing war, the American economy grows slower. Several wars occure around the world for Germany and Russia to grow their influence. Not sure what happens with Japan since there'll be no Bolshevism and fascism. No Great Depression, it'll be more of an American economic crisis. Austria-Hungary collapses or becomes a weaker federation. WWII: Germany vs. Russia rematch. You can add your own content. I can't wait to see a video about it!
What if a more extreme, Britain German alliance against the entire world, the difference with this scenario would be that the allies are too agressive and and everyone is scared if they consolidate control, and everyone else joins against them
You said that britains first priority was to protect their global interests, but also prevent a an european superpower so they can keep up their trading monopoly better. Having to compete with the us after all is annoying enough, so its very important to keep europe into spheres of influences. So britain would need a second point being accepted at any alliance: germany will prevent any expansionist ideas, without expanding itself. Ofc to protecting britains naval hegemony while not contesting them too. Britain didnt joined france because they hated germany, they wanted to prevent germany winning at all costs. Thats why europe came out more balcanized after ww1, no power really expanded and this was important for britain, and their only ally, the US.

This is one of my favorites alternative history scenarios.👏👏👏🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Have you done a what if Italy joined the central powers???
Because like what you said in a past video the Balkans was a very weak area of the central powers since it had Bulgaria and the ottomans capitals there
Anyways another W vid like always 🙏🙏🙏
24:30. That's pretty much asking for Greco-Bulgarian alliance against the Ottomans with the Italians, likely to dogpile on the Ottomans as well.
@rewriting-history but why would that happen? In 1905 the 3 pashas are not in power
Britian and Germany: *join forces*
France: *1870 flashbacks 100 years War flashbacks*
Russia: 😱
YES! been waiting For this one! Thanks ❤❤❤❤❤

What happened with the kaisertum mod?
The mod devs took it down, no idea if they are still working on it

Make video about what if Belgium and Netherlands joined central powers
Belgium simply letting Germany pass through its borders alone would be an interesting scenario, but RH already kind of did that with his Kaiserturm scenario.
0:48 its the chill reference guys
Britain's in the thick of it everybody knows
13:43 I Thought You Were Being Serious 😅
Gotcha
Can you please do the portugal one pls
Yes, early February I will do a really cool video about Portugal
To be honest, I think this scenario would also require Edward VII to get sidelined somehow. He was a serious Francophone even before his 1901-1910 reign and particularly disliked his German nephew. This time _he_ would be the royal in opposition to an Anglo-German alliance and he's unlikely to stay quiet before becoming King. Maybe you should have him predecease Queen Victoria and thus make George V directly succeed his grandmother in 1901.
We'll this alliance would form in 1890, so quite a lot before he comes to power
If whilhem II wasn't such a baby maybe, this would have happened
Can you make video what if Bolsheviks took power in 1905(During Russian Revolution)
I have planned for it, will make it into a reality sometime in February/March
Where does the map you use come from?
I made it myself, check the discord if you want to download them

What if Hitler was promoted to higher ranks during the great war due to his contribution in the battlefield? I would really like to see this.
I have something related planned, you will see what my next upload is soon
Ok thanks for the feedback!
I don't think britain would let germany and italy take that much
will i ever live to see a scenario where france becomes the sole european superpower
What if Napoleon won?

I really appreciate the kind words!
I will make a video on how to make similar videos like me, but this will happen in 3-4 months from now. I 100% will do it, but later in my TH-cam journey. Perhaps I can upload it for the 100k special
Thank you for your decision that might change my life and other people life positively and make them successful TH-camrs god bless you for your valuable time and videos and information that you helped me and many people to open successful TH-cam channels
Yo rewriting history there is a Roblox game that you would love called entrenched, it is really good and I recommend

Historically, the Ottomans were willing to give up the territory peacefully, in a similar arrangement to how it was with British Egypt, where it was still officially part of the Ottoman Empire, but de facto under British control, however the Italians refused and went to war anyway, so just having the Ottomans try to sell it wouldn't work, considering they were going to give it for free, and yet they went to war anyway.
The first world war on this map, it looks like Russia has chickenpox lmao
Can you make a video called "what if Ottomans won Vienna siege"?
Where can i get the geography map ?
All maps are in my discord!
Ye i know but i cant find the geography there
what is paris vanished?(other than heaven on earth)
@BeastoftheBanbyss from experience, France would be better without Paris of course. But in all Seriousness I'd wonder what would happen if a major world city just ceased to be in or around a large war
minor mistake but wouldnt kiril of bulgaria be like 15??
You're right! My bad here, I never considered it! Thank you for pointing this out, I will keep it in mind for future videos and improve! Thanks again!

14:08 I thought you were about to say about the Japanese alliance with Britain for a justification for war

Dear RH,
We are so back!
Damn right!
Lore of What if Britain JOINED the Central Powers? Momentum 100
0:48 "this is how the story goes"
To much thick of it
What if Wilhelm II didn‘t fire Bismarck and tried maintaining the french isolation policy with him?
Bismarck wasn't fired, he resigned over not being able to oppress miners in Ruhr and ban leftist parties.
Wilhelm even offered him to position of foreign minister.
Montenegrin relevance! Too good to be true
Make it like the perfect story of Sweden would be like if everything had gone right for Sweden in the story
What if What if Ukraine became a anarchist society in 1917
I made a short about it recently, but I am not thinking about a full-video just yet

So basically if Wilhelm II was not an Idiot
Great way to put it
I don think he was really dumb tho, he was kinda smart guy
@@Syrianmapper1 I agree, if he had won the war, he would seem like a genius. The thing is that most people prefer Bismark over Wilhelm, so Wilhelm dismissing Bismark and going against his policies made him unpopular.
@@rewriting-history My problem with Wilhelm is not, that he dismissed Bismark, yes that was stupid, but can we please not forget all the Genocide that happened it the African-German Colonies
Interesting.

The views were 1660 when i watche this, just like the gpu i wanted befort deciding to save for a titan xp
I'm with a 1650 currently
Worst case scenario.
What if a more extreme, Britain German alliance against the entire world, the difference with this scenario would be that the allies are too agressive and and everyone is scared if they consolidate control, and everyone else joins against them
day 9: Rio de Janeiro became portuguese capital in 1775 after lisbon fire
Good idea, this could maybe unite Brazil with Portugal definitively
The 2nd world war would be deadliest thing ever
