Pardon me but the budu is just anchovy sauce branded with name 'cap ketereh', literally means 'cap buah gajus'. It has nothing to do with the fruit itself neither with any types of jambu FYI. Also, authentic nasi kerabu like my mom always make uses more variety of ulam and taugeh wasn't supposed to be a part of them. 0:38 Laksa or Laksam… they are preeetty much ‘seafood’ based. Laksa has shrimps in the broth and mainly served with prawnl, and normally made spicy. Laksam is made with fish meat for the broth and you can taste the coconut milk…. Of course there are many other differences like what ingredients are added.
U're probably refering to laksa utara or laksa penang. In kelantan, both laksam and laksa are the same except for the noodles. laksa is the stringy kind, while laksa is the thick kind, similar to kueyteow. the rest are identical, the kuah, ulam, sambal etc. The kuah is basically fillet fish with santan and herbs/kerabu. the fish flesh is mashed and cooked together with the santan n spices.

Kalau Laksa pulak through machine...orang tua tak berapa suka Laksa sebab ada mitos mengatakan yg diprocess through machine ni menyebabkan angin dalam badan 😂 boleh jadi sakit urat... so they prefer Laksam sbb dikukus 😁

Thats not kelantanese food, those terengganu food, sambal for laksam very diffrent with kelantanese , and nasi dagang in kelantan normarlly we eat with yellow gulai ikan, nasi kerabu eat with budu ,(jambu golok) terengganu . Kelantan call ketereh or known as cashew.
I've watched so many channel with this kind of content and I think this one is one of the best. its so natural and i love it when Wong explained regarding each things and even teach the know-how of the foods and etc. well, we Malaysian have so many meaning on everything that we do. hehe. For the blue rice,i think kim can checkout blimey video when they tryout the nasi kerabu in malaysia,and making it..the blue is from the flower picked,mixed,cooked in the rice and grown for it from the family..its for fragrance smell, especially when the rice lid is open up.. just for better understanding overall on the east coast malaysia dishes how-its-made..

- my mum used to say, Laksam = laksa masam, not sure whether accurate or not. For me, it seems logical and can explain the slight soury taste in laksam. - nasi kerabu is a kelantan dish, while nasi dagang is terengganu. but since both states are right next to each other, it can be found nearly everywhere. - from my observation, the east peninsular is known for slightly sweeter style of cooking, south peninsular usually a bit spicy, north peninsular usually a mixture of everything. - i am from penang. but both nasi dagang and nasi kerabu is my comfort food.
Yeahh i think the food is similar but minor differences like i think kelantanese food tends to be a little sweeter than tganu food.. Penang food is amazing too!

First up, it's really difficult to find good nasi dagang in Kuala Lumpur City. (cover my bro a bit 😅) There's a different version of nasi dagang in Terengganu where we use the ikan tongkol (skipjack tuna fish) for our gravy which I prefer. Hopefully, one day you guys get to find that Terengganu version and share the source *and sauce* with us ❤😅 Keep up the good work, guys! 👍💪❤

I like nasi kerabu more than nasi dagang , super yummy.
Same with Wong! hahaha always preferred kerabu to dagang just personal taste
But dagang is actually really good too!
- my mum used to say, Laksam = laksa masam, not sure whether accurate or not. For me, it seems logical and can explain the slight soury taste in laksam.
- nasi kerabu is a kelantan dish, while nasi dagang is terengganu. but since both states are right next to each other, it can be found nearly everywhere.
- from my observation, the east peninsular is known for slightly sweeter style of cooking, south peninsular usually a bit spicy, north peninsular usually a mixture of everything.
- i am from penang. but both nasi dagang and nasi kerabu is my comfort food.
Yeahh i think the food is similar but minor differences like i think kelantanese food tends to be a little sweeter than tganu food.. Penang food is amazing too!
i think the best East coast food can be found in Klang Valley because so many of them have moved here. the lady got confused the brand of budu as the ingredients.....😂😂 budu is fermented anchovies.

First up, it's really difficult to find good nasi dagang in Kuala Lumpur City. (cover my bro a bit 😅)
There's a different version of nasi dagang in Terengganu where we use the ikan tongkol (skipjack tuna fish) for our gravy which I prefer.
Hopefully, one day you guys get to find that Terengganu version and share the source *and sauce* with us ❤😅
