One little thing you missed, in season of Arrivals, loads of raids were made truly farmable with moments of triumph for the rest of the season and that added so much more to do in the game throughout the week
I left after about a month into shadowkeep as my only real break from the game, and even running legend and master content then was a nightmare without earianna
Does anybody remember Adventures? When D2 launched it had those little story/lore missions you'd do on planets, little red shield symbol if i remember correctly? Crazy that its been nearly 7 years of D2, let alone a decade of the franchise ❤️
For a while when landing on a planet there will be a little notification saying "new adventure available" even tho they've been sunset for 6 years at that point.
Commenting after watching. As a relatively new player to Destiny (I started in Season of Plunder), it was really neat getting an in depth breakdown of all the game’s seasons! It was also pretty funny seeing you trash Plunder, a season I like for my own nostalgia, and Deep, my personal favorite season because I loved fishing and the Ghosts of the Deep dungeon. Ghosts of the Deep is still my single favorite piece of Destiny content. It was my first solo flawless dungeon (and really solo flawless anything), and everything about it from aesthetics to gameplay to atmosphere is so amazing to me. This was a fantastic video, keep up the good work!
thank you! Yeah ghosts is a fantastic looking dungeon. But as a mainly solo player, I do not like the boss overshields or the slow traversal. Super cool aesthetic though. Glad you liked fishing! Just doesn't appeal to me haha
I quit playing vanilla Nov. 2017 & I came back during (September 2021) Season of the Lost. I haven't missed anything after that point, I love these retrospectives to see what I missed, & to reflect on what I've experienced. Keep making great content!
I played back at launch, quit during curse of osiris, and came back during season of the splicer. Thanks for the nostalgia and enlightening me to the seasons I missed out. Got to live out those seasons a tiny tiny bit through this video.
As someone who’s a d1 beta veteran I took small breaks but never skipped a season… love destiny there really isn’t a game like it!! Love your video love hearing other peoples perspective
great video. reminds me of destiny 1 days. i started playing destiny 2 pretty late. around when stasis super came out & i been playing ever since. love this game & love the grind.
I think thematically one of the coolest things Bungie ever did was in Worthy in the warmind bunker every week you would watch the pyramid fleet grow closer on the wall map. It was just ominous then the payoff in arrivals where they were in the skyboxes was dope.
Great video! One thing i would mention, imo, i think in season 16, we were most powerful as titans, with HOIL and storm grenades, that was so fun, even though season was boring..
Really great video. I didn’t play D2 after red war campaign and came back during Beyond Light - so these sorts of videos are the only way for me to get a taste of the vaulted content.
Haunted was the most fun GM's have ever been. Revitalizing Blast and Solar Fulmination meant you could stun a champ, the champ would ignite, then just keep igniting. It was amazing.
you missed also the end of season event for Arrivals where we got to got to the last City and watch the Traveler awaken while the solar system was consumed by the Darkness
I joined during season 18, which was an amazing time to join (since I had all the past content to do). I’m biased though as I went from zero to all available dungeons solo flawless by the end of the season.
Funny, I was wanting to review the seasons myself, to include all the exotic weapons, ettc, by looking them up online. But your video was a much better presentation, and probably more inclusive of information. Thanks for the excellent review, and keep it up, please. Addendum: Season of the Splicer deserved a better rating, IMHO.
About prestige raids, bungie has stated that the new mechanics were just mechanics from the original raid that they removed from the normal version to add later in the prestige version. Nowdays it's not that they don't add new mechanics anymore, it's that these mechanics are built into the "normal" mode.
The reason bungie said was to simplify builds for new players to get into build crafting. Also the builds were though to make as you had to wait to buy the mods from Ada and she only sold new ones every week( day?) There were over 100 mods and only like 3 new ones a week
@@SlongestKongest so what u think was better armor charge system or the older one .....? Honestly i was hoping that bungie will release new mods in final shape wich directly relate to subclass interaction with orb for example picking up orb of power grants radiant /volatile rounds/unraveling/voltshots/chill clip /oversheild / invisibility/ devour / restoration/ etc 🙂
@@MrNooB-kb9gb Mods like that would be way too powerful, and overshadow weapons that roll those perks/class abilities/artifacts. Just not feasible at all.
Refering to 21:52, this problem affect almost all games, not just Destiny 2. Players who believe they have superior skills that the developers always bitching and assumed things without any experience. I agree with you that those players should just shut the fuck up when they know nothing about.
I think one could differentiate outlaw from forsaken via the locations Aside from the campaign itself. You could lump all the content in the tangled shore as outlaw while all the content in the dreaming city as forsaken
Nostalgia holds up season of the hunt and beyond light for me, only because that's when I heavily got into destiny. But you're right- weapons weren't great, nor was the activity, and sadly, beyond light didn't receive the care and writing with queen would eventually get.
They have definatly nailed the seasonal model. Although the time gating is the most annoying part, I understand it, but it is what always led me to leaving the game for extended periods of time just so I could come back and grind as much stuff all at once.
the amount of times i found myself saying "not it wasnt" or "not true" in this vid is kinda funny. Kinda insane how we all remember different periods in destiny history the Mandela effect is real
banger video but I will say unfortunately the story aspects do also add to how seasons and expansions are impacted, and how also other do see /rank them. I understand that's not your personal thing like you outlined at the beginning of the video, but objectively I think that the lore and story beats do matter quite some bit as a whole for the tiers.. Ether way excellent job bro, keep up the good work!
Why the hate for season of the deep I liked it alot. We got a new type of seasonal activity deep dives (salvage sucks) and an amazing dungeon ghosts of the deep. I just wish they went back and changed a few stuff such as removing Sheila's and buffing their health by like 5-10% and give players a skip to the water section after like 5 clears or somthin.
This just makes want to quit the game. As a returning player just seeing all this content that I’ve paid for or never got the chance to play just get vaulted. It’s ridiculous.
Destiny 2 : The game with tiny bits of absolute gold, covered in a mountain of dogs*it. Honestly, they should've just focused on the only aspects that actually made destiny fun. Raids, dungeons, trials of osiris, pretty much anything that isn't braindead monotonous seasonal activities designed for vegetables to be able to play and get all the best gear. It's a shame majority of the community are braindead shills that pay full price for bare bones dlc. The potential for destiny 2 to be truly amazing and groundbreaking could've been possible if players just stopped handing money over to bungie every time they conceived some new shady monetization practice.
How dare you disrespect patron of lost causes from season of dawn 😂. J/k definitely one of my favorite seasons, splicer and seraph are probably my favorites

Destiny has always been underbaked and overpriced. The high points are rare with a long time between each and the low points are consistent. I have zero interest in grinding recycled content for gear I already grinded for in D1. Especially for those who have never taken a break - spending hundreds of dollars.
