Last fall I did the same comparison. I truly love both of the bows. I also shot the Alaskan. I think your 100% right on the dampening blocks. When I shot them, neither the whitetail or legit had the dampening blocks. The whitetail definitely vibrates a lot worse without. I ended up going with the legit. And funny, my wife shoots the mission switch and absolutely loves it. Good review and best of luck.
I bought a legit last year it’s my first bow and I shot it for a year before taking it to the woods, I killed my first bow deer with it the other day. It’s been good to me but I agree with you it definitely has a lot of vibrations and it’s on the slower end. I’ve even upgraded the stabilizer. I also went with a QAD rest and trophy ridge alpha single pin. I’m going to finish out this season with the legit then I think I’m going to upgrade to the escalate and get the legit set up for my daughter to shoot since it is so adjustable
This is AMAZING content and this channel is criminally underrated! Thanks alot brother, subscribed. If it is possible, can you do a review/comparo with the very popular and even more adjustable Bear Cruzer G2 ? Would be really interesting to see how it fairs, especially with your methodical and thorough ways, official IBO speeds mean little in the real world, when using heavier hunting arrows alot changes. Thanks alot for the amazing content, respect and appreciation from PA.
Bought a status leftover for a steal new. Its fast just haven't got dialed in for me yet been 20 years since i shot. But im going to get her dialed in i love it
Having just gotten the new Whitetail Maxx, I can tell you the vibration comes from those 4 string grubs. I swapped out those grubs with real brass speed nocks and shrink tubing, matching the configuration from my Bowtech RPM 360. Reduced vibration by half. Cam timing is also important too.
The Whitetail Legend Pro is vibrating much more than normal because the cams aren't timed. I can clearly see the top cam drawstop is hitting before the bottom, and when you finally pull the bottom cam to stop, the top cam is already putting a bend in the cable.
My first bow was a Bear Divergent EKO and IMO they're hands done some of the most underrated bows around. I bought a V3X 33 recently and it's truly something special and just better then anything else I tried, but my Bear is still a shooter that I love using in the tight mountain country here in NW Idaho.
I did the same thing with a bear legit to a mathews phase 4. out of pocatello idaho i hunt the palisades mostly. you would have to shoot your bow a few thousand times to even realize what the differences are from the flagship and the lower end bear. its still a solid platform I really cant complain about what you get these days from a bear "budget" model
Do you have any content on the various types of cams and pros & cons or a compare & contrast vid. on them. Some of us are not well versed in this area. Whereas you and your fellow archery hunters & competition shooters are. Thanks a bundle for all the time, energy, effort, thought and resources you invest in your content. @@BackyardBows Many thanks. It will be a real asset to me & mine. I am certain many others will benefit from it greatly. Who knows it may be a high viewed vid and help the channel as well.
Excellent comparison video! I'm a new subscriber. I've been out of bow hunting for years and ready to jump back in. What are your thoughts on the Legend Pro vs the new Legend XR?
Baer makes a great bow. I hate to say it but bow tech has reached a point where they are all essentially the same. I have 2 Baer bows and 3 pse bows. The pse levitate does not shoot any better than my pse stinger max. A little more fps 30 but that's it. Is 30fps worth 1600.00? Because that's the only difference. I bet if you put the levitate cams on the Stinger Max it would be the same bow. And the Stinger Max weighs less!!!! The whole point is don't get caught up in this whole marketing scheme. Buy what you can afford that you feel good about and just go shoot. Because it's practice that makes us better not bows.
My son & I are intending to get into decent bows. Wanted to this year but budget doesn't permit it. I was leaning Hoyt Torrex for me. But looking at all the various "youth" bows for him. The Legit or Mission comes up in most every video or conversation. I am using an older Martin Magnum. He is staying with crossbow this year. But dow you have a video of yours you would recommend that we watch? Appreciate the great approach, attitude and application you provide. Lord bless. Thanks.
Hoyt torrex is the next review we are doing, and Any of the reviews in the budget bow category are great for this year. Bear Alaskan was one of my favorites.
I actually emailed fred bear a few years back and asked them if it was possible to put that eko cam on the legit bow. And they emailed back saying no that it wasn't possible. 🤔
Curious on what draw cycle you like better between the Alaskan and the whitetail legend pro? Which one is smoother? Also wonder the speed of the legend pro if on 80% let off and 75% let off . Great review! Keep up the great work !
man I think both are surprisingly smooth, if I had to choose one it would be WLP but that is just preference. The let off does not affect the speed of an arrow in most cases, just manipulate the draw weight behavior in full draw. But I have had some vary a little.
I sure appreciate it I’ve been a Mathews fan for a long time and have a vxr but I’m thinking about getting the refine I’m tired of these high bow prices that’s what appeals to me with bear
@@billyirving3552 i have since bought a wh tail legend pro . love it . i think that the dealer was trying to sell me a different make of bow. he told me he sold hoyt
@@BackyardBows thanks! no whitetail legend pro by itself or a comparison against the Alaskan? Currently between the Alaskan and Whitetail Legend Pro, any tips or recommendations?
I wish bow manufactures made a mid priced bow that was strictly for adults rather then only making mid priced bow that try to accommodate for everyone 9 years old to 90 years old. Not everyone has the money to drop $1500 on a flag ship. The nice thing about flag ship bows is they feel like they are made for you rather then made for everyone.
I would say pse drive, Hoyt torrexx , bear archery Alaskan or Wlp are all directed for adult hunters, also we have a darton in the line up that is well priced
Some states have a let off hunting requirement, mostly just because each hunter has a different preference on what is comfortable, let’s say the bow has 70 pounds of draw weight and the let-off is 85%. This means you'll pull back 70 pounds but only have to hold 10.5 pounds of weight at full draw. Let-off allows you to comfortably hold and aim a compound bow while at full draw.
BS lol the grading is just for those who see things in numbers, my top five bows of the year aren’t the highest scoring by any means, and I would agree WTLP is a better performing bow, thanks for the comment
@@sjmedia_official is this another grading comparison? First the grading done in 2022 was diff all around that the grading done 2023 so hard to compare final numbers. Also the word better 🤔 I would say preferably I would choose the wtlp but that’s my opinion.

Don't know if you noticed, but the EKO cams are asymmetrical binary cams. The top cam is slightly larger than the bottom cam.

I would have to try myself to say for sure, I’m almost 100 percent sure they would

Legend looks like a Blackout Epic X2. I know Blackout is made by Bear, wonder if there is a difference besides 30 versus 32 axle to axle.
great review
Can you try to do a review on the bear refine Eko. Thanks
That’s the goal for the next bear bow 👌
I sure appreciate it I’ve been a Mathews fan for a long time and have a vxr but I’m thinking about getting the refine I’m tired of these high bow prices that’s what appeals to me with bear
Refine is still 999 so it’s up there for a flagship bow
I’ve found a bear refine for like 750$ in booneville Indiana I’m not giving msrp for anything lol
That’s a great deal I would grab that
I got the bear legit bow, I find it to be loud too but it will hopefully do the job this fall.
I think anything inside 40 yards, sound plays little to no affect, my personal experience
I bought some silencers and it helped with the sound some and less vibrating
Axion elevate pro stab/dampeners with bow Jax smoothes it out pretty good! I have front and rear stabs 12"-10" shoots great
I feel like in the beginning you mixed them up a bit
Do you know, can you get a limb stop for the Legit?
Are you able to mount a back stabilizer bar on this, or any other Bear Archery bow, that isn't coming off the front???
I know its an old question, but i'm positive the bear legit has a mount for a back bar. Currently have a 10" on front and 8" on back of mine.
Yes v bar hole for back on legit
What did u like better the alaskan or whitetail pro?
Alaskan personally
I just shot both at my bow shop and can’t articulate why but I hated the Whitetail Legend Pro and loved the Alaskan.
Also watch the cams when they draw . Legit is off center. Eko is more center to the Axle
That’s the only way they can reach such a long draw length is by that off shape cam
So is a budget bow anything that isn’t the flagship?
Ya just bows that are more affordable I usually categorize anything under 1000.00
i was told by a dealer that you could not put a drop away rest on the bow . any truth to that ?
I tested and reviewed it with a whisker biscuit so I can’t say for sure, but let me ask the person who won the giveaway we did.
He has a Hamskea trinity hunter pro on the whitetail Legend pro I am going to assume since they were virtually the same bow the legit could as well
I have a drop on mine
@@billyirving3552 i have since bought a wh tail legend pro . love it . i think that the dealer was trying to sell me a different make of bow. he told me he sold hoyt
The Hamskea trinity hunter pro works just fine on my legit. Just back it up a little so the whale tale doesn't hit the arrow shelf.
What release is that?
Spot hog wise guy w boa strap

Well then u have the whitetail legend pro lol
What letoff was this on?
Have you tried it on the 70%?!
85 percent and yes I usually try on least an greatest let off
