Hee, I was one of the lucky ones that saw the first Video Games Live in North America, I was really surprised Vancouver wound up being chosen, it's a really small city in the grand scheme of things ^^; That was an awesome concert, thanks for bringing back the memories ^_^
When the song First starts, it reminds me of the music they play while your walking around in Disneyland. the instrument choice and such. ^_^ makes me feel all happy inside.
this made me cry for some reason...maby its because when i played mario it gave me more joy in a play time of 1hour then 1year of the other part of my life.
This was filmed towards the back of the Hollywood Bowl. They are laughing because this is a piece that they actually recognize and are like "Cool." These are casual audience members. If you don't put out a lot of money, you too can sit with them. They are usually drunk, asleep or talking. Even better are the pot smokers who sit in the back. The bowl is casual listeners in the back, serious listeners in the front. Actually, drinking is a must for eveyone!!
I was being silly. Its the Hollywood Bowl, people always drink and talk there. Anyway, I was replying to the previous comment, they asked. LOL, I don't even know what VGL is. IS it classical music? I have only been to 3 non classical concerts. George Clinton DJ Shadow and Neil Diamond. Man, everyone was passing around joints at the Diamond one, just kidding, lol. Clintons daughter pulled out a massive joint on stage. Wow! At the House of Blues people were smoking out with DJ Shadow.
It's the same self satisfied arrangement of the super mario theme that every pops orchestra plays. It really sucks that all orchestras to play that way; it's hardly the definitive way to arrange super mario to orchestra. It's lacking.
it's good indeed but could have been better playing the same tune twice is unnecessary. even more if there is only one song in the middle. there's a lack of super mario world and super mario 64
The tempo's way too slow. They put too much focus in making it sound dynamic rather then the actual music. When all is said and done, Smashing-Live did a lot better job with these songs.
I attended the inaugural concert in 2005 at the Hollywood Bowl. Alas, it's not coming back to LA in 2018 or 2019. My son would love this.

Alot better than the Zelda one, people just like the Zelda one cause it sounds epic.
lol nice fact
Mario Caralho ? Isso é algum jogo que vão lançar agora ? xD
Video game elevator music...the apocalypse will soon follow.
Who the hell thought the woodblock was a good idea?!
8 bit music 4 eva . . . let the original be..
lol at 1:15 someone says "i should of gotten the food"
It is slow, yea, but who cares! Mario rules! Nostalgia, rightly, as one of them commented!
You fail at life. This isn't a normal concert. I don't think they'd expect people to be all hush hush when there's mario playing in the background..
/me DROOLS IN AMAZEMENT.
why are they laughing ?duh! they're in a orchestra concert.. they're killing the atmosphere
I guessing you've never been to a VGL concert before have you?
This totally PWNS. 1st music EVER to not need more cow bell. LOL.
Yeah but Jon Legazzomo as Luigi! Come on. LOL factor is like +10
The Play one in Toronto kicked so much ass. This one is so slow cause the Orchestra doesn't have the skill. The Toronto one ran at 135 bpm!
Should've been a cowbell...
I know how you feel mate but I am just 3 years younger than u
@GodliKeRem1X WTF?
because it's meant to be entertaining and to enjoy quality video game music while watching scenes of that game - without the "shhhh" 'n stuff...
Foi só ver sua pagina para ver o pq da sua resposta. Dor de cotovelo só pq o Sonic perdeu a "batalha" Mario vs Sonic. Que babaquice.

That was years ago. His movie sucked anyway. Nothing like the game itself. ^_^
