I've been wanting to change my keyboard, but the wave keyboard is just too massive! I haven't found a good-looking one yet, haha, but this one looks super cool! I really like it! Also, your video is so detailed, it's really helpful for me!

This keyboard is so cool! I've been wanting to get a split keyboard, but my current keyboard is really pretty, and I haven't found a split keyboard that matches my aesthetic. But this one, I want it! Thanks for the recommendation!😊❤🎉

Is there a way to make the spacebar longer so that it can replace fn key on bottom left

    • @Tech-Random
      @Tech-Random  19 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

2 ways you could do this: The easy way is to program the Fn key to type a space then basically have two space bars on the left side. Otherwise you could make a custom key cap that fits over both keys and have a long space bar, or just remove the Fn key switch and have a long cap that floats. Personally I use the Fn key a lot because this is a 60% keyboard so a lot of functions need to be mapped to macros, so I wouldn’t recommend removing it.

@@Tech-Random thanks for the reply . i would not like to have two space bars . i would like to move fn key to the right side so that left could be completely traditional for gaming and typing hence a longer spacebar which i have already done by switching question mark to a combo macro . whenever i try the keycap over to two keys method for some reason it gets stuck. what could be a solution for this ? im currently using fn default location for nocfree spacebar which doesnt make spacebar bigger but it does move spacebar slightly to the left which is perfect and has decent stabilization for its size but it would be nice to use a different key thats larger for typing which i do have but have issues with stabilization because of slight increase of length (because of traditional preference for gaming and because of smaller hands lol) which seems to be working ok but would like to know if theres a way use both keys or stabilizer for stabilization without it getting stuck .

It would be perfect if its 75% -- i do use the F keys -- been looking for that thing for years.

Thanks for your interest! Our NocFree Lite does offer F keys accessible by Fn key combinations. This layout aims to balance compactness with functionality. If you're open to experimenting with this configuration, you may find it also works well for you.

Is the keyboard that expensive because of the split feature? It seems like the only reason to buy it because the case is plastic and the switches are pretty standard. The split feature seems to be adding 100 dollars to the price and even more at msrp. Is the split feature really worth that much. Thanks, liked the video.

I’d say it depends on what you use your keyboard for and how much of your day is spent typing. I write code all day and it made a huge difference for me once I got used to the layout. I definitely don’t type faster but it is way more comfortable to keep my hands on my keyboard for long periods of time. I find myself actually using keyboard shortcuts instead of reaching for my mouse all the time. I think the kickstarter price is really good since the build quality is consistent with mechanical keyboards in the $125 price range and there are two pcbs with two microcontrollers and other pricey components. At MSRP I think it only makes sense if you are trying to improve your posture or relieve muscle tension from long typing sessions, or you play competitive FPS games and want the extra mouse space by using half the keyboard. Hopefully this helps you decide if this keyboard is a good fit for you!

Thank you for your thoughtful question! The split feature indeed adds to the cost for several reasons:
Custom Design: Many parts are uniquely designed and produced, as standard components don't fit our innovative shape.
Double Components: Essential parts like batteries are needed for both halves, effectively doubling the requirement.
Technical Cost: Beyond just splitting it, we've worked hard to ensure seamless interaction between the two halves, including low-latency wireless connectivity and coordinated lighting.
Production Scale: The smaller scale of split keyboard production means higher costs. However, compared to others in the market, like Kinesis or Dygma, our keyboard is competitively priced and feature-rich.

Why did we pursue this product despite the higher cost? We've experienced firsthand the significant positive effects on our bodies. Almost everyone who has tested our product agrees that it's hard to go back to traditional keyboards after experiencing the discomfort they cause - discomfort we unknowingly endured every day.
Many people spend a lot on treating discomfort each year, so investing in a product that can help avoid health risks from the start is worthwhile for many. We're proud to offer a product that can make such a significant difference.
Thanks again for your interest and question!

I would say this keyboard is not worth $200 as a matter of fact in the world of custom keyboards, its not even "premium". Its entirely plastic looks to be polycarbonate with a rlly short and thin case(you can tell because u can see the switches popping up under the keycaps). You can see when he turns the back around there is no case foam and I highly doubt there is any plate foam either. The mount is very standard and doesn't feature anything more desirable like a gasket mount(but that is mostly preference). Also the keycaps that come with the board are made of rlly cheap abs plastic that you'll find on boards 1/3 of the price such as the rk61 by royal kludge(which is extremely similar to this board) same with the switches. Generally speaking this keyboard is pretty unrevolutionary and what its advertised for working and your specific example of coding, it doesn't excel at that either considering its a 65% so its missing function keys.

Thank you for taking the time to observe our keyboard so closely and share your insights.
We fully understand your points regarding the intense competition in the custom keyboard market, especially concerning material. We've considered using aluminum housing and premium switches. In fact, we have completed the design for a "premium" version. However, our discussions with suppliers revealed that such designs for split keyboards would significantly increase costs. As an experienced keyboard enthusiast, your perspective is valuable, and we think that comparing our keyboard with other split keyboards in price and configuration might be more appropriate.
Our product primarily targets users who prioritize comfort and health but may not be aware of the advantages of split keyboards. While features like aluminum bodies are appealing and will give us marketing advantages, our focus has been on split design and pure wireless connectivity to make a more profound difference in people's physical health and working conditions.
We also pay attention to the appearance and quality of our product. The samples sent to reviewers are prototypes, and we intend to refine their aesthetics in the mass production stage. In two months, we'll send you a video of the new product so you can see the improvements.
Regarding the function keys, our keyboard uses Fn key combinations to access the F row, which many users, including myself, find beneficial in compact designs. Your feedback is invaluable, and based on it, we will consider offering products with a dedicated function row and luxury materials in our next iteration.
Once again, thank you for your candid feedback, which is crucial for our growth and improvement.

I just bought this and have used it for an hour.
How do you deal with the awkward r-shift, up-arrow, /
Typing linux directory names is super weird. Half the time i go to hit shift, i hit up arrow and erase what i was typing...

It took a bit to adjust to the layout but I haven’t really thought about it in months.

@@Tech-Random I tried to use Tap Dance to get rshift to do / on tap and shift on hold. That did not work. Timing was always way off. Then another user in the discord turned me on to using quantums. They are right in Vile. They worked great.
Made the original / key into delete.
Still think they got it wrong.

Why would you buy an ugly keyboard which has less functions than existing keyboards? It is too high as well, btw.

I completely understand your preference for ergo split keyboards. As someone who has been using various split keyboards for three years, I appreciate the diversity in this niche. However, I’ve noticed that many people are hesitant to try the more niche split models. Our goal is to offer a gateway for a wider audience to experience the benefits of split keyboards.
