      It's a tactic for gentrification.....the real Chinatown is in Flushing now ...

    Who wants to live there? It's the worst. It'll be the first to flood in the next hurricane, the car fumes are terrible, and it's the worst area geographically.

    So what is the crime rate there?
    Hell, I would feel safe living surrounded by armed police.

      The armed police would be there with or without closing the streets.

    Woooooooat?? It's 1 Police Plaza, HQ of our brave guys in blue, so what do you expect? They just protect themselves! Visit North Korea. They will show you what a police state is!

      @Enigmatism415 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This goes beyond protecting themselves. This is pure selfishness. They can fortify their building all they want, but this is an entire boulevard that they closed, and a very crucial one connecting Bowery to City Hall.

    I'd feel safe. I bet the crime in that area is super low. I wouldn't have a problem with it

      The crime would be low with or without shutting down the street. There are police everywhere.

    • @douglashoward4206

    If they won't reopen Park Row, then maybe their police plaza should move somewhere else, or they can fortify it. This isn't just shutting down a street, or even a few streets, it's shutting down a few streets AND a massive crucial artery connecting Bowery to City Hall.

    Just like London. No persecution. I watched this video on 1st November 2017. One day after a terrorist attack on your city.

    I love how people in the comment section say things like "go to x country to see a real police state" when police in the US respond to peaceful protest with military grade armaments and regularly violate human rights without serious repercussions...

    • @Steve-dd4hd
      @Steve-dd4hd 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      morgengabe1. A little bit different to being sentenced to 25 years re-education in a labour camp. The problem with people like you is that if you were ever the victim of REAL Police State human rights violations, that would be the last we heard of you. You would be so frightened of upsetting your Masters again, you would disappear into the ether. It is frightening that in a world where security is on heightened alert in every major city, there is a petulant child filming a police arrest like one never happened before. You get the security that your city's high profile deserves. Give the NYPD a fucking break and get back on your Xbox.
