looks amazing. and ignore the 'no shading' philistines. the high-end paintwork makes this line. they can go and buy mcfarlane crap.
that is to say, i hope you strengthen his shading for final.

@@kkownzor yeah i didn't phrase that very well. what i meant was he looks great but could do with slightly stronger shading. so far most of the line has had good, strong shading like the minis and i hope they don't deviate from that.
Old Jetpack was better.
i hope that that you will give him stronger shading on the final release. Otherwise he will look like your rogal dorn, very flat, boring and toyish.
Shading has long gone, the line keeps getting better though right? Keep buying everyone!
I don’t think these figures need shading. Not many premium action figures have it anyways, like Mafex or SH Figuarts. It’s not a quality drop, it just makes the figure not be hyper reliant on painted details that look weird at certain angles.
Great sculpt, but pretty flat shading. Hopefully it changes in the production model (though it usually doesn't).
That is the problem with moddlers especially mini ones. You guys keep on looking for shadings but on figures. You dont necessarily need it or its unnecessary because shadows is what shading is based on. So not really realistic if you have to put mini model style shadings all the time on larger figures. It can for some but its not necessary. But if you really need to do it. Do it yourself. This is a figure not a model.
@@vagabond4576 You’re right, it’s to simulate shadows, but to be more specific, it’s to simulate shadows from ambient light, not direct light (what they call ambient occlusion in the 3D graphics world).
Ambient shadows are omnipresent and are created by deep recesses. When you shrink down something from real world size to miniature size, the recesses are no longer deep enough to create ambient shadows, so shading or panel lining is used to simulate the effect. I’ve seen people argue that Hot Toys Iron Man figures don’t have recesses deep enough for realistic ambient shadows. If that’s the case for 1/6 scale figures, how do you think 1/18 scale would fare without shading?
