Your "upper leg" joints weren't moving because they are frozen, actually: there's not an enormous range of motion - for obvious reasons of the sculpt - but they are meant to pivot back a bit, I'm using that capability myself in how mine is posed (which is a stance that can balance without requiring the stand, though as you pointed out it was quite tricky finding just the right angle to pose the legs/upper body that would balance). Also the reason there's that hole going through the forward section of the fleshborer is because the "thumb" of the opposing hand can slot into it, if you have that hand grip around the section immediately forwards of the "magazine".
The Tyranid Termagaunt figure looks incredible. My issue here is that Space Marines will always be outnumbered by Tyranids and to be able to build an army for them fighting nids you need to buy them both of almost equivalent price but a way higher quantity of tyranids.
I hope Joytoy releases some of the smaller tyranid variants in bulk for lower prices for the sake of army building them. Especially Termagaunts and Hormagaunts.
TBH, the figure not being able to stand still is a problem of the McFarlane action figure too (the first one). I had to put one stand for each leg to make it stand still, otherwise it would just fall off continuously.

is the tail not able to bend? promo images look like they have some bend to it, probably with a bendy wire inside. and yeah it's a shame they can't stand on their own but just by their design, what with their small hooves and top heavy torso, they will really need a base to be displayed. awesome review as always!
The brain is an adreanal gland . You can put it on the original games workshop minature to increase some stats for yr unit .
