Which microphone you are using ?? while you sitting And talking in camera, the quality of that One seems absolutely fine. Is that any professional mic.??? BTW you are putting outstanding effort, thanks for help. Hreart
Sounds weird. iPhone should recognize the mic automatically and if you use the FiLMiC Pro app you can choose what mic you use and make sure the audio is really from this mic. I’ve never had any issues with the sound quality.
The mic is working by just plugging it in ? There is no App needed right? So you can just film and have better audio quality? Nice Video, I‘m gonna buy the DJI Osmo mobile 5 and the rode me-L
when i have my mic plugged into the iphone, and I try to play back a video i just recorded it won't play the sound. it plays it back in headphones mode because mic is attached. is there a way to fix this or do i have to unplug the mic before i can watch and hear a video on my iphone?
I don’t know if there’s a way to tweak the iPhone settings (propably not). I guess they designed the mic thinking everyone would use their headphones when recording and playing back the footage. It’s good practice to monitor the sound while recording but I agree it’s kind of annoying when you have to take out the mic to show the video to someone else.
@@VISUALTHIRST thanks no worries I did end up getting the osmo when I have my big wind muff on the shure mv88 and I try to position it forward it wigs out the gimbal a bit so I just try to keep it out straight. In case your curious lol 😂oh in landscape which I usually use.
@@VISUALTHIRST it’s good I was used to just vlogging on a gx7 so my biggest problem is slowing down and stopping to adjust it.

Thanks for very useful real world video. Would VideoMic Me-L work for filming indoor interview of 2 people from distance 2-3 meters or is it too far for this type of microphone?
Hi! Had to test this myself before answering you… Indoors the mic works very well from 2 meters and is fairly usable from 3 meters distance. Sounds way better than the phone mic for sure! Keep in mind that if the room echoes a lot, it affects your results. Sound is always better when recorded closer, that way you don't get as much reflected soundwaves in the recording 😉👍

@@VISUALTHIRST Thank you so much for your help and that you tested it yourself. 👍🏼👏🏼 Would you recommend to use extra ring clamp adapter to hold microphone or gimbal works fine when microphone is connected to the phone directly?
@ If you want to use the gimbal to it's full extent I suggest another mic solution. For vlogging or interviews where you don't need a lot of movement, this setup is fast and easy 👌
Thanks for a great review Jan, I am really looking for a solution to me prevent wind noise when shooting with my iPhone 12. From your review, the dead cat seems very effective.
@@VISUALTHIRST hey, yes I am exclusively shooting with the iPhone 12. For me, at least currently, I have little time to film and it’s a grab and go situation or sometimes filming if and when I have an opportunity and the phone is always there. How about you? I see you have at least two setups.
When there’s good light the iPhone 12 looks good and with this mic it’ll sound good too. Just note that you can’t use a case with the mic. Keeping the setup accessible is key! I’ve been testing many setups and usually end up mixing the footage from Lumix GH5, GoPro Hero9 and iPhone 12 Pro. Audio is very important and that’s why I have various mics also. Good luck with your channel! One tip: Try to look straight into the lens not the screen when filming yourself 😉
Best to use a hot shoe adaptor attached to gimbal with a clamp or removing the tripod attachment and replacing with a hot shoe! you can use a cordless mic or use a cord to connect mic to the phone.

Hi! I use the VideoMic NTG or Wireless GO II from Rode when I shoot talking head videos. Thanks! 😊
Seing this in 2024😊 thanks for the review 🎉
Hey, Jan! :) Thanks for video! Have you found best solution for this gimbal?
Hey Zane! I think a wireless mic would be the best solution with the gimbal if you need to film someone talking 😉
Interesting video and fun))
Can you use an extension cord to the 3.5mm plug to use it away from the phone? With cord in that case?
Really helpful. Thanks
Realy good video. I use it. Thanks
Thank you and you’re welcome 😊
How heavy is de Videomicme L? Maybe afects the payload of OM4
It’s quite light. Not a problem for the gimbal because you can just balance the phone slightly to the side.
The best audio was whatever mirrorless/dlsr camera you were talking into on the ground. What Mic set up was that ?? Nice video
Thank you! I was shooting with the LUMIX GH5 and the RØDE VideoMic NTG on the camera. That is a great microphone! 👍
I have the exact same set up. Although with the mic I get distortion and interfere noise unsure why or how to remove it

Yeah, plug & play! 😉👌 I use Filmic Pro app where you can also adjust the audio but works fine without any apps.

Thanks for the video!
You're welcome! Hope it was helpful! ☺️
Does this work with the OSMO Pocket 1?
The mic is for iPhone / iPad only and the gimbal you already have in the Osmo Pocket.
Greetings. It turns out with this microphone, dji does not turn as it should?
Yep, it’s tricky, like I show in the video 😅

Interesting video as I have the same gimbal. Does the mic not cause balancing issues for the gimbal or stress the motors?
The mic weighs almost nothing so no balancing issues 👌
@@VISUALTHIRST sorry, I meant to say with the deadcat/windshield on it, or is that super lightweight as well?
Light as a feather. The only inconvenience is the handling as shown in the video, but for vlogging or interviews I think it works fine 👍
great video are we still having the same issue with the dji Osmo 5
Thanks! Sorry I've been away for a while… I don't know about that, haven't tested.

You're welcome! I can highly recommend the VideoMic Me-L with the included dead cat for iPhone. The wind was really strong and cold that day 😅
@@VISUALTHIRST excellent, that’s great to hear, especially as I bought one off the back of your review! It should be on its way! 😊

Can you control the sound level on this mic?
Yes with an app like FiLMiC Pro but the native camera app on the iPhone doesn’t allow that.
Maybe you can try using to iphone the other way around when using the mic with a gimbal
It is very tricky… When you have the back lenses on the right-hand side the gimbal is on their way…

Haha 🥶 Thanks! I’m fine though 👍

I like how easy and fast it is to setup the VideoMic Me but I agree a wireless lavalier mic would be the best 👍
The gimble had nothing to do with the mic test but get in the way.
Sorry I've been away for a while… I just wanted to test all of them together.
im in a big problem...
Not so good audio
Certainly better than the phone mic. Also indoors you get far less echo with this kind of ”shotgun” mic design 😉
