I still use the Rode VideoMic Me with 3.5 headphone version with my Galaxy S10 Plus and there is no noise, the recording is quiet and works great every time. It's what I use for my close up videos. My far away videos I use the DJI MIC. The Rode usb C version is too noisy with a lot of background noise. I have S23 Ultra as my regular phone and use S10 Plus as my dedicated camera.
Thats really good to know and you probably totally right that using rthe 3.5mm jack is much more reliable. I have a NJSJ Standing mike too thst uses Type C but it also doesn thave the best sound. Thank you for your comments
One mic I had would misbehave because it was too close to my ring light. I ended up using a separate tripod for my phone to put a bit of distance between that and the light
Thanks for this - short and to the point with great examples! I just bought the Røde Me-C and then came here to watch this: My experience is the same as I hear in your material (though, no glitch... yet!). Voice recording becomes better and clearer than that of the mobile itself. Though, I find it picking up a lot more background noise both for inside and outside recording. I was expecting it to remove some of this - NOT to make the problem bigger! So, unfortunately not the game changer I was hoping for - I would need to remove background noise in editing to make it better quality. But, from what I hear in your video the Røde makes better sound than the lapel. The acoustics in the beginning of your video was not too good, and the Røde fixed this (but added background noise instead ;-). Thanks for sharing!
Yes absolutely right. I was hoping the dead mouse would help to reduce the ambient sound pic up but not as well as I would like. Post editing usually means it can be reduced but only with the right software.
I want something I can plug in in a hurry straight to my action camera instead of setting up my wireless set. This looks like the go. Thanks for the video.
@marcelontech I'll let you know. I started making fishing and Adventure motorbiking videos about a 18 months ago, so I am slowly getting the hang of it and figuring out what kit I need.
5:47 Hi! To all having Rode VideoMic ME... I also got those 0.5 second sound cuts on my recordings. Is it something common to all those products? I'm really thinking of file a complaint about this product...
This mic is useless for LOUD gigs, it can't handle loud audio, even if you use RodeReporter and set to minimum recording level it is simply to loud and distorts so the vids are totally unusable.

That's interesting. I assume that resolved the misbehaving?
Seems to stickout alot. Id like to see it installed with the .5 wide angle

Thanks. Very helpful......I'm going to choose the Saramonic blink 500 pro series.
Glad I could help!

Really pleased to read this mate. I hope it works for you

@@StuWNZ oh that's cool. Well if you are looking to mic up I can highly recommend the Lark M2 amzn.to/3Uf5jwT
Mine had static noise right out of the box with my iphone 15 PRO, very disappointed. Returning.
Yes that would be very annoying
Thinking of buying one of these, but my concern is, when you went outside. The timing of your vocals were out of sink a little.
Hello, Yes I didnt find this mic good enough to keep so have got the Lark M2. See my video th-cam.com/video/GZnLtRBw04U/w-d-xo.html

Might be a good idea if it's a common occurrence
you have not updated the firmware of the mic that why the glitches and out of sync issue
Good to know although the device back a long time ago
how to update the firmware?
Nice one. How good is the wind blocker when used in a windy situation, not that crazy windy, just like when you go to the beach?
It's good actually. It's called a dead cat the furry thing th as t goes on the mic. It does make a difference
Great video!, does it need an audio interface for high quality?, or is it integrated in the mic?
There is an independent app that comes along as a recorder but I didnt find it very useful at all. Overall the Mike was not as good as I hoped
@@marcelontech Was useless for loud Punk gigs, total distortion.
@JANER64 ALL that you have to do is turn the gain down in your video app. You can always add a few db back in post.
This video is so helpful & demonstrative
Really helpful video!
Please listen to 4:44 "out of context reviews" - had me in stitches but genuinely really helpful thank you 🤣🙌🙌
Great thank you, yes slight deviations perhaps 😄
Good video really helped me out
Thanks for your comment. Really pleased this helped.

Valid point.
Have u found a mic for loud audio gigs for iPhone 15 ?
@@masterpstamp6998 also looking for ext mic. But seems not much is out there.
Thinking about mv88 but it’s 5yrs old
Have a listen to your video. I think you will find that you have a lot of echo in your room!
Yes you are right. My sound proofing is not always very good!

Your lips aren’t even synced with the damn thing. Does this happen??? I mean my god. Your lips literally aren’t synced.
Indeed. Hence why that mike went back. Don't forget the inference.
