This is a fantastic series, I'm sorry more people haven't viewed it.
One thing that amazes me about Turner is the sheer amount of work and travel that he did in his lifetime, much by horse and coach.
A great depiction of a fascinating man - I thoroughly enjoyed the linking of history, military and industrial to his depictions, and the 'personification', almost, of the Temperaire. All so very interesting, thank you!

Having Tracy Emin on a programme about the artist Turner is quite funny, she couldn't paint a wall let alone do art, her unmade bed is a joke.
A prime example of the shallowness of so much conceptual art and the accompanying publicity machine

I don't understand why to use actors in documentary? They always look pale against the main theme's character...
Reenactments are typically a lazy and disastrous way of presenting historical accounts in a documentary. The key reason is money. Producers today are more inclined to use reenactments because they are cheaper than the cost and time needed for historical documentation. At least here it is tolerable, because it is used sparingly, and that is enough.

A mix of subjects that turns confusing. A bit of Turner, a bit of S. Schama and imitation of his style in Power Of Art....Nothing solid or quite congruous.
