Hi, I'm Tiptoe The "Hayfever" Tank, and welcome to my nasal era. This is a very special game/video. It follows the adventure that *my* Penitent One went on. How different was your experience? Was your Penitent One a nice dude, or was he hellfire in motion? Which ending did you get, and which was your favorite? It's also a set of games that is hard to timeline out and is open to interpretation on some points. Where does your opinion differ? Did you see the 4th Visage as a friend or foe? What do you think was the true motivation of The Witness? How did you interpret his storyline and the nature of his uncorrupted tongue? Stuff like that makes Blasphemous a unique experience. My Penitent One's thought processes may differ wildly from yours. This video also doesn't touch on several side characters in the games. If you liked this video, go buy the games!
I'd say avoid as many spoilers as possible, but don't be afraid to pull up a guide. I got hardcore lost a few times because the maps are so big in these games!
I love yout video. I hope you keep it up as we are going to get more stories in this amazing universe. Hopefully the DLC will focus on what happened to Crisanta-chan. xD I hope The Penitent One gets to help her come back from the other side of the dream (black gates) and she gets a chance at redemption. I think Mea Culpa is going to return, reborn of Crisanta's guilt and will to repent.
I just realized a theme between 1 and 2. In 1, the majority of saints were people who willingly sacrifice themselves and their devotion to the divine, as well as those most innocent who suffer for no reason. They are the ones held in most honor, while the ones who commited Blasphemy are buried and forgotten. But in 2, the majority of the "Saints" are people who must serve penance for their sins. Many of these people gave into hubris or committed a grave sin, which led to the Miracle to "bless" them through punishment: often by making them guardians of what they wish to keep buried, or act out the Miracle's will in its desperatation to create the High Wills' Successor.
Honestly, the first saints made less sense in a good way, as in it was a fresh take for a god to be as random and capricious, "rewarding" the faithful with abuse and pain. It makes the whole religion and it's adherence seem so much more alien. Punishing evil or sin makes sense and is something we can all understand and likely even support
... The only thing I could think of for what my blessing would be, would be when my best friend passed, and at his funeral, I begged him not to leave me alone. ... Imagining what that means in Blasphemous... My boss battle would probably be me, stitched to him, using his corpse as a flail and his coffin lid as a shield. And when I'd die I'd, like, gently place his body back in the coffin, before my stitches unravel me into nothing.
I'm sorry for your loss. I'm sure your friend finds comfort in the fact that you would bear him as your epic weapon. He must have truly been of legendary status.
That image is really awesome not gonna lie. Also, deepest condolences. That situation has to suck and I hope you found closure while also having good memories to hold
I love the personality of your Penitent One. They're a fiend for secrets, slashing every wall, sliding around to GET THERE quick, and doing the Teaback Bounce to see if they can drop down anywhere that looks feasible.
The way you incorporate the aspects of the actual gameplay into the lore to tell a complete story is seamless and cohesive. You've just made a new fan, ngl... Keep it up...💪🏿
So I was swiping away the notifications as they were coming to my phone and I swiped this and went "WAIT DID THAT SAY THE LADY OF THE LORE!?" And yes yes it did XD
You'd be surprised how many comments we got thinking it was a dolphin 😅 We'll need to update the watermark with the new logo. Or maybe leave it up for nostalgia.
@@Viryl_TV Personally, I think the old design was pretty iconic and instantly recognisable! The new version...well, a little bit generic in my opinion - no offense! Just my very personal preference^^

Yeah same here. I would love to read this as a comic or watch as an animated series. I really don't like the style of gameplay or even pixel art so I couldn't possibly play it and enjoy the experience as is
Yes!!!!! You are hands down one of my favorite narrators out there on TH-cam. As always love the content and can't wait to listen to this while I cook for old folks!

Man i really dont get get why you dont have millions of followers!!! You are very underrated imo. You have a incredible incredible voice and pitch, you make it so ease to to understand the stories by decluttering the timelines and you take time to explain the basics. The ways you tell the tales, its like when our parents used to read books to us wen we were kids! Like the grandpa in princess Bride! Anyways all this to say you are a great storyteller and you make 2 hours feel like 30 mins.
I've only recently discovered you. You deliver the material so incredibly well. Thank you so much for making this, and your other videos - they're excellent.
@@TiptoeTheTank Lisa: The Painful RPG is a heart- and gut-wrenching tale. It pulls no punches. I'd be up for a video on the Zeno Clash games (1, 2 and the prequel Clash: Artifacts of Chaos). The land known as Zenozoik has more lore to discover than some may suspect. It's not as extensive as Blasphemous, but no less fascinating to look into.
Thank you for this magnificent video. I used it to carve seal stamps. I love listening to videos like this while I do my carving. I remember I first found your channel looking for videos on SOMA, my all time favorite video game and I haven't been disappointed since. Love your channel.

As someone who just got into warframe I 2ed this. Though it would be a time consuming task given the amount of hours needed to sink into it to get the lore.
A cool game I think has interesting lore is Kingdom Hearts, I know it's a monster of a series but it does have a chronological timeline. First in the timeline is Union Cross, then Missing Link (once the game is out), then Dark Road, Birth by Sleep, KH 1 and Fragmentary Passage happen about the same time, the same is true for Chain of Memories and 368/2 days. Then we get KH 2, Re:Coded, Dream Drop Distance (My personal favorite, and finally in terms of most present game, KH 3.
Amazing narration as always, chapeau! 🙏😄 Do you plan on ever doing a video about a BG3 run? I know it would be crazy to try and narrate every possible path and outcome but I'd love to hear you tell the story of your particular run, expecially since in BG3 you can create your own character and it would be so cool to have an insight as to why they are making specific choices! Anyway great video! Keep up the amazing work ✨
I want to say yes, but I don't quite remember. The safest bet would be to bookmark and come back after you beat B2, it's definitely worth the playthrough spoiler free.

The Penitent one must have facepalmed so hard at the couple who prayed for the Miracle for a Child in the 2nd game.
@@TrajannValoris-om3qt true but then it did "try" to grant their prayer.
