Cinematic black bars, am I right? So cinematic. Some info on names/languages: ⚈In the Japanese version of this game, some of the characters go by different names. I generally kept with the English versions for the video. However, both elder Shimura and Yarikawa were referred to as Tokiasa Shimura/Yarikawain the English version of the game. I called Yarikawa "Tokiyori" as that was his name in the Japanese version. ⚈I referred to Chiyoko Sakai mostly as Lady Sakai to keep things simple. I couldn't find any in game references to Jin's uncle's (Lord Shimura) given name. I pronounced Jin's name with the English "i" sound rather than the Japanese "i" sound, because it sounded like I was calling him Gene/Jean. ⚈Mongol titles/name pronunciations were aided by music from The Hu. The Mongolian 'k' velar plosives (I'm not sure of it's exact naming) was beyond me, so I stuck with the English "k" sound. ⚈I've been learning Japanese for 4 months. Thanks for tolerating my first time actually communicating in Japanese being made into an ad.
Thanks for the Infos, never was aware that they made changes to the names Oo Still one of my favorite Games :) And getting a Lore Video about it from you is a real treat.
Amazing work as always It's fascinating how Tsushima itself responded to the game. Made the devs cultural ambassadors, and it even helped fund a shrine restoration
Stupidly underrated channel. Your narration, format, and chosen visuals are all incredible and you seem like an intellectual in general. Peace and prosperity to ya ✌🏾
This was a massive undertaking, Madam Lore. It must have taken so long to put it all together, gather the footage, write a script and then record. You are amazing
This game was a surprise for me. After quite some time I was able to connect with the story/characters any their development. Not to mention the beautiful world of Tsushima and Iki, also the movements in combat where soo clean, you can tell they worked a lot with experts in samurai sword wielding
something i dont see talked about much is that while jin abandoned the somewhat arbitrary, inflexible version of honor espoused by the samurai, he upheld is own personal honor code of defending those who cannot defend themselves. he's not without honor at all and i hope he (and hopefully others) see that in the sequel. also, i saw the shimura choice as less about Honor and more about who that moment was about; it was shimura who was defeated/possibly dying and his dying wish was to be taken out, it wasn't about jin's comfort or desires. that being said, i'm glad that apparently the spare ending is considered canon by SP
This game was a magnificent, cinematic art that deserved the game of the year over tlou2. It's still hauntingly beautiful and emotional. Thank you so much for making this.
Another weekend made thanks to the best storyteller out there. And that Patreon ad was absolutely beautiful, so much respect to you for speaking in a different language. You did amazing
*cues up video without looking at the length cuz I'm dumb* *sees someone mention the length in the comments* "Guess I know what I'm doing for my entire afternoon and I'm not even mad."
Jin Sakai’s legend will be told forever for generations to come, yet more than 300 years later, a new ghost would arise, Atsu, the Ghost of Yōtei, on a new adventure at the beginning of the Edo Period.
Man when I heard that Kage died riding into the night for Jin, I almost cried (again) cuz I named my horse kage. Man that was such a heartbreaking moment for me in game and personally.
Your style of storytelling, so empathetic and taking a deeper look at the subtext of people's feelings and actions, is just so refreshing. Such a huge fan ❤️. Thanks for doing this for us
Amazing video, narrated so well! I've played this games so many times but still I got tears in my eyes at your closing words. Truly beautiful game, beautiful story, and Jin is one of the best protagonist in video games ever. Also, now everytime I play it I'll have your "COME AT ME, BRO" quote as Jin runs head first to enemies XD
Thank you for posting these game story videos! I'm a gamer that suffers from simulation sickness, so a lot of these 3D games are inaccessible to me. I'd love to play them though. If not for you, I'd never get to experience them at all 💖
I killed the uncle since i believe he would be punished for failing to kill jin plus i love how he calls jin his son again before he died and i love the white paint
Ghost of Tsushima is just one of them games that every once in a while you have to hit New Game Start 💯, beat this game about 3 or 4 times, I really hope one day it gets a HBO series like TLOU
2:46:15 The Masako and Ishikawa sidequests had endings I didn't like. Hana's "I killed our whole family because you got the man I wanted" motive was dumb. And Jin and Ishikawa let Tomoe off easy.
1:35:04 Rather than a pacifist who doesn't go looking for a fight but is willing to fight if there's no other choice Hochi's the kind of coward Odin portrays Tyr as while impersonating him in God of War Ragnarok,
OMG. I've played thru this game 4 times and in English and Japanese in the b&w mode. I absolutely love this game and so happy you made a 5 hour video about it! Work instantly just got better tonight 🤌🤘

We appreciate the hard you put into this! Great job on the ad work too!
Thanks for breaking down one of the most beautiful and cinematic games I've ever played. Always appreciate your work in narrating @TiptoetheTank

I’ve never been happier than seeing a 5 hour Ghost of Tsushima video from one of my favourite TH-camrs

6:06 The side quest where Yuriko's dementia made her think Jin was Kazumasa was so sad.
Yeah, that one hit me hard.....
Amazing work as always

You and Gingy just casually dropping 3-5 hr game lore and story explained videos is awesome
"NIPPLES DEEP IN A FIGHT WITH MONGOLS" 💀💀💀🤣🤣🤣

This is literally my favorite game, glad to see a lore video on it by my favorite lore youtuber
shimura: you should never use terror as a weapon!
also shimura, a week ago: go break their spirits
sir how the fuck do you think spirits GET broken!?
@@QuestionableLifeChoices it makes sense. Shimura is a fool. Tsushima would have been doomed if not for Jin.
This channel is incredible
GOD DAMN TIPTOE OK GUESS THIS IS WHAT IM LISTENING TO WHILE IN THE OFFICE!
Man when I heard that Kage died riding into the night for Jin, I almost cried (again) cuz I named my horse kage. Man that was such a heartbreaking moment for me in game and personally.
Just wanna say, love your videos friend, they get me through the worst of days at work
Thank you for these long videos the feast will be great

Subbed. I like your format. Everything, visuals, narration, pacing, breakdown -- magnificent
Such a pretty game!!! Glad there's more lore to follow when I'm at work!
I chose the other ending option on my first playthrough and to say I wept would be an understatement.
5 hr GOT video from the Lady? Shieeet baby it's gon be a good Friday 😁😁
I can’t lie this game is the only game that has ever bought me to tears whilst playing and rewatching this
I really hope TLoL does the Metro series at one point. that would be an amazing video.
Oh I'm gonna sleep well tonight.
Then I will dream of Taka. And Nobu. And cry.

You, Tiptoe, are the best TH-cam-find I've done in a very long time. Very pleased I stumbled over your videos.
Omg omg omg I'm so excited. Time to keep this on while im at work
Watching that intermission now i really want Tiptoe to play Yakuza
Is it me or Lady Adachi's likes killing just a smidget too much
Maybe but given her situation it is understandable. What happened to her was bad.
God this deserves so much more views

That's some impressive Japanese Tip 👏
All hail, the Lady of the Lore
absolutely goated content
Wow, nice video. This is an amazing game.
Amazing video!
I really love the new format for the videos and you tell the stories just wonderfully ❤️
Thanks Tip for this gift
Alright the lore lady has returned!
ive picked up the game just recently and am like 50% through it. Thanks youtube algortihm and Thank ye, Lady of the Lore.
Mom! New lore!
Very well made
Today is a blessed day
Oh wow, congrats on the longie!
This brought me great joy watching this!!!
Yooo just clocked this story is a tragedy. Amazing video btw
It took 2 days but this was awesome.
Lady Masakos story always breaks my heart. 😭
Sweeeeeeet I've been excited for this one!!
I killed the uncle since i believe he would be punished for failing to kill jin plus i love how he calls jin his son again before he died and i love the white paint
I let Shimura live. There's been enough bloodshed, and someone had to lead the people of Tsushima.
I let him live because it proves that Jin is grown past the hypocritical "honor" of the samurai
4 hrs of Lady of Lore!? Count me in!
Fantastic watch 🫡👊🏿
Thank you 🙏,
A 5 hour video? Yeah!!!

You have a good voice.
Love this game
Hey guys where is the scene where jin sakai looks for his mother. I'm in act 3 and still haven't found that piece yet
That might be on the DLC island. The DLC focused a lot on Jin's family.
@@Viryl_TV thank you so much yeah I haven't done the iki island yet
Isn’t this technically a history lesson
Could you do legend of Zelda skyward sword plsss your someone I love watching and i think it’d be so cool ❤️
You'll be happy to hear that she wants to come back to the Zelda franchise soon with possibly Skyward Sword and Windwaker

Fear and Hunger video?
Ishikawa's an asshole but he's better than Lord "honour and a fair fight are more important than survival and the safety of innocents" Shimura.
Hey lady I have a request. Can you tell the lore of Five Nights at Freddy's?.
