This is definitely a Halloween treat, thank you! Even as a religious person, I always liked this game's story and art style and loved watching Markiplier play the trilogy.
You might know by now but creator is a christian! I'm not a very religious guy so I can't say it for other christians, but imo it's a very good example of christian media that's actually entertaining for non-religious people. Even though he was thrown into all of this out of guilt, John acted very selflessly and pushed through a very trying situation because of his faith, doing the right thing rather than the easy one, and the game gets this across in a very natural and humble way instead of the "see how we are better than secular people?" way lots of religious media seem to do, which made me sympathize with it a lot more. When John defeated the last demon, in the cutscene his cross becomes golden again, I just understood how strong people feel when they hold onto faith, and that's much more than I can say for a lot of other christian media i've seen. Amazing game.
Can we take a moment and talk about how brave John Ward is, despite being a human without any holy powers, and the only way to defend himself is to point his stick against demonic creatures? What makes John (The Blue Priest) such a brave character is unlike any other priest protagonist who spreads the word of god and fights a demon by performing an exorcism, his faith in himself and God slowly faded away after the Martin house incident. He was unsure what was real anymore and questioned his abilities if he could do this. His cross went from gold in the first game to bronze in the third, a clear sign of how much he's losing his faith throughout the games. He discovered that the Profran Sabbath ritual had been going on for 50 years with Miriam Bell causing the whole thing with the church, the cult had eyes everywhere on the town, and many complex buildings such as the birth clinic, hotel, and daycare were run by the cult, and John himself had a role in the ritual. Despite all that, he pressed on, interrupted the ritual, and stopped them from performing the Profane Sabbath with a little bit of faith.
what I like about this lore video compared to others is that it tries to connect some of the notes, events, and dialogues that were considered not "canon" or speculations that were tossed out by the dev because (I believe) they said was already too much for the narrative that they've planned. i.e. the twins, since the twins were planned to be in the game but were scrapped later. Well thought-out and fun to watch with your own flares.

Wendigoon did like a three hour long video on FAITH and I am SO thankful yours is a perfect, less than one hour video 😅 I love the ‘goon but damn, I have a life. I won’t ever play this game, having seen multiple videos on the game, it’s spoiled and I don’t believe the playstyle is really worth playing if you already know the story. I don't get how people mistaken them as the twins throughout the notes? I really feel like people believe a lot of things, before actually fact-checking it themselves before just going ahead of it. Now hopefully whomever sees this can actually get the true information!

First off there’s nothing that says she ever believed in Christ, secondly she worked at a clinic that was controlled by the cult, something she very likely knew of and was part of. And lastly John sealed her fate when he begged Satan to leave the house that evening.
