Is it possible to put one of these up without having it connected to a vehicle. Basically, just to use it as storage if camping with a pickup truck with a roof tent?
So the Vango Kela is still available to buy. Check the link below. www.attwoolls.co.uk/catalogsearch/result/?q=Kela There is a webbing strap at the top to take the slack but the tunnel depth should always been the same.
Generally they are pretty good in the wind and because the windout awning is locked in the cassette there is no strain on it. Each Driveaway awning may perform slightly differently depending on its design.
Will the low drive away version fit a berlingo 2013? It meets height criteria, can’t get dimension for length but it does have roof bars. Can you fit an awning rail if it doesn’t have one to accommodate the kador strip?
Katefleckle as long as you’ve got 250cm width on your van (a long the roof) then it will fit fine. A rail system would provide you with a stronger connection, so getting one fitted would be a good idea.
Well after showing my husband this video I think it will make things a lot easier next time when we put ours up Very informative video

@@greenbaron6822 you would be able to use it as a stand alone tent as it would be the same as if you were to Driveaway and leave it on the campsite.
Many thanks 👍
Great video...is this awning still available?.is the material that forms the tunnel into the motor home roll back if the space is too tight?

Is there a video of a camper actually driving away, and coming back withnthe bottle of milk, and then lining up and reattaching the awning?
Have a look at this video.

Awesome video. Thank you. How it is holding against wind?
The awning is great in the wind but the key is to make sure it is pitched correctly and that the guyropes are taught.
Four hours and a near divorce later trying to put one up in a wind. Wish we had seen this first.
Personally I wouldn't put the guild lines that far out ,There just wait for someone to trip over them.
