I got the 07 sedan S6 as my first car last year and oh what a car. Fell in love with it since i saw it for sale. I’m really glad to see it made it to the legends series! Absolutely adore it :)
Thanks @Auditography for this beautiful tribute to a unique car that has a very special place i my heart and our Pitstop V10 garage! ❤️🙏 You’ll have to come back and revisit when we’ve properly unleashed the Lamborghini engine in this car! 😬 Best Regards, Anton
In the US I believe we only got the sedan version. It's a rare and cool car. I imagine you can extract a lot of power from it but the transmission might not be too happy haha
@@christian_urocarwhat are they going to use in place? Electric is a pipe dream. Cars are evolving into unrepairable overpriced boxes of tech that can barely be tampered with. I'll stick with the classic big displacement gas engines.
So special and good looking car, even after all these years. Love that high revving NA V10. Dream about owning the S6 V10 sedan one day. Great video and beautiful scenes🤩
I don't understand why you have to say 'Lambo V10', when the BXA V10 in C6 S6 is developed mainly by audi itself from a 4.2 V8. I guess it 'sells' more if you say 'Lambo V10', some people even think that it is straight Lambo derived engine but it's not. BXA (S6) and BSM (S8 D3) are engines engineered and made by Audi, there are lots of differences compared to Lambos 5.0 and 5.2 V10 engines. But anyway, great and very good looking car this c6/4f, maybe one of the best looking longroofs from audi.
@Nyxie 🌸 I think we both were commenting this same 'Lambo-V10' thing in the S8 D3 video last year. I remember some commenters calling you 'hater'. I'm starting to think they know well these are Audi engines but just want to see if anyone starts a debate.
Unfortunately it's not a Lambo engine. In fact it has nothing in common at all. The 5.2 V10 is an AUDI own development just for the S6. On the other hand the RS6 5.0 V10 turbocharged is the engine from the Lambo. But for some unknown reason you can't have one in the US. I've heard it's because of emissions but that doesn't make much sense as you can own the Lambo with same engine.
Hi Michael, Just for your info I have a V10 S6 Avant, if the engine block is not the same from a Lambo why does the manifold from a Lambo directly bolt onto my engine and work? That truly is the only difference between the two cars. Audi remodelled the intake to fit under the S6 bonnet which also unfortunately restricted the power output as so did the exhaust system. See this S6 v10 intake conversion (which didn't end well because of different issues) this proves the block is identical to the lambo's engine. th-cam.com/video/gvxVNXLhry4/w-d-xo.html The colab during the v10 development between Audi and Lamborghini is a closely guarded secret for many obvious financial reasons.
not an Audi own development for the S6 but also the S8. The base block is the exact same as used for the Galardo. Difference is that Audi turned the 5 liter block into a 5.2l. Ofcourse there is a whole list of differences to make the engine better suitable for a family car.
Hey @Auditography, beautiful video as always. The C6 looks classy with its timeless design. Would you be able to share the wheel specs on this particular Audi? Thanks!
i actully look at this car and then i tried the 320 hp diesel engine bitdi as well. BITDI all the way it was pretty huge diffrence actully im not saying this car is not fast or anything but the bitdi insane machine
Such an awesome car! Sadly the V10 is known to be unreliable... Don't get fooled by the low prices people. This car can eat a lot of money if something on the engine goes wrong.
@@Auditography Thats true but too many buy this car for around 15.000 Euros thinking it is a cheap car which is practical and powerful. Yeah it is but then they don't have the money to maintain them and they end up in the junkyard... There was a white one sitting around where I live at an dealer. I hope wherever bought it treats it right.
The V10 is actually quite robust, I don’t know where you got that info. It’s basically the same V8 design Audi has been doing for years+2 cylinders. The weak point is the intake manifold, it’s not the same one the R8 or lambo use, or the rs6 . The intake manifold for the 5.2l S6/S8 made specifically for these cars ins made of magnesium , heats soaks quickly and has plastic intake flaps inside that over time(75-100k) deteriorate and can cause issues and some power loss, at that point you can either replace Manifold or do a flap delete , I believe you lose alittle bit of power with the latter. Other than that it’s pretty much maintenance and that the killer in terms of cost. Because you have to buy 2 filters ,10 of everything , 10l of oil, gas mpgs are like 10-15 around town and maybe 20 on the highway, so purchasing fuel more often, Also ordering parts , since some are specific, have to come from Germany. All in all if it’s maintained this car can easily do 250k. Mine is at 157k
@@christian_urocar As far as I know it is the sister engine of the V10 found in thr Lamborghini Gallardo. I got this info from diffrent german car channels which have to go over these engines pretty often. No big things, the block is robust as you said but enough small things that eat up a lot of money. Many people buy these cars as a cheap power house. About 14.000 Euros and you get a good one. But most repairs cost thousands of euros especially when you give the car directly to Audi. So most people sell them when they have trouble with the car. More cost then the car is worth. So unreliable is maybe the wrong word but cost intensive when something goes wrong and high cost maintance. As well it is hard to work on because this big engine doesn't give you a lot of space. Same thing with the b6 s4. 4.2 V8 which is a good reliable engine if the timing chain wouldn't be. Replacing it is hard because the whole engine needs to go out with the gearbox. Audi only does it for unreal high prices. About 9000 Euros they want for it. If you can't di it yourself or can't find someone who does it for less or even just wants to do it, those cars go for cheap to the next unlucky owner.
@@christian_urocar nice good to hear that I am owning a 2007 S8 I bought in 2014 with 75000km and now at about 87000. Have everything ready to decarbonize myself with walnut shell blaster and hope to find the flaps still in a good place before its to late. I got already the spacers sitting ready to stop the heat soaking from the engine to the inlet manifold. With little bit of luck I am still in time to stop the further detoration of the inlet manifold flaps. I can't imagine the challenge V10 with double turbo's.

it was never a lambo engine ;-) it was an Audi engine from R8 (from 2009), which lambo used for the facelift gallardo, to replace the old 5.0 liter

this is not a lambo engine this is an audi engine that lamborghini buys from audi.
I was expecting a lot faster than just 5.2 to 60
This is from almost 15 years ago, with a car over 2 tonnes and with no forced induction. Its very impressive.
Actually most of these can't do that stock. They are closer to 6 or just a bit under.
Did these bever come stateside? :( I'd trust that V10 over BMW's rubbish 10 any day
They never did
