I realize this channel is about horses, but I want to let you guys know we are also totally interested in your lives and the process of turning you new house into a home. Please don’t feel like you must stick to one specific niche… we will support you in all your endeavours 💕
Wow what a beautyful place you have found!
Yes yes yes Matt and Jesse we are here to support all of your journey together ❤️ ❤
Yes I am SO excited for house content, renovation, the stables, Everything!!
I'm totally here for some reno content! I can't wait to see it finished! 😂
Potato cellar -> fire place ❤
It really touched me when you said you will keep the owl house, because it is also his home! Please mind the swallowas too, they love to live in stables and they don't find a lot of places anymore.
Owls keep rodents in check ... wish you had more than one! 😊
The two of you are quite the example of how to live life and enjoy every day - I don't imagine that you can fully appreciate who you are yet, but when you get up there in age, I hope you realize how special each of your are as well as your relationship! You both have such a loving and respectful approach to the world - it's truly amazing. Living through one's twenties is an emotionally charged and difficult time of life, especially in today's complex technologically oriented existence. Thank you for sharing your journey with your therapist. It's important to have support and mentorship. For your ponies, can you get a few donkeys for protection as we do in the U.S.
And, llamas!
Guinea hens and geese are also useful animals for danger alert!
You two found paradise, very happy for you!
I’m so appreciative of your plans to honour the past in your restoration/renovation. Going to be fabulous!
I cannot wait to watch you get your teeth into this barn reno! No details will be too trivial for watchers like me! Whatever you have time to film. The challenges are obvious, as with any older structure, but I trust you will transform this property into a heavenly setting for you, the dogs, and for your current and future horses. Have fun!
One of the main reasons I was attracted to your channel was the interaction between the two of you. That makes the horse content more appealing to me. Now that you have this new property, I'm even more interested in seeing you developing it to your personal tastes. I'm hoping you include a lot of the on-going remodeling and building. It's all so interesting!
What a gem of a property! I am so, so happy for you two, your horses, and your pups! I love watching these videos. They give me great joy and hope. Please publish as much content on the restoration as you comfortably can!
It's always inspiring when people commit to preserving historical buildings. Congratulations on a gracious, wonderful, perfectly beautiful property. :)
Some people here in America, use donkeys to protect their livestock as a livestock guardian, or they use LGD livestock guardian dogs, maybe that would be an answer to protecting the horses and ponies from the possibility of wolves. Love the new place, congrats! Love the videos too!!
And the hunting chair is called a hunting tree stand.
Hunting chair is also almost the same translation from German "Jägersitz"
I'm most impressed that you are keeping and honoring the character of this beautiful property. I was afraid you would make it sleek and contemporary. That's what happens here in America when young people buy older properties. I'm looking forward to watching the outcome. Thank you for sharing.
This feels like "Chasing The Dream - Part II" ...😊❤❤❤
It occurs to me that most people would have robust, emotional & heated "discussions," with a hellava lot of knock-down-drag-out battles just trying to decorate a kitchen!!!
😱😳🥺
And here you guys are, taking on this massive project without any visible bruises!!! 😂
Remarkable!!! A tribute to your long-lasting friendship, love & respect for each other!!! ❤❤❤
What a beautiful property, even the barns would make a lovely rustic dwelling for someone. You've hit absolute gold this time, congratulations! ❤❤
A very large barn, which with renovations, alterations and your aesthetic sense, will welcome all your beloved furry friends, present and future. I'm sure that every aspect of their well-being will be carefully considered. The grounds are huge and surrounded by beautiful trees and woodland where you can go trail riding. What a delight! I agree with Jesse: no hunters!
I'd like to thank you both for this nice visit and hope to be able to follow the progress of this great project ✨✨😍👍👏✨✨💗
The Netherlands grow big and lush hedges. They’re everywhere in the videos. The barn is an old, old treasure. It’s got great bones!
I'm so ready for a farm renovation serie! 🙌😍
You have found a gem! You will thrive here!
You could mount a camera on the hunter’s chair (which is called a deer blind), to watch the wildlife.
I just enjoy peeking in on this new chapter for you both. I started watching for love of horses. I kept watching because I just enjoyed your content. You are such amazing people, and I wish you happiness always! Thank you for sharing! ❤
I would like to see a glass wall in your tack room with all the old tack on the wooden hooks and exposed wall. Amazing lighting, it would look so cool, love the way your trying to preserve the buildings
Love your content guys. With the wolf concern, maybe look into getting an Anatole Shepherd, or a great Pyrenees to guard your pastures. Of course you’ll have to have entryways they can go in and out of different pastures, but that’s easy to do make low open gateways for them. ❤
The intact history of the barn is fascinating. I grew up housing my horses in a post and beam barn built in about 1790 and the old features, like floors, doors, hayloft and haychutes , made it so meaningful. Congratulations on this property!
When you see people and their huge estates but you have zero care about what they have. Then you watch these two guys and you are rooting for them to get everything they ever desire. And I hope beyond hope @Jessedrent does not allow hunting. Its sick and vile in 2024. When you say you are going to keep it as authentic, as much as possible, that's awesome. The history makes the place. And we need a competition for the owl to have a name. I say call it Dream, , Dream thr owl as its your dream home and it already lives there.
I totally agree..poor birds they have little characters ,we had pheasants on our land in the uk..we loved watching them ,never allowed any shooting at them .
WOW, what a GEM!!!! Having that public access to the forest right off your property for riding is amazing. The buildings have great bones and you are going to do wonderful things with them -- this is going to be so interesting to watch and you're never going to want to or need to leave there. Congratulations on such a great find. :)
You might consider setting up game cameras for streaming at strategic spots. I bet you get a lot of interesting visitors at night.
That barn is going to love coming to life again and it is the most perfect property for you! I'm so glad you treasure the history and all the historical treasures that is still there! So excited to see this new adventure and journey come to fruition!❤ Congratulations!!
OMG access to trails!!!!!! What a fun dream property with tons of potential, and projects forever.
Hi Jesse and Matt. So happy for you both having found your dream home. Lots of potential. So much land. Your horses will be in grass heaven. Where will you build an indoor school? I would be concerned about rats, as the barn / stables will be attached to the house. Look forward to see the renovations with before and after pics. Look forward to updates about you both, the horses and dogs.
The land is amazing. You are in the right place at the right time.
I cant wait for your next year(s) content. It will be almost tailor made for my interest with the horses and the restoration of the original buildings. I'm MOST excited about the barn! So often people nowadays either don't take the time to do a proper restoration or would rather have a barn that looked like the barn concept that you had done for the other property which I feel is almost criminal. These gems need to be preserved. Also, I would love to see the old tack either restored and used if possible. Old doesn't mean bad and, just like the tools, they should be used for it's original purpose if possible. OR you could make some very cool shadow boxes (frames) and use them as decorations throughout the barn. All the original tile would be really neat in the new tack room as accent pieces as well.
Wow! The shadow boxes are a great idea!! Old farm equipment & old horse tack are valuable antiques!! It would be great to see them sprinkled around the barn/stable areas to showcase these rare & unique items!!!! Well done, an imaginative idea worth pursuing! 😃!!!
@ady1gilb thanks. When I was a kid I was really into them along with decoupage. That would also be really cool decorations if they found old newspapers or magazines.
It would be really nice to NAME the Estate when you are done, maybe like a combination of your names or something unique to the both of you, cant wait to see more longer videos of the transformation ❤❤❤
Oh. My. God. This property - especially the barn - is like a dream. You’ll have to come up with so many fun ways to display the tools and old tack! Have so much fun rejuvenating this place, and please share as much as you’re comfortable with, home and property design + horses and the two of you…. I am HOOKED
Have you considered purchasing a livestock guardian dog to live with Bear and Macho? Donkeys can also be effective at fighting off predators.
Wow! You have both worked so hard and are reaping the rewards. What a magical property, I know you will be amazing stewards of this historic home. Its like you were made for each other. Congratulations! Love from the UK
The property and prospective for it is so. beautiful, so excited to watch the journey and thanks dearly for sharing your lives with us ❤
Love that you are preserving the history! Can "feel" the vibe from here. Longer video plz, it's a lot to take in!
Oh man, I couldn’t be happier for you guys and your animals . What a wonderful place! This video is especially sweet because I can see your excitement and joy. Congratulations!
This is all very exciting! Congrats!
I am looking forward to seeing the development of this wonderful property. The horses are going to love the new property. Enjoy the journey!!
Absolutely amazing with so much potential and obviously a lot of work getting the property exactly as you guys want it. Remember that Rome wasn't build in a day so it will come down to prioritising which you will know what will need to be done in what order to house the horses and build the initial fenced off areas for them. I love the property as it's a developers dream. Lastly I wish you guys all the very best and a lifetime of happiness in establishing your lives and future together personally and with the wonderful property.
Wow what a gorgeous property So happy for you both, looking forward to seeing the development in the future. Congratulations 👏
Congratulations on your new home, this is an incredible property (luv the barn). The history , features and items left behind are simply amazing!😊❤️👏❤️ Looking forward to viewing your journey from many of us back here in Australia 🎂💐🙏🐎
Your new home/horse property is absolutely gorgeous and picture. Perfect. However what will really make it special is the two of you! You guys are a joy to watch and be on the journey with you. You should be so proud of yourselves! Keep up the good work guys. 🤩
Thank you for sharing your new project.
My husband and I have bought and renovated properties and share you joy.
Best wishes
It's really beautiful! One thing I have heard you talk about is but you must have thought about it.. You have so much land that you can grow your own hay! You can ad all the good herbs etc to the grass seeds and create your own "kruiden hooi" or regular hay
Aww congrats! So excited to see the Reno and the horses reactions to their new home eventually🤗Good luck with everything. Try to combine ideas if u have separate ones☺️
Awww your house and its surroundings ❤ I feel are going to be so beautiful, I am a modern contemporary person, however, I absolutely love your house, it really has a very, very special vibe to it, I can totally see why you chose it thank you for taking us on the tours of all the other prospective homes too, it was very interesting.
The English country look of your new home, is really really special, I can see that is your home for life with whatever targets you have in mind, I know it will be very special, just like you two..
I am so very very happy for you both, I get excited when I see your posts drop, keep them coming, can't wait ❤, I hope you have real good honest workmen.
The old owners were massively lucky you choose to buy and preserve some special things not all would be so sympathetic, so so happy and proud for you in all your future builds etc, you will be so tired, running back and forth in between, get yourselves a good project manager who listens to your tastes and requirements, if you are able, as it will really help you out..
Good luck 😊, please keep the wonderful videos coming ❤..p.s..
a beautiful orangey and a garden summerhouse, to match your house, would only enhance it ❤.
Best of luck, truly love it.X
How wonderful, you are keeping the history and making it your own. Can't wait to see the start of your new adventure and the continued journey.
Love you guys for respecting the ban owl. Excited to see the renovations. ❤
The whole barn is so cool and the original features and oddities add so much to the overall vibe
What an awesome property! Best wishes with your plans. Can’t wait to see the horses upon the land….the interior decor and the landscaping! I wonder if you can work a small cross country jumping course in around your property…lots of fun to unwind from an intense dressage session that way.
This is a very special property. Congratulations
So great, so happy for you! Looking forward to watching the progress.
Amazing property. Seems perfect for all your plans. Cant wait to watch the progress.
This is the most amazing property and I am so grateful that you two found it and are willing to share the journey of restoring it!
I think it's a great idea to turn the get ready area to leave the door open. It would make it very easy to pull the trailer (or horse van) up to the door to unload/load all your tack and easily load the horses from the get ready area :)
Wow super nice old barn. This is going to be so much fun fixing it up the way you want it. Can’t wait to see
Can't wait to see all the wonders you two will create here ❤ It will become a little paradise for both humans and animals ❤ Happy for you all 🥳
Great Pyrenees, Anatolian or some such guardian breed will watch over your horses, chickens and anything else it considers his/hers.
Outstanding! I can't wait to follow along as you create a spectacular home for yourselves and the horses!
Thx guys for making the video alittle bit longer this time!!!❤❤❤ Love the whole property!!!❤❤❤
I discovered this channel by accident, I think, and I fell in love right away. I'm extremely happy for you two, living your dream life to the fullest. I hope you're truly happy. You deserve it. Now I need to find my own Jesse ♥ Anyone? 😂
Sorry, but Jesse is one of a kind, he is an angel on earth 😇 You would be very, very lucky to find another like him. Best wishes in your search. 😊
@@chasingfences1302 I totally agree and I humbly accept the failure of the quest 😂
@@dingo.p 😂
I’m really looking forward to watching you boys turn what you’ve bought into a spectacular horse stables/event establishment. It looks amazing just as it is it’s also amazing what you can do with a little vision. Congratulations gentlemen I wish you nothing spectacular look not that you need it.
I’m so excited about following all this, I’m living a bit vicariously with it. I LOVE your property, the history, preservation and transformation of it is so exciting! Love you guys!
So excited for you guys! I can’t wait to see the renovation of the house and barns. I love your esthetic and I know you will make it workable for yourselves while keeping the antiquity of this beautiful estate. ❤️
What a lovely pair of guys you are really looking forward to your new journey in your new property beautiful lot of land look forward to the videos of your changing the place ❤
I love the new property it's going to be a labor of love. Good luck. 👋🏻❤️
Wow! How exciting! It’s a stunning property and you will be making it even more beautiful. Congratulations!
Very exciting! Congrats to you both!
Hi, ist is such a wonderful place 🥰.
We take Hukinol to protect our horses. It smells horrible and the wolfes don ´t like it. We fill it in little bottles on the fences, around the area😊👍.
What an incredible find!!! Totally perfect for you guys and the horses. Please share it all with us as we are all so interested in seeing how you progress with the changes.
That is a DREAM property🤩🤩🤩 I would love to live in a place like this with horses
Omg you two! Stable is fantastic! With your vision!!
i really hope you guys do reno videos! love your vision for this place.
Awesome absolutely stunning guys. If I may suggest getting some donkeys and Belgian Malanois dogs to help keep the wolves away. We use them here in South Africa to protect the sheep at night and they are amazing dogs. We have a problem with Jackals. Can't wait to follow your journey. Thanks for sharing this with us ❤❤
donkeys keep wolves away??
Ehh... the Belgian malinois is not a livestock guardian dog by origin, it is a shepherd and often used for police work. They are not independent guardians, but very human-oriented and also have a very high prey drive, which makes them unsuitable for livestock guarding most of the time. Plus it's need It's not a breed that can be outside all year long in the Netherlands!
Congratulations so excited for you new home and excited about all the videos that are coming
Omg so beautiful and exciting! I love that you're going to keep alot of the character of the place, while making it modern and gorgeous as l know you will! I can't wait to see!❤
Wow!!! Just Wow!!!
It couldn’t be any better!!! ❤
Thx for sharing this adventure with us. It's that place to be and I'm thrilled about that property everybody can dream of. All the best for your journey guys!
I just love it.. ❤ maybe frame some of the old tack and creat some interesting art pieces. 😉
Love it . I agree for multiple reasons to leave a big door access in barn near the house. If there was ever a fire or reason to deliver things with trucks or exit quickly or even just fresh air would make a nice breeze through.
I can imagine hedge jumps and an arena in your "Horse Park" It is a Beautiful Home! m Blessings! Fairwinds!
So happy for you both. I am looking forward to see how the stables (dale) comes out.
What is “Old Netherlands”?? Oh my gosh! Access to the public trails!!! Fabulous!
Access to trails is such a great feature!
You sure did find your forever home and property you hoped for! So happy for both of you with years ahead ...
Oof, I would’ve fainted if I’d done a showing for that property. It’s got so much space for you to make everything just right for the horses, but already has the setup in the house for you to get settled quickly. I’m so excited for you two!!!
Super amazing property guys! Wow! Love it.
Can you somehow put skylights into that roof to give you more daylight? I love old barns, this place is just gorgeous.
Very exciting!! I am looking forward to all of the new adventures!! It will be amazing! Thank you!!!
This place is amazing. Can’t wait to see what you do to that beautiful barn! ❤
The property is perfect. So excited for y’all and can’t wait to watch your progress. Congratulations Guys !!
I would not permit hunting there either as a stray bullet could hit the horses and you may enjoy watching the deer and let it be a sanctuary where they feel safe. It’s your property you don’t want people taking your pheasants or deer. It will be nice planning your equestrian centre I’m sure you will have a lot of fun and some great videos ahead for us all.🇦🇺🦘
Everybody has their own views on hunting and I respect that. However a deer population explodes quickly without hunting or enough natural predators. They bring ticks, deer flies and parasites, which can be a nuisance and even dangerous to horses. A controlled amount of hunting in good collaboration with local hunters is often a safe, mutually beneficial option.
An increased number of deer may also increase the risk of road (and riding) accidents in the area.
Amazing ❤
There is a saying: stay in the area (home/garden) with as little changes as possible FOR A YEAR - so you get a feeling of how the seasons (winter, spring, summer, fall) looks like and works - how is the springwater after winter flowing, where does it go, what tree/bush/plant is planted because of shadow or the plants preferences, fruit/other purposes - is it wise to change this or that just because you can?? and so on... because people have been living there for a very long time I am sure they have made many wise descisions that you will only see after a year. Be patient, my friends...
A great idea! I know they're anxious to start everything & get it finished so they can sit back & just enjoy it all, but the lawn & gardens near the house can maybe wait a little longer so they can clearly see the flowers & shrubs clearly! Then they'll know what they want to keep or add!!!😊
Been watching you for years since you flew Chase there from Australia. Love to watch you both move thru the changes in your lives.❤
So happy for you guys! As a civil engineer specializing in renovations, I'm excited to see the process with this property
Clocked so fast your new home is absolutely stunning
Historical property can be a challenge for everyone. Creativity on use can also allow plans to change based on limits. Personally, I would create the stables of your dreams & use the old barn for a guesthouse/office area & garage. Sometimes making something fit your needs is not as cost efficient & satisfying as what a new environment can provide. I have seen many people try to turn old into modern & get dissatisfied with outcomes.
You got the land go for it🤗
Agree completely! The old barn can be carefully designed for guest quarters, meeting rooms, catering kitchen, staff quarters…
A new stables can be designed to match the old aesthetic but have the modern amenities for the horses and their care.
Most likely they wouldn't be allowed to simply build a new stable building. The Netherlands is very strict with that, especially with such old properties, they have a special status.
it's beautiful! I'm sure you and your horses will be happy there. You could get a livestock gardian dog to protect the ponies.
I am so excited for you! Show every detail of the transformation please. It is horse related so don't worry about that
Excited to see the process! It is a very beautiful property, congratulations! 💛
