I am from Thailand. Honestly, Thailand is getting more expensive than before like accommodation, medical, utility bills, etc. Thailand used to be so popular among westerners back in the 90s to 20. But now things have changed.

Haha yeah traffic I’d say is the biggest downside. But it’s no major issue from what I experience :) I think it depends on where you are in Cambodia and what you’re doing and consuming. Comparing with Vietnam “overall” Local beer and is very cheep in Cambodia. Good accommodation is a little more pricey. Western food is a bit more expensive in Cambodia. If you look at cheap deals and restaurants Cambodia is very affordable. But as a “tourist” the prices can be 150% of what you would expect to pay. I don’t know if this makes sense 😅 I hope to make an episode about this. Of course I’ll be back in Cambodia. Probably before the end of the year 😊

The thing about Vietnam imo is the people at least in the big cities i found to be not that friendly compared to the rest of SEA, then you have the lack of English and if your a single guy dating there is a no no. But the country has some amazing nature and tasty food, also very affordable.

@@Chai_Travel Da Nang is a tourist city, I think the percentage of people who can communicate in English is much higher than other countries in Asia, for example Korea and Japan.
SEA is a good place to live when you're young and healthy as a Westerner, not when you are getting old !! All the good '' vibe '' things and the lifestyle portrayed in Asia are just '' hype ''; indeed, living costs are low, but life is much better in Western Europe !! I am a bi-racial French -Khmer, living in the US, and will never trade my lifestyle for living in Asia !!
Hi there, You've just made my point; those so called '' Retirees '' are still in '' healthy '' condition of their early retirement, but once healthy issues arises, they would go back to see '' Europa '' mother land to be taken care of, things that SEA cannot afford to do so. And my last point is that, most of Westerners who come to '' retire '' are in majority '' Male '' So we know that they are not coming only for the beauty of the landscape, the rich Culture or the cheap cost of living , but also for '' SEXUEL'' motives , hooking up with young local asian girls !!

Cambodia had to be charged Vietnam tax to import into Phnom Penh via Mekong ports in Vietnam. That’s why it cost more
