Yes, being classy is not the same as being rich. My husband and I are not rich but we make a comfortable living. I don’t buy luxury bags or shoes or clothing. But I do buy clothes that fit well, are timeless, and modest. I also sit and speak like a lady. I don’t slouch, and I walk with confidence. I speak kindly and respectfully to others. These are all things my parents taught me.
@@tinamartina1801 You’re clearly on the wrong channel, but that isn’t true. I can tell because you’re looking for excuses instead of applying Anna Bey’s teachings and seeing the changes happen.
I remember a colleague ranting because his wife secretly bought luxury bags. He's not mad about the expense. It's about her not disclosing it and being a desperate social climber. I heard they divorced.
The classiest people I know are empathetic, compassionate, unselfish and honor those around them. You definitely need to brag about your new doggy! 😆😍☺️Teddy is a precious Angel. ❤
Honestly Anna, you’re my biggest inspiration. When you started your TH-cam nobody was talking about old money or high society. Now; it’s trending like the plague. That says a lot. That you’re causing people to talk, to reflect, and to shift courses because it’s possible. Thank you so much, Anna, for emphasizing compassion as a major component of class. True class makes the world a better place. And warmest congratulations on your newest family member--Teddy is beyond adorable.
I worked for really old money families in Manhattan. The men were not around much, but the women were always extremely smart, kind, well rounded and well traveled, never wore anything with logos or flashy jewelry, many got blowouts and manicures but no polish, they walked everywhere on the UES (car and driver were to take the kids to school and classes) and did not brag. Example: instead of saying they were going to their mansion in the Hamptons , they would say “we are going out East for the weekend”. If someone is very flashy, braggy = new money.
If they're flashy it could mean they have a Leo rising 😉. (Like me) Seriously, I really try to live within my means. Example: I have a leopard print coat but it's not designer.😊
Very accurate. Understated elegance, subtle grace; courtesy and manners; a distinct penchant for archaism: all of these characteristics exemplify old money. Sadly they are declining at a precipitous pace due to social media & the loss of traditions 😔
I absolutely love this story about Queen Victoria. This classy behaviour was summed up by Jesus Christ, too. "Love your neighbor as yourself". Yes! Compassion is SO classy.Try and leave every interaction with the other person feeling valued.♥️🇨🇦
This was such a good video. I was brought up in Destin Florida and I’ve seen so many people with money. Money means nothing without kindness. I could care less who has what. Some of the wealthiest people in that town lived modestly but were genuine. Their were so many people faking rich and they were rude. Class has zero to do with money and handbags and things. Class is someone who in genuine and kind and caring.
A dog owner etiquette video would be great! Especially a video on hosting etiquette if you have a dog or other pet. I agree with everything you said, and I am happy you highlighted compassion. Compassion and gratitude often get left off the list, but for me, they say everything.
God YES PLEASE!! Gosh so many rule breakers are rampant! Can we talk about etiquette and rules involving service dogs ? People often treat our service dogs for their petting or taunting pleasure. It's so upsetting to see people being so disrespectful when we have put in so much hard work and time and resources into getting our dog legitimately certified and not just some where online where you can pay a fee and get "certified".
Agreed, some people treat pets like they’re children but we need to respect reality and remember they are actually animals and don’t need to go everywhere
A few things that come to mind before even watching the video: being rude, staring at people, gossiping, bullying, behaving like a narcissist, lacking empathy, lacking curiosity about the world and about learning and understanding new things. In terms of materialistic matters I think it comes down to hygiene, and being resourceful. Respect is a key word for class. Respect for your body, for other people, for nature, for your environment.
And - believe me when I tell you this - there are super wealthy people (more than you would imagine) who are miserable & typical every day people who are happy & secure in their loving families.
My grandmother taught us that ladies and gentlemen always try to make others feel comfortable in their presence. That includes ourselves and our own boundaries to maintain comfort for everyone
Healthy self - esteem means to regard yourself with respect, appreciation and awareness, which means you have bounderies, compassion and therefore class. One more point, to judge others on their appearance instead of character means lack of class too.
Anna, Teddy is darling! In addition to classy people being kind to animals. Classy pet owners do not assume that everyone wants to hold their pet. I have allergies, and therefore I love pets from a distance. 💖

Judgmental of others is also without class. You don't know what the other person is going through. Great video and yes, a person with the utmost class loves animals!

Class is all about how you treat other people, across the board. Making others feel comfortable when you interact with them. Going out of your way to be kind to someone who might need it. Maintaining your boundaries, but deflecting attacks on them with humor, perhaps. Lovely video, Anna. Good luck with the adorable Teddy!
Making people feel comfortable could be a sign of people pleasing attitude, no need for humor so you could be seen as nice. Class means healthy mindset which equals to be firm at times because being assertive is healthy. Reciprocity is also important to understand, you see people for what they are, not for what you want them to be. Demanding kindness or going over the board with kindness often means insecurity and not healthy self-esteem. Act apropriately in given situation, not going out of your way to be kind, because kind is something you either are or not, it doesn't have a scale as many seem to think.
@CD-lr4su I am not concerned about that reference in the least. Harry and Meghan are living and dying by their actions, not anyone's skin color. Harry's behavior was used as an example; I think they are peripheral to this channel and the points Anna is trying to make about our own outlook and behaviors and what they say about us.
@C D he spoke about he's experience after years of leaks from the Royal family to the British tabloids. At least harry came out spoke instead of using tabloids reporters to get he's message out. The Royals do indeed speak, they use the tabloids like the daily mail and telegraph to do that. So Anna saying the Royals cannot reply is false. They have been speaking/leaking stories about Harry and he's wife for years. Royals are dysfunctional. Nothing classy about them.
Hello Anna, I agree with the points you made. Generous people usually live longer and are happier, even if we don't have much there's always something we can give: kind words, a genuine compliment when appropriate... You said it all "Please" and "Thank you" are simple and yet powerful words. Displaying good manners and treating others with consideration and respect is a must no matter the social class or type of car we drive, that's possible for anyone! It reminded me a Bible advice "Do to others what you would like them to do to you" [Matthew 7:12]. Thank you for the video and for introducing us to the new member of the family :) xx
What I've learned in my own developmental journey is that class is really all about having integrity and elegance is about being your most authentic self. Neither work if you're coming from a performative space ❤
I got really impressed by the story of Queen Victoria. And you made my day with the explanation of "not accurate reconstruction"! You looked extinguishingly beautiful in this video. Thank for sharing all that!
My favorite quote is from the Ritz Carlton, "Ladies and Gentlemen serving Ladies and Gentlemen." Thank you Anna, for another wonderful video. Kisses to Teddy!
I’m so glad my family teach me manners at young age as everyone has said to my family that I’m kind, an angel & a star! I come from Asian & western culture I had discipline & my family are quite strict, traditional & religious. They teach me to be respectful, charitable, grateful & be myself even if people who don’t have manners & kindness so I would say I fit in having class😊 I really hate showing off so I’m always humble & donate often to charity people who need it more than me, I’ve been following you Anna for long time it’s been educational & is interesting also I learnt new things so thank you for sharing ❤
I used to think that even if you knew someone for a long time, you should stick by them. But she kept on displaying very uncomfortable behavior. Kept making me feel uncomfortable, and finally I had to cut ties. I did this in person, and as kindly as possible, but still. If hanging out with a person brings you down, and causes anxiety more than fun, you can cut ties no matter who the person is, or how long you've known them.
This was a great video, Anna! I always think people lack class when they never ask you single a question. I’m always asking folks questions because I’m genuinely interested in them. When someone is always talking about themselves it is such a turn off!
I've seen people do each and every one of these things my entire life. I recognized this behavior when I was young and knew what they were doing. A good reminder to evaluate myself and make sure I'm not doing any of them.
Yes Anna. ONCE AGAIN you have nailed it. Kindness and compassion are often seen by insicure peole as a form of weakness and lack of character. Nothing more wrong. Character comes out when needed. Basta. Your dog is too cute. Benvenuto!
You so melted my heart with your “Precious Dog”. I see your videos and I am grateful to hear all your advice. Thank you Ana Bey , for what you are doing for women. Inspiring and generous.
Interesting and informative as always. When I think about old money and class uniting in perfect harmony a picture of HM Queen Elizabeth II springs immediately to mind. She nailed it.
I’m a preschool teacher and for a part time job I’m a catering server. I come across a lot of classless wealthy people. They are so rude to us and when we are passing hors d’oeuvres like they can’t be bothered instead of just saying no thank you.
I love this video! I think every young person should have to watch it in school and write a personal response to each point. I believe etiquette and class should be taught at home but some reinforcement at school couldn’t hurt. Teddy is sooo cute! He’s growing so fast.
JESUS is the WAY, the TRUTH and the LIFE! Ladies as we upgrade in elegance, let us upgrade with JESUS CHRIST! Thanks Anna for the content your share.❤️
Tack för en fantastiskt bra och lärorik video.🙏 Jag ska erkänna att det var några av punkterna som jag verkligen behöver "ta tag" i. Man blir nog lätt lite blind för hur man själv beter sig i vissa situationer ......
Can I just say you picked the perfect name for Teddy! I immediately thought “teddy bear “ when I saw him! He is just so adorable- what a little blessing he must be!
Oh my goodness. Point #9 is so true. I have a friend who is a multimillionaire and the stingiest person you’ll ever meet. He’s a trust fund baby… so it’s not like he has to work hard all his life. But his stinginess even extends to his only child. I sometimes have to step in and call him out (nicely) on it. Telling him not to be “that man” lol.
@@anonymousnation5235 I think Anna would still have a lot of applicable knowledge and transferable skills, especially in regards to style and behaviour. I find myself becoming easily overwhelmed and anxious in a lot of social situations since having children, this might also be an area where Anna can share some advice.
OMG I have watched these videos for a bit now but Teddy put me over the edge to sub to this channel. He's adorable and you have every right to brag!! lol. That and there is a lot of good solid helpful advice here. I have always gravitated toward "classic style" even when it wasn't in vogue. So to now see it presented as "old money" and therefore people clamoring to adopt it, kinda makes me roll my eyes. Please don't do things bc you think they make you look superior. Do things bc you really love them and that goes for your personal style also. great video with solid practical advice.
Love these pointers! I have always been an observer and much more of a listener than a talker and recently went on a first date with a new fella and he refused to pay. That for me is a person who is tactless and has no class whatsoever. I personally dislike people who boast, talk endlessly, dislike animals and show no compassion or empathy. That for me is a person who lacks refinement and better to be alone than being with someone like that. Also, in my experience people are very good at putting up a pretence but their true colours eventually show and I always have the courage to walk out.

I really love this. Harry did us a favor. He demonstrated that just because you live in a very nice house doesn't mean you're not a shack inside. The thing about what a lot that you and others teach is basically how rich people get rich. You have to have wisdom and decorum. You have to know when to keep your mouth shut. How to say things. Those people end up with money. Like you said. Only certain kinds of people should have access to The trick is to be that kind of person. When you get there, what you need will come. I wish I were your age. Or younger even. I wish I'd been smart enough to pay attention to these things when I was growing up. But it's never too late. I like the old money style because it's not terribly pretentious. It looks good. Wears well. You get your money's worth. But it's not showy. Doesn't draw attention For the wrong reasons. And I do aspire. Thank you for making videos like this.
I would make this video mandatory for everyone to watch. I am so glad that so ,,powerfull,, woman like you shares also those kinds of values, that our society miss so often. ❤ great job Anna
I stopped following the channel a while back but this video is changing my mind. Great message about class being about how you behave. Showing kindness, having empathy, being compassionate. ❤
Great info! Many of those things are what I teach in "charm" classes for pre-teens. Having class and good manners will open more doors for you than money will. Also...your doggie is precious!
I love love your tip about confidence in yourself and not caring about impressing anyone. I am not always perfect, I choose what I wear, eat and do for myself and it does make me feel classy and confident.
I really Love when you tell virtuos things being classic and stylish, braging and being meen to animals is not class. You seem to be a really Good person ❤❤❤
It is true, it's hard to find genuine friends in this age where EVERYONE is connected and is friends with you on social media. Many assume true friendship from that, while also many more use that connection.
Omg, I'm almost positive this is the second time my eyes/ears may have tricked me but I could have sworn I heard/seen a "Kardashian Kough" if you will.....Absolutely perfect... Love that...sneaky cheeky!!
@C D Human beings are animals too, CD--do unto other humans as you would have them do unto you. Have a wonderful day, CD, and all of us who have the good fortune to watch Anna’s videos--and especially those who don’t !
I am new to your channel and I must say I am learning so much from you. It seems to me that having class is simply having a strong moral compass. It is doing unto others as you would have done to you. It is caring about people and exhibiting a genuine concern for the well being of others and of animals alike. It is knowing when to speak and when to hold your tongue. It is understanding that a soft response holds more weight than a loud or obnoxious one.
Anna, Teddy is ADORABLE!! I'm an animal lover in general but I confess I'm very partial to dogs of all kinds. Your points are so clear and so right. Thank you for another great video.
Loved it, especially “support others embarrassments” and “kind to animals”. I had never thought about those two things in relation to having class but both are so true.
Im glad Im good to saying thank you. Never complain or say anything negative. Only speak out to when someone is affecting you. I love your videos! Subscribed!
Oh my god, love your new family member and your videos. I am learning so much from each and every one of your videos, I am applying the knowledge with my job and my every day life. I feel good and confident. Thank you. Love you. Sincerely, Dianne Hebert from Portland Oregon
congratulations on Teddy! your happiness is infectious. it’s so wonderful to see where you are today. through all social situations, you are always in my mind, and i have benefited from you words for several years now. i thank you.
I did not like it when people assume they can just bring their animals to my house. They don't even ask first. I know some people treat their pets like children but I do not view their pets as children. And sadly now even though I would like them to come visit, I have to move them to my do not invite list because I do not want them to bring their animals to my house.
As much as I LOVE my pets and love to share their awesomeness, I agree that not asking before you bring your pet to someone’s house is totally rude and classless.
@@veemartian indeed! And, I would add, people who assume their partners are invited. I have had numerous occasions where I just wanted to have a catch-up with my female friends but one or more brings their partner without asking.

What I've learned in my own developmental journey is that class is really all about having integrity and elegance is about being your most authentic self. Neither work if you're coming from a performative space ❤
That's is it.
It’s also very much about treating everyone with great kindness.
The more I watch Anna the more I like her! I am 52 working in health and beauty industry. Anna is right on! Kudos to you, Anna! 🎉
You are such a wise woman, Anna. Yes, you have class, you are very smart, you know how to impress, but you are so much more than that ❤️
I’m so glad my family teach me manners at young age as everyone has said to my family that I’m kind, an angel & a star!
Honestly, the way the RF have handled the Meg Harry horrorshow has been such an example to me, especially Princess Catherine.
I love your point about Queen Victoria and compassion!
Elegant, classy and well educated - that's all about Anna. Thank you for sharing your wisdom ❤️
What a great video! And #10 is sooo important!!! People that are not kind to animals are just not kind people! That is one of the biggest 🚩🚩🚩
The old Anna is back! No more parading in freebee clothes but good information about demeanor and class! Thank you, stay on this track!
Interesting and informative as always. When I think about old money and class uniting in perfect harmony a picture of HM Queen Elizabeth II springs immediately to mind. She nailed it.
The editing, the subtle jokes, I love it
Also, it was absolutely worth watching till the end for Teddy 🥰 what a surprise
I’m a preschool teacher and for a part time job I’m a catering server. I come across a lot of classless wealthy people. They are so rude to us and when we are passing hors d’oeuvres like they can’t be bothered instead of just saying no thank you.
Absolutely agree with you. Gratitude is so important and humility. 👍🏻🌹
I love this video! I think every young person should have to watch it in school and write a personal response to each point. I believe etiquette and class should be taught at home but some reinforcement at school couldn’t hurt. Teddy is sooo cute! He’s growing so fast.
I’ve been following Anna for few years and I can say this is the most mature video so far regarding how to be classy. 👏👏
Wonderful words and advice about how to treat service people. Yes, compassion is everything!
Hi Anna, a video on elegance in motherhood would be appreciated. I feel like my style and elegance has really deteriorated since having children!
Same here and big time
Yes this would be very helpful ❤
I'm not sure anna should speak about motherhood as she's not the mother herself
@@anonymousnation5235 I think Anna would still have a lot of applicable knowledge and transferable skills, especially in regards to style and behaviour. I find myself becoming easily overwhelmed and anxious in a lot of social situations since having children, this might also be an area where Anna can share some advice.
She is not a mom yet though.
Welcome to the social class of respect.
Take notes before it's too late.
@@dr.christopherjohnson935 Hi Dr. Johnson, Thank you for your message. Yes, I am safe. I live in Canada but am from India. I wish for safety, peace and positivity as well :) Thank you, M
Anna, I can not thank you enough for how much I have learned from you ❤ love from The Netherlands 🇳🇱
Wat fijn dat we nog iets kunnen leren van russische vrouwen...Want haar moeder is een russische uit Estland...Anna is een echte russin wat uiterlijk betreft😍
I adore how you stated these. You have it all worded exactly right!
His father cheated on his wife and he's not considered a shack inside. At least Harry never cheated on Meghan
There has been said so much true in this video. However, can we just all pause for a while and appreciate how cute Ted is? ❤❤❤ 🐶
At the end, class is respect for yourself and for others .. and for animals of course 😻🐶💖
I would make this video mandatory for everyone to watch. I am so glad that so ,,powerfull,, woman like you shares also those kinds of values, that our society miss so often. ❤ great job Anna
Can u do a video for teenager / Gen z !how to be classy and elegant inside out.
It's very rare nowadays!!
Thank you Anna, you show not only how to be classy but also how to be a good person and I love that on this channel!
you could also call it dignity and self respect, great wisdom you are sharing, thank you
I really Love when you tell virtuos things being classic and stylish, braging and being meen to animals is not class. You seem to be a really Good person ❤❤❤
Teddy is so cute! Congratulations on the new family member.
It is true, it's hard to find genuine friends in this age where EVERYONE is connected and is friends with you on social media. Many assume true friendship from that, while also many more use that connection.
From this, I understood how classy my parents are, and how well they bought up me and my sister, as people with class. Feeling proud.🥰
Omg, I'm almost positive this is the second time my eyes/ears may have tricked me but I could have sworn I heard/seen a "Kardashian Kough" if you will.....Absolutely perfect... Love that...sneaky cheeky!!
Oh now you’re playing the Teddy card!
Sooo sweet.
YES--PEOPLE WITH CLASS ARE KIND TO ANIMALS! BRAVISSIMA ANNA!
Ohhhh….Teddy is adorable! What a precious little bundle of love. ❤
Loved it, especially “support others embarrassments” and “kind to animals”. I had never thought about those two things in relation to having class but both are so true.
Teddy is adorable, I love him.
Im glad Im good to saying thank you. Never complain or say anything negative. Only speak out to when someone is affecting you. I love your videos! Subscribed!
He is so Precious! How Sweet! LOVE LOVE LOVE your Puppy!
Compassion is class. Period! Thanks Anna.
TEDDY IS SO ADORABLE. pls have him in more videos!!!
A truly compassionate person ADOPTS a homeless pet from a shelter (as opposed to buying one from a breeder.
I sincerely enjoy you so much. You are such a lovely lady. Thank you for such good information.
Oh my god, love your new family member and your videos. I am learning so much from each and every one of your videos, I am applying the knowledge with my job and my every day life. I feel good and confident. Thank you. Love you. Sincerely, Dianne Hebert from Portland Oregon
I like the way you explain these. You are very straightforward. Thank you.
Anna Teddy is the cutest thing!
congratulations on Teddy! your happiness is infectious. it’s so wonderful to see where you are today. through all social situations, you are always in my mind, and i have benefited from you words for several years now. i thank you.
I did not like it when people assume they can just bring their animals to my house. They don't even ask first. I know some people treat their pets like children but I do not view their pets as children. And sadly now even though I would like them to come visit, I have to move them to my do not invite list because I do not want them to bring their animals to my house.
I agree!
Indeed.
even if they are like children, you still gotta ask if your children are welcomed by the host so it's not a good excuse
You remind me of my elegant grandma.. when you talk I feel like she’s giving me this message. Thank you for your content 💛 you’re my favorite TH-cam channel
I absolutely adore you and have so much respect for what you are a accomplishing here! Truly first class lady❤
Teddy is adorable! Thanks for introducing us to him.
Class has a lot to do with moral conduct & emotional maturity.
My dear Anna. This video is about true moral for a peaceful life. We love your videos for that reason.
You made some good points. You don't have to be rich or poor to have class. Also, your dog is so cute!
You are intelligent and elegant. Agree with this subject especially! Thank you!
Hello, Anna - Love this vid ❤️ Thank you for sharing! I especially liked the points you made about being compassionate and kindness to animals. Life’s too short and we need more of that in the world.
Anna Bey, you are a Goddess! Your videos are educational, inspirational and informative! Keep up the great work! You have one of the best channels on YT, for women.
Such great reminders. And might I add, observing others and their actions can also help us see what is elegant and what is not, for example seeing someone chew with their mouth open!
I love your new addition, just cute as a button.
