    I bought pocket 2 a month ago and I still couldn't find a reason to be disappointed. File sizes are quite large but it doesn't matter at all cause in post production you can reduce file size using editing softwears. Other than that It is an amazing equipment for creating videos. Built in Audio is like magic ! Also You can attach an external power-bank and record all day without worrying about the battery. Everywhere I go with that camera, people barely recognize it as a camera. It easily fit in pocket. I promise it will be your little robotic friend.

    I really appreciate this side by side comparison thank you. When I travel I bring my Panasonic GH4, DJI osmo pocket, and GoPro silver 4. Without fail I end up using the DJ osmo pocket the most. Even for my raw stills, the gimbal for smooth video, the ease of doing a hyperlapse or moving time lapse, and frankly it's unobtrusive size, it's become my go-to camera when I want to bring only one.

    That's a great comparison! I own a Sony ZV-1 and bought the Sony wireless mic kit for the cam. It get's attached to the flash-connector. So the cam can be set up on a gimbal perfectly without any issues. The audio is really good, when switched to -20dB. The only issue I had was the close angle. So I'll try to use a wide range lense, like you used in the video. Thanks for this hint. 👍👍

    A year and change later watching this and came to sing praise for the Pocket 2 .
    I love my Pocket 2 so much. It’s easily my favorite for vlogging with out of these.
    I do love the GoPro for certain things but the media mod on mine will sometimes record video with no sound at all which is so frustrating.
    The DJI OSMO is so Inconspicuous when you’re walking around too which I love.
    The audio is incredible and you can color correct this bad boy for really nice looking video.
    Last, the talking head shots are great on the OSMO, even after testing the new Action 2. It’s perfect when filming, perfect width and not a distorted weird angle which the new one does a little.

    You've sold me on the pocket 2! I've been using my Galaxy s21 with an Osmo 3 gimbal. Unfortunately the tracking app doesn't support android in 4k30, so using it without is actually quite cumbersome. Also without the app, it tends to lose celebration once in a while, so it takes a lot of fuss to get it going sometimes. Also the gimbal with my phone is quite heavy. It would be great to have a dedicated vlogging camera, so I'm going to give this ago. Thanks for the in depth!

You've made my day because a couple of months ago I had purchased DJI Pocket 2 after stressful research to prepare a TH-cam set for me. Believe me, it was my 1st purchase towards videography. And you've proved me correct. Still, I can suggest you something myself being an artist-designer. What I care about the most is the stability of the image. I don't want the camera to be shaking like the phone with a gimbal does sometimes. Not sure if DJI osmo is as stable as I've seen some unstable image from one of the vloggers recorded with this camera. It would be great if I could use something smaller when doing a city vlog.

  • @GabrielJaggernauth
    @GabrielJaggernauth ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thanks for this video. Under the circumstances, I have a fairly decent idea which cameras I will be using.
    I already own a Sony ZV1, and it works great for talking heads and situations where I need good audio and video (I do have a gimbal, but I don't use it for vlogs). It also helps when I want talking situations, so I swap between my lav and shotgun for shots facing me.
    I don't have a Pocket 2, but it's a great investment for b roll and cases where I need a smaller camera like the airport for inconspicuous moments (not illegal like security)
    I also have a GoPro but it's very situational, especially for action cam stuff.
    This video really put a lot of perspective on my vlog plans for 2023

I am really excited for the Pocket 3 or whatever they call it which expected to launch around November this year and there are chances that DJI might use the 1-inch sensor this time and people are also hoping for DJI to add WiFi & Bluetooth connected into the device itself and not as an attachment (like the Do-it-all handle) and maybe a larger screen. I have both Pocket 1 and 2, Insta360 ONE X2, ZV1, and GoPro Hero 10. My experience agrees that the Pocket (both versions) is the best all round camera here, but I would put the Hero 10 in 2nd place because of useful features, next the ZV1, and mostly for product shoots and the zoom, and the ONE X last. The 360 camera is worth having for some novel effects, but if I had to get rid of a camera it would be the first to go. I want to like the ZV1, but its lack of decent stabilization means that unless I have a gimbal with me, it struggles to get good footage in low light. The GoPro also struggles in low light, while the Pocket is a champion in the widest range of lighting conditions. Plus it does really good motionlapse and nightlapse. There is a reason why the Pocket always outsold the Action 1 by about 10 to 1 according to my local camera store. The Pocket works brilliantly for such a small camera.

      You have the mic at right angles to the stitch line. I can’t work out how you managed that, when it should sit in alignment and be hidden. Most odd 🤪
      You’d probably also only use it in single camera mode, for this style of vlogging in reality, given you’re only speaking to camera.

    I was a bit dissapointing that the mics weren't tested outside in the real world! It's relatively easy to get good audio inside where you don't have wind and background noise. Outside is a different world literally! I use a lavelier and separate recorder as none of my cameras take external mics then sync in editing. Amazing how useless built in mics are when confronted by Wind noise. All my phones are great with lavelier/ wind jammer cover though!

    This video is perfect! I have been wanting the DJI Pocket simply because it is so small to carry around and I think it is so cool that the camera rotates without you having to do it, but just the click of a button. I have been wanting to vlog for some time now and I personally do not like the Go-Pro for vlogging because it is to big and I never had a stabilizer. In addition to the DJI great benefits and it almost being top in all categories, I think if you are anxious about vlogging and don't want attention on you, I think it would be perfect!!! From seeing so many youtubers using the Sony I came to this video to see the difference between the two.

    Totally agree! I own the DJI Osmo Pocket Creator Bundle. Brillant bit of gear! You can film in public and due to its size and shape it does not look like a camera. I was filming and taking to the DJI and my friend stopped me thinking I was talking on the phone. I don't know about you, but talking on a phone and walking is considered every day, but walking and talking to a camera attracts side comments from passersby which ruins your footage. The DJI is unobtrusive and when I've filmed my kids at sports carnivals I blend into the crowd and don't embarrass my kids. Pls, the whole creator kit fits into a jacket - no need for camera bags. Why lug around a large DSLR, when the DJI Osmo Pocket packs heaps with ease and convenience! Thanks for the review - reaffirmed my buying decision!

      How is the quality for low/nite light??

  • @megaworldasia360
    @megaworldasia360 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    This: Everything has its use in the right circumstances. The best video quality for ground based footage comes from a real video camera, such as the Sony ax700. I do a lot of video filming in caves, I wouldn't even consider for 1 second using a go pro for that. Go pro's are great for footage outside, plenty of ambient light, and for moving footage (on a motorbike). I don't use the ax700 for filming off a motorbike. I have a 5D mk4 for stills photography. I never use it for video. Why? Because it's got no power zoom and I don't need to waste money on a gimbals. Extra gear I don't need when travelling. So to recap: real video cameras take the best video; real stills cameras are for the best quality stills; and gopros are for moving footage in good ambient light. Oh yeah, I'm going to upgrade from the mini 2 to the mini 3 for the drone stuff. Safe travels.

    • @envycreative
      @envycreative  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Out of all of them, the Sony ZV-1 (we think) has the best low-light while still giving good quality. We think this is because the Sony ZV-1 might have the largest sensor. The DJI Osmo Pocket 2 also does decent low light as an alternative. As for food reviews and Travel Vlogging, if you want everything in one, then the DJI Osmo Pocket 2 is a good choice, since you can get the creator's bundle and get a wireless mic, without having to get a separate one. But, if you don't mind getting a separate one, the Sony ZV-1 takes decent photos, in case you wanted photos to be an option when doing food reviews as well. The insta360 shoots 5.7k 360 video, but if you crop it down to about 90 degree FOV then the resolution gets divided in 4 or equivalent of one quadrant of 360 video. One quadrant of 5.7k video is 1.4k video which is slightly above 720p.
    Most of the crops you used seem closer to 70 degrees so definitely even less detail. Not defending it, just trying to explain how 5.7k video is achieved.
    If you choose single lens mode, the insta360 can only shoot 1440p at 150 degree FOV. Which kinda gives you a better idea of what resolution you're getting in a typical 16:9 video from the insta360. Its very wide and not even at 4K.

      Sorry that happened! We also picked up some magnetic ND filters for it and kept it in the "Pro" mode so we could make sure we had as much control over the image as possible.

    That was no fair wit the poor little Sony. You could vlog with a selfie stick and the Sony with active stabilization (OIS + EIS). Even you can use the Sony software to stabilize the footage with the gyroscope data from the file. From my point of view the ZV1 doesn't need a gimbal

    Zv1 would be perfect if its lens expanded from at least 20mm , 24mm is almost unusable and too tight for vloggers..
    If Zv2 adds 20mm in lower level then it will kill alot of vlogging cams for its size..

    • @envycreative

      We actually use a wide-angle lens for the Sony ZV-1 to get that wider field of view. You can check it out in our other video we made specifically about the Sony ZV-1: th-cam.com/video/F-lo_6Asn8Q/w-d-xo.html

    If you compare DJI Osmo pocket 2 with iPhone 13 pro for real estate videography with wide angle mode in low light condition which one is the best option ?

    • @envycreative
      @envycreative  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We would probably give it to the iPhone 13 Pro. We just got an iPhone 13 Pro Max for an upcoming video we will be doing and we are considering adding it to a second comparison video we will be doing soon. With the iPhone 13 Pro's new sensor for the ultra-wide lens, it gets even better low light. Thanks and feel free to let us know if you have any other questions!

    Insta360 and GoPro are for travel/adventure/action footage can’t compare to the Vlog/BRoll

    • @envycreative
      @envycreative  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, we wanted to test all-around cameras to compare them, since the GoPro and Insta360 sold attachments for "high-quality" audio. After our testing, we could definitely tell that they were meant for action cameras rather than all-around cameras. Thanks!

    I’m a new content creator and a eBay reseller since 98. I was blessed to be first to answer an ad on Offer Up for a New Pocket 2 Creator Kit for $80! I could do real well flipping it, but after seeing this video I think I need to keep it. I got if for less cost of buying a GoPro Media Mod for my Hero Black 5 & 7 and a Rode mic.
