Question of the Day 💡What Camera are you looking to buy for TH-cam? Let me know! ***** Check out my FAVORITE Camera for Beginners HERE ➡ amzn.to/3CrGuDx
*_i'm looking to get a canon dslr, not sure which one maybe the m50 but either that or a sony. l been using a canon elph510 & it was only intended to be a practice camera but l really love this camera! lt has ISO, WB, EXPOSURE, CONTRAST, SATURATION & so many other hidden features_*
@MR MARBLE They did a review of the the Fuji XS-10 and I think it’s a great camera, I think better bc it has interchangeable lenses. So, def check out that review!
Hey 👋 Omar! I have been using a Canon m50 with 22mm lens for my video podcast.???when I upgrade for 4K, what should I get??? Or should I just upgrade in post??? Also, I do have the iPhone 13pro but think the camera is a better use case because of larger sensor right? (Sorry for duplicate post, saw question pinned after).
We started our channel using our Google pixel phone and have learned so much slowly was able to upgrade to a pocket 2 mini and it's been great. For anyone out there it's not the camera that will make you a better TH-camr it's how you use what you have. Stay motivated you got this.
@@PowderHeight I have the newest Pixel 6 Pro was using the Pixel 4 5G. The audio actually is pretty good. Check out some of my videos and tell me what you think. Its not as good as a professional mic but not bad.
The best camera for beginners is anything they can afford, it's hard enough doing all the things that come with planning, scripting, filming, editing and uploading a video by yourself with no experience Adding a smiley face cause I meant it in a nice way and I do appreciate all that you guys on think media do for us :)
Yep I think for girls who has no background of photographer or videograph knowledge even we bought a beginner DSLR, it's hard to use for a green hand, cell phone is much light and easy to use!
Hi Guys, This is Prateek from Delhi, India 🇮🇳. I am Using iPhone XR with DJIOm4 gimbal, Rode mic , and a power bank, for a year now from the start. 4k @24fps shooting and Editing is smooth on this phone. I don’t have any editing laptop. So The best part is, my whole gear fits into my jacket and feels very light while trekking. Some drawbacks are you wouldn’t get blurry background and wide frames but I heard that can be done with latest iPhone 13. So I would suggest to any beginner buy an good phone with high storage options, a good mic, a tripod or gimbal and start recording because budgeting is also a key factor when you are new to content creation. Remember! Stories and presentation is important than heavy gear. My best wishes to all the dreamers starting out. 🤗
You guys never disappoint. I was looking for a good camera that does not have that auto shut off feature, and that has a clean hdmi out so I can use for live streaming....and here we are. I bought the Sony ZV-E10 using the link in the description. Thank you guys!
Can you plus a USB C Mic In to this camera? im looking at the Sony ZV-E10, i do a lot of Table Top Shooting & then forward facing live streams, id like to be able to hook a microphone up to it, i have the Blue Microphone with a USB/USBC thank you
I'm still using a 9 year old Sony RX100, and the 1080p video quality looks amazing! You can pick them up for around 100 bucks. Just record sound by putting your phone in your shirt pocket, sync up in iMovie, and you're good to go. Sure, you can buy a new camera and run 4K, but that means investing several hundred busks on the camera, and you may run into difficulties because your laptop cannot cope with 4k files, meaning you have to upgrade your laptop too, so you're now fronting perhaps 2,000 bucks, as a beginner. Far better to keep your current phone, your current laptop, and just get an RX100 for maybe 100 bucks, while you figure out the basics. Because if you jump into a ZV-E10, or whatever, you'll soon be wanting something better, and wishing you hadn't spent a lot of cash on a camera that experienced video makers would never choose to use themselves.
I think I used a Galaxy note. That was a few years ago, now iPhones are so much better. I still find myself sometimes using my iPhone for just quick clips and stuff
I took your advice and purchased the Sony ZV-E10 and absolute love it! I have been using it for livestreaming and working on my first videos now. A very big thanks to Omar & Nolan for the reviews and guides on the ZV-E10! Keep up the great work you guys do at Think Media!
@@AleArno9, IF your phone works and you like stay with it, however if you are wanting to step up your video and capabilities it is the one I recommend, gives you more options like Omar said.
Zv1 is the winner in my opinion. It packs a punch all in one versus the others where the kit lens is basically the equivalent to the ZV1 24-70mm and if you want more...then it isnt just $600 or $749...its hundreds of dollars more for the additional lenses and other accessories as well. So quality, and best bang for your buck is the ZV1 in my opinion. U can get the ZV1 and add the Ulanzi wide angle lens kit for $50, SmallRig Cage $29, Ulanzi M49 $18 light, Ulanzi Tripod $19 and Rode Micro $49 and here u have a beast without spending hundreds on another lens
well this didnt age well XD the m50 mark ii is at 730 with a kitlens etc. honestly that a digicam with a non changable lens even got into a video like this..... sad
For whatever reason, I'm a big fam of Omar. Dude's smooth, knowledgeable, a great speaker, and a greater teacher. No knock on anyone else (I love this channel, overall), but Omar's my guy!
The zv-1 has a few more cons you should consider: 1. It’s incredibly small. That sound like a plus but it means you will always be accidentally pressing buttons since there are a lot of features and buttons on this camera 2. It gets hot easily. The camera is prone to overheating in 90+ degree weather and that will shut down the camera. You can change a setting to avoid this to a certain extent but it’s still an issue. I have had to bring an a cooler with ice pads in it to make sure this doesn’t occur. 3. Poor battery life. Because the camera is small, it takes a tiny battery. I will go through 3-4 batteries in a day of shooting (possibly more because I’m always charging). I have missed shots because of this and it means a lot of extra time is consumed when shooting. The battery is also located underneath the camera where a stand or handheld stick would attach, so replacing the battery can take a few minutes since you’ll have to detach everything first. Also, that Ulanzi lens is a gimmick. It provides a wider angle but the glue will not hold to that lens with regular use, and once it falls off you’ll need to clean it very well before applying another sticker. I have not used it since the first time it came off because it was simply unreliable after that. For these reasons, I wouldn’t recommend this camera. Either increase your budget for the next model up in the Sony family (I’m looking at the 6600) or get the competing cannon.
Thanks for your feedback. I am from india and looking for a camera for all purposes , mainly video in both inside and outside environments . I have shortlised some as sony xv1 , sony xv-e10 , cannon m50 mark II , sony a600. What should i choose ? Should i wait more for another model? Any kind of suggestion is appreciated. Thanks
I sold my ZV-1 as I found it was too small, buttons, dials are so small my fingers were getting in the way and I was pressing the wrong buttons. It also cut off recording after a while. Picture and video quality were very nice but such a small camera, basically would suit a teenager.
For art tutorials/demo's you need to have continuous filming. No choice for stopping when you reached a time limit. As for creating a B roll using an alternative perspective ahhh... same long form required. Colour representation is also really important with art. The thought of learning colour grading has put me off starting.
I switched from a smart phone to a Canon M50 Mk1 and love it. Enough settings to make shooting good videos a breeze and yet simple to use. It stays cool and with the free Canon Webcam Utility software its a no brainer for me. I use mine as a zoom cam for live tutorials as well. 😃😃😎😎
I think it's not accurate to label those APS-C cameras "beginner cameras", and does not help marketing them sadly. Not everyone is doing studio videos or vlogging down the street. If I go on a 3 day high altitude hike in mountains, I'm definitely not bringing a Canon R5 with a gimbal. I just can't, it's too heavy and it wouldn't make the hike any fun. What I need is a camera that fits the usage and the best I can do is a light APS-C camera, such as my Canon M6. Does that mean I'm automatically a beginner? I think that gear is independent from skillset and they probably should be labeled "sub-1000$ cameras" instead :)
@Serendipity Bakery you can transfer the footage to your phone if you wish too, all the cameras presented here have wireless features to transfer footage to the phone or ipad
@Serendipity Bakery yep, you can get like an SD card reader for your phone. It plugs in and you put your SD card in and upload! I just found that out recently too.
Spot on.. These "beginners" words are used to market the products coz everyday new faces are entering into this TH-cam world who doesn't know much abt camera and gears... I have seen professionals with million subscribers.. Using MOBILE phn and A GOPRO for their videos... Gadgets are tools that helps to visualize ur concept ... Nothing more...
You know what, you're right! I used to shoot wedding with full frame and then after i realized why should i go full frame if apsc can do the same thing as well and not to mention the price is a lot cheaper. Clients doesn't care what camera you use, as long as you're doing well with image quality, product quality and service quality
If your not a beginner then you know the difference and don't need this video, if you are, this video can be helpful. Just because you feel inferior because the camera you use was called "beginner" from some rando on TH-cam doesn't mean it invalidates the description.
Watched a ton of Think Media videos back when the Sony ZV-1 came out. And the Sony ZV-1 is still a great camera for sure! It's nice and small that I can just whip out for pictures and even studio videos. I still use my iPhone as a B Cam cuz I love a no fuss type of camera. As you say, "Set It and Forget It!"
Great vid, based on Omar's vids I bought the ZV-E10, really fun. Omar, keep your eyes on the road man, I legit felt panic watching you drive and turn back to look at the m50 safety first bro
Thanks. This is the first video I’ve come across that really gives good consideration to Sony. Everyone else pushes the M50 mark ii, but I really like the look Sony gives.
Go Pro was really struggling with autofocus, instead of focusing on Nolan's face it was prioritizing the background. The iPhone 13 camera is impressive actually didn't expect the artificial bokeh to look that good, definitely an upgrade. Would love to see the tests of the cinematic mode as well. And most importantly how the iPhone handles low light situations or studio lights.
gopro doesn't have any autofocus. Action cams generally have such a short focal length that everything is in focus. I think the reason why he doesn't seem in focus is that the sharpness settings are too low. It could be cranked up in post.
I just don’t want to use my phone because it takes up too much space and if I would get rid of failed videos I’ve made, I wouldn’t be paying $2 extra for storage
So basically i use my iPhone 13 Pro or My Canon M50 ii but as you said 4k on the M50 ii is not great at all but i always have to upscale to 4k - but i also have a GoPro and a DJI OM action cam which i never use at all. But still are great in a pinch, and my preferred editing software is FCPX and Luma Fusion!!! Overall great upload my dude.. this information will definitely help out new creators!!
i love your channel so much, it is really insightful and it is so easy to actually get started by watching your guys' step by step guides. Thank you so much for that.
I have both the Sony ZV1 and the Sony ZV E10 and they both have their pluses and minuses. The ZV 1 for me is set to auto everything and I just turn it on and film. I've been getting really good quality shots and exposures doing it this way. I only shoot in 1080p as 4K files are way too big and my computer can't handle the processing. If you're doing TH-cam, you really can't tell the difference in quality. The only difference is if you zoom in, the quality is not as good then you have to shoot in 4K if you're going to zoom in a lot in post. The down side of the ZV1 is inability to change lenses. It's not a bad thing but you won't be able to zoom in great distances or get super close to objects. You can add the Ulanzi wide angle lens to it, but I don't like the idea of gluing something to a lens that I can't replace if it cause it to burnout the motor due to the weight. I finally got to use my Sony ZV E10 the other day and was happy with some of the shots. But, this camera needs to be used manually. Meaning, in order to get the shots that you want, you have to put it in manual mode and adjust for each shot to get the quality that you are looking for. A beginner camera...not really but one that will allow you to grow with many options in my opinion. I think the two biggest complaints of the ZV E10 are the lack of wide angle in Active Stabilization mode and the rolling shutter in 4K. As I said earlier I film in 1080p and may never see the rolling shutter, so that is not an issue for me. The wide angle and gaining a crop when I use Active Stabilization, was a problem. Not anymore. Ulanzi makes a wide angle lens for the ZV E10 that screws onto the kit lens of the ZV E10 and not have to glue it to the lens. (Ulanzi WL 3) Works really good but adds weight. The buttons on the ZV E10 on top are so much better that the ZV1. I hit the record button on the ZV E10 every time without an issue. On the ZV1 I would sometimes hit the mode button and think I'm recording. Plus, I would have to figure out if I changed any of the settings in the ZV1. I think it just depends on what you are looking for to make videos. Easy of use or possible artistic choices. I also have a Canon SL3 that has phenomenal color but I needed that extra stabilization, lower aperture lens that doesn't cost the same as a Sony ZV 1 for lower light situations, and longer recording times. As far as using a phone to film, I've done it and have gotten good videos from it, but I like that separation of a phone is just for calls and social media, and a camera is for taking great pictures and video for TH-cam. That's just me, though. The best camera depends on what you are going to use it for and if you want ease of use or options to grow.
@@mellm.3859 Unfortunately no it doesn't. You have to glue it on with double sided tape that they supply with the wide angle lens for the ZV 1. Hope that helps.
@@nikiwexulu2424 Unfortunately, I do not use a selfie stick so I do not know what to recommend. Ulanzi makes a combo mini tripod and selfie stick. Might want to start there. At least if the selfie stick part doesn't work out, you still would have a mini tripod to use. Hope this helps.
I heard “4K” about 100 times. 1080 is all you need. You can’t usually tell the difference and the file size is so much better to work with and store. You’re not doing right for beginners by making them believe they need 4K.
Are you sure bro. I am begner and want to grow my youtube channel I don't have much knowledge about camera and uts lenses .. Do you think 1080p videos are enough for youtubebers ?? Bcz I am gonna make indoor content like podcasts or interior design videos .. Is it worth buying 1080p camera ??? Bcz I don't even have much money to spend
Omar, thank you for sharing this informative video. I always appreciate your work. While I am not currently a TH-cam video creator, I am in the process of learning how. Thanks again. Press on.
Thank you for the update on best camera for beginners. I will be buying one very soon the Sony ZVE10. Can you also recommend a good computer/ laptop to go with a new camera especially when you will be using it to edit from it? Thank you
I was going to buy the Cannon M50 before I watched this video. Now I think I'm going to buy the Sony E10, even though they both look like great cameras. Cheers.
I have a couple of the Sonys and rely on them for a few reasons. Number one, their color seems to be brighter. Now pros will tell you that it’s over saturated, which may be true, but what people don’t realize is that the human eye always goes to what’s brightest first. So if I am making content for people to watch, that’s where I go. Number two, the lens on the point and shoots from Sony are all Zeiss glass which picks up a tremendous amount of detail. 3. Sonys auto focus and steady shot is pretty much unmatched. Take that even further with the OSS lens on the mirror less camera and that goes even further.
Good stuff. I love the Osmo Pocket as well. Great quality videos with a built-in amazing gimbal. The on-board sound is also pretty good, but I prefer a plug-in mic. And it's SUPER small! You can take it anywhere. For live-streaming, I still love the tried-and-true Sony a5100.
You gotta stop getting mad when people don't support you. Only the weak need that kinda validation. Please keep your channel growing and good luck to everyone.
The other cons of the Canon M50 MK1 is no clean HDMI and 30 min record limit. Also a lack of lens is a problem. All things I found out after buying it. I’m thinking of getting one of the Sony’s
Personally I would recommend a dji action 1. It's cheap and reliable and with an external mic it sounds great. It's light enough to put on a stick, it works on the rain and has great stabilization. For $250 you can afford to loose it. Phones are hard to use as they don't have a goof front screen and stabilization is not great. I also like the Nikon ZFc as it's cute and takes great video but stab is crap so its better for b roll
WOW! this is what turning on Think Media's post notifications feels like lol This video is very informative! I am actually thinking about getting a more simpler camera. would you guys mind making a video just showing different types of camera lens out there and how they work? Simply affordable. I am learning 🤣👈🏾
THE BEST breakdown on cameras for what I need. Thank you! I personally love Canon's color science but for them to not make the M50 4K compatible makes me think the Sony ZV-E10 is the buy for me. Appreciate the concise explanation without the 17-minute intro telling me what you're going to tell me. Awesome.
I can highly recommend the ZV-E10. It feels the most modern of any camera marketed for content creation. Especially suited to talking head, streaming, and vlogging due to its small size. USB-C is a must as we head into 2022... not sure what's taking other cameras so long on that!
@@ravana7149 The built-in stabilization is a bit wanting due to the fact that the Sony ZV-E10 has the same sensor as the Sony A series, BUT what the ZV-E10 has that those do not is a gyroscope that records data in your video, and what you actually should do is record without any stabilization and then put the video through Catalyst Browse (Sony free software) And the data from the gyroscope is amazing! Here is a video showcasing the difference, this is how I recommend using the camera. I own a ZV-E10 and its the best decision I have ever made. hope this helps th-cam.com/video/UXxEcfnxJo4/w-d-xo.html
@@ravana7149 stabilization while using an OSS lens (like the 16-50 kit lens you can buy it with) in "Standard" mode is pretty good if you're just walking around, not shaking anything too much. Turning it up to "Active" mode makes it more stable, but crops in the picture a little bit making it less convenient to walk around with, seeing as you'll probably be holding it at arms length hoping to get some background in your shot. If you're dead set on getting the best possible stabilization out of this camera I'm happy to say it can record gyro metadata for use in post-production stabilization programs such as Catalyst Browse, which work amazingly well frankly. Beyond that, I would recommend a GoPro or recent model iPhone for super-stabilized walk-around footage straight out-of-the-box.
@@ravana7149 4K 24fps recording is available with no crop in Standard stabilization mode- which is great news. 4K 24fps Recording is still available in Active stabilization mode, but with a hefty crop of 1.44x, meaning you're gonna be cropped in and lose almost half of your frame. If you're looking for a really wide shot with the highest resolution possible, your best bet would be to look into a late model GoPro or action camera, but if a blurry background is tantamount to your shot then I'd think this interchangeable-lens camera shooting at 4K 24fps in Standard stabilization mode would do just fine for walk-around vlogging. Note that the rolling shutter "jello" effect certainly acts up when shooting 4K if this camera moves too fast from side to side, like while running. If you're just walking though, and moving the camera minimal amounts, you should have a good experience with this camera at this price point, even shooting 4K.
I’m still using the M50 and it’s perfect. When I upgrade next, it’ll be the a7siii or iv. Otherwise the M50 and 1080p is just fine for TH-cam. Unless you’re a filmmaker. And I got my M50 from Canon’s refurbished store with the kite lens for $400. You can’t beat it.
I started creating videos on my iPhone 8 which I still own and upload videos with! As my channel grows I’ll will invest in purchasing a 📷. But for now as I learn about and grow my channel I shall just “press record”.
@@jacjac0102 Hi! I have the 64gb option and I have a 1TB external storage so I'm not too badly affected with the little storage. However, I currently only record in 1080p because of the limited storage. If you want to record your videos in 4k then I recommend the 256gb option.
I have the a7iv but looking at the e10 for a lighter option when in the theme parks vlogging, especially with the new wide lenses being released! Thanks for the info!
@@joanandIsrael So... Yes I got this camera to try it out but ended up returning it. The stability drove me nuts. Active has such a crop and still isn't great (I like Active Stabe on the a7iv much better) and catalyst browse wasn't reliable, some clips would still jitter and jump after being "smoothed". Quality was nice on a tripod but I'm looking to be handheld 99.9% of the time and it wasn't cutting it for me :) Hope that helps.
@@joanandIsrael Not really. I have the Sony rx100 vii that I like but wish it was wider and a little more stable. I prefer it to the zv1 still but I'm really hoping for a zv2 soon, maybe with a wider lens??? I end up using my iPhone a lot when I need smooth walking shots. I wish Sony could be as smooth as iPhones haha
Secret motivational message to small TH-camrs, do you know that Mr Beast the biggest TH-camr took 5 years to blow up on TH-cam ??...so never give up and give out your best all the time
I have all these cameras and use them in different situations. They are all great cameras but if you had to get one to start your TH-cam channel it should be the Sony Zv-E10 or The Canon M50 MKII if you have a hard time learning the tech.
Hi. I was confused between ZV1 and ZV E10. But finally I went for ZV1. The reason is I hate carrying or having extra things. Lenses, tripods, ND filters etc Because the ZV1 has everything inbuilt, so I went for the minimal setup sacrificing the better value of the ZV E10 My camera is on its way from Amazon. I hope I don't regret
@@sandeepmortal no one likes carrying more stuff. You have to ask yourself what do I need or want in this camera. I love the compact zv1 and how well the stabilization works. The 4k looks good! I also bought the ulanzi wide angle lens. Which makes it so useful when using as a studio cam. You will be happy with it.
@@CoffeeTalkandTechJohnRyan thank you so much for this. Yes, I am hoping I will like it. The Ulanzi wide lens, I will try it. And you are right, I will mostly be shooting indoors with me talking to the camera
The smartphone is a great way to get started. Since almost everyone has a smartphone you can add an external mic for $30 then prop your phone up on some books and get started. With this simple setup you’ll have the ability to record better quality videos than was really even possible when TH-cam first started. It’s a great time to start your own TH-cam channel.
@@JavanOnyango249 there are many choices that are reasonable in price. The main one I have experience with is from a company called AGD. I’ve been very satisfied with them. If you want to try something different and your phone has a headset jack just be sure the mic has a TRRS connector and if you have an iPhone you will also need a TRRS to Lightning adapter.
The only MAJORRRRRR problem is storage! Like I never have any storage on my phone and that is what “paralyzes” me more than anything. I have cloud storage too through the One Drive, but the One Drive takes up storage too. So for this reason, I think smartphones are definitely not ideal. They are super convenient, but they are definitely not practical after a while if you’re making 7-10 minute videos in 4K. Especially with all of the other stuff on your phone talking up space. And backing them up to the drive? Can take weeks to get them all without it messing up and having to start over.
My favorites - Lumix G85, Lumix G9, and LUMIX GH5 along with FUJI XS-10, all of the cheapest without crops in 4K like the Sony ZV-1 and E10, otherwise best alternative iPhone 12 Pro Max or iPhone 13
One of the biggest cons of GoPro is battery life and 20-minute recording limit. When you add it's virtually unusable indoors because of the noise in the picture, you are missing A LOT of important aspects in your "guide"
Yes, yes and yes. The number 1 con on the Gopro 10 is battery life. 20-minutes is all you get before having to change batteries and it takes a couple of hours to charge them, I am so glad you mentioned that because I was going to. So even if you have 4 batteries and are constantly charging you get 80 minutes but then the first battery hasn't charged fully.
I've been watching dozens of videos produced by you and your team... they always got a "like", a well-deserved one for their quality and what they bring us. Lots to be learnt, lots to use in our imaging real-life, etc. You get my point, I've always been more than happy and thankfull to watch your creations. Great job ! But this one is going to receive a "dislike", and I want to state it as clearly as can be. How can you drive while using a camera, turning your head toward the camera, talking to the camera, handling (or pointing at) the camera ? How, in someone's mind, is this even doable ? Haven't you had enough exemples of dramatic (litteraly, not figuratively) conclusions to such behaviours. I missed being killed twice while riding my bicycle downtown, once because the lady was "Thinking about something else and forgot to use [her] blinkers, sorry." and she suddenly changed direction without prior notice nor giving a crap about me, once because the guy was chatting with his passenger and while opening his drive-side door in the process throwing me flying over because I hit it full-speed and landed on the ground some 7 meters ahead. These two dumb persons could have killed me, and I owe being alive to 1) my protections (helmet, gloves, wide glasses, long-sleeve Ts) ; 2) my skills at falling (it's sometimes convenient being an MTB instructor, you can manage how to fall "better") ; 3) some luck. And my family can still consider me a legit member, my son included. But I would NOT like, for all the gold on Earth, to share the same road or street or avenue as you. You are a proper danger to the persons traveling your immediate space, or moving around your vehicle. And whatever type of car you may have, rules of Physics apply that will send to the morgue whichever bike rider or pedestrian gets hits by you at speeds above 30 km/h (convert this if necessary). It is IMPOSSIBLE to drive while self-filming (or vloging, if your prefer), period. And anyone with a proper expertise in driving/accidents/road safety will confirm this without a second of hesitation. And if you have anything to oppose to my explanations and examples, just think about any random guy acting the same way as your daughter (or wife or fiancée or whoever precious to you) crosses the street. Not watching the road ahead because he's fiddling and adjusting a camera, or anything else. Do you picture this, clearly ? How do you feel about it, fine ? Save lives : stop vloging in a vehicle while driving. Immediately. Merci.
If you had to choose between Sony ZVE-10 or Cannon Mark 50 and could only chose one to use for the rest of your life which would you choose? Also what is the next step up for these for creators who have bigger budgets and and are more tech and film savvy?
Most modern smartphones produce acceptable quality video for starting out provided you have decent light. Considering audio is most important, I would put any initial capital investment into audio equipment and lighting instead of a camera. Once you see some success or you are able to invest more into the venture, then look at upgrading your camera as long as it doesn't complicate your workflow too much.

Did you use another camera and make a comparison please?
Hope yo cameras is treating u ok. Any regrets? Pls share
How do you like it?
Can you plus a USB C Mic In to this camera? im looking at the Sony ZV-E10, i do a lot of Table Top Shooting & then forward facing live streams, id like to be able to hook a microphone up to it, i have the Blue Microphone with a USB/USBC thank you
Thanks!
Thank you! ❤️ We appreciate you so much!
Thanks for your input!
I filmed on a smartphone for a year before I ever started using cameras.
What was your setup?
I would like to know your setup too, please :)
I think I used a Galaxy note. That was a few years ago, now iPhones are so much better. I still find myself sometimes using my iPhone for just quick clips and stuff
@@OmegaGreedAK47 Thank you :)

I took your advice and purchased the Sony ZV-E10 and absolute love it! I have been using it for livestreaming and working on my first videos now. A very big thanks to Omar & Nolan for the reviews and guides on the ZV-E10! Keep up the great work you guys do at Think Media!
So, do you recommend it? I’m using my iPhone 11 right now
It’s my favorite camera!
Received the Sony ZVe10 as well loving it so far🤗👍🏽
@@AleArno9, IF your phone works and you like stay with it, however if you are wanting to step up your video and capabilities it is the one I recommend, gives you more options like Omar said.
Can we connect rode wireless go 2 mic with this camera
great video. decided on the sony. thanks
I just bought a DJI Osmo Pocket and I’m so happy with it! Having the live tracking is a life saver! Not bad for $200.
FINALLY a young man with BRAINS who talks in a way that beginners can comprehend. Way to go!!!
U can get the ZV1 and add the Ulanzi wide angle lens kit for $50, SmallRig Cage $29, Ulanzi M49 $18 light, Ulanzi Tripod $19 and Rode Micro $49 and here u have a beast without spending hundreds on another lens
well this didnt age well XD the m50 mark ii is at 730 with a kitlens etc. honestly that a digicam with a non changable lens even got into a video like this..... sad
I started out with a cheap smart phone and moved to the M50 and love the improvements it offers me at a reasonable cost.
Thanks 🙏 but what the name of that mirror in your smart phone?
For whatever reason, I'm a big fam of Omar. Dude's smooth, knowledgeable, a great speaker, and a greater teacher. No knock on anyone else (I love this channel, overall), but Omar's my guy!
The zv-1 has a few more cons you should consider:
1. It’s incredibly small. That sound like a plus but it means you will always be accidentally pressing buttons since there are a lot of features and buttons on this camera
Thanks
@@p-51 also try the canon m200 - it's great :)

Sony has greta colors!
What an adorable toddler! And thanks for the video blogging advice as well.

Thanks. This is the first video I’ve come across that really gives good consideration to Sony. Everyone else pushes the M50 mark ii, but I really like the look Sony gives.
thx for sharing, have a great weekend!
It could be cranked up in post.
thats because Iphones has Sony lenses inside haha
If you shooting in a low light situation, you definately need a portable light with SmallRig to hold it and other stuffs like a microphone together.
I just don’t want to use my phone because it takes up too much space and if I would get rid of failed videos I’ve made, I wouldn’t be paying $2 extra for storage
Omar, you are the best!!! Thank you so much for all you do!! You’re a ROCKSTAR!
Once my channel is picking up I'll definitely level up with the Sony ZV-E10. Thanks so much Omar & Nolan! That was pretty helpful 📸👍

@ Wicked Journey, is the Ulanzi wide angle lens for the Sony ZV1 able to screw on and off the camera like the wide angle lense for Sony EV10?
@@mellm.3859 Unfortunately no it doesn't. You have to glue it on with double sided tape that they supply with the wide angle lens for the ZV 1. Hope that helps.
@@wickedjourney yes, that's helpful thanks.
Thank u for that info. Which selfie stick will u recommend
Thanks sir
I heard “4K” about 100 times. 1080 is all you need. You can’t usually tell the difference and the file size is so much better to work with and store. You’re not doing right for beginners by making them believe they need 4K.

Super useful guide for vlogging. I took your advice when starting my travel vlogging. Thanks a bunch for all the helpful tips 🙏🎥

The other cons of the Canon M50 MK1 is no clean HDMI and 30 min record limit. Also a lack of lens is a problem. All things I found out after buying it. I’m thinking of getting one of the Sony’s
Amazing information! Just getting started for growing my real estate business
I also like the Nikon ZFc as it's cute and takes great video but stab is crap so its better for b roll
i just bought the Sony ZVE10 last week and I'm loving it.
WOW! this is what turning on Think Media's post notifications feels like lol This video is very informative! Awesome.
did you end up buying the zv-e10? what did you think? is it also good as a photo camera?
Great Video & Great in Depth Details about each Camera !!
I can highly recommend the ZV-E10. It feels the most modern of any camera marketed for content creation. Especially suited to talking head, streaming, and vlogging due to its small size. USB-C is a must as we head into 2022... not sure what's taking other cameras so long on that!
What’s the stabilization mate 🤔 while walking
@@ravana7149 The built-in stabilization is a bit wanting due to the fact that the Sony ZV-E10 has the same sensor as the Sony A series, BUT what the ZV-E10 has that those do not is a gyroscope that records data in your video, and what you actually should do is record without any stabilization and then put the video through Catalyst Browse (Sony free software) And the data from the gyroscope is amazing! Here is a video showcasing the difference, this is how I recommend using the camera. I own a ZV-E10 and its the best decision I have ever made. hope this helps
th-cam.com/video/UXxEcfnxJo4/w-d-xo.html
@@dylanmacintosh thanks mate. Does it record 4️⃣k in standard and active mode 🤔. I’d love to know this last question

@@joanandIsrael So... Yes I got this camera to try it out but ended up returning it. The stability drove me nuts.
Which is the best microphone I can use with my smartphone for instance tecno or even Samsung smartphone. Maybe if am using less expensive phones?

Merci.
dig your Persol glasses man!
Lol I'm just sitting here with my Logitech C920 and my HTC M9.
I want to upgrade, but I can't justify it given the content I make.
This is the video I was looking for … thanks !!!
