The imaginary chess thing is interesting. Back in high-school, when I was a wrestler, sometimes if I couldn't sleep, I'd have imaginary wrestling matches in my head. Eventually I got to the point where I could get so focused on it, I could almost see the match like it was some kind of lucid hypnogogia that had structure to it.

I used to do and Still do this as well I practice Martial Arts in General so I would visualise fighting opponents and I got so Good at it I sometimes struggle to tell the difference between that and real life that's how realistic it is for me.

I do that for my karate training.

I had it happen to me, i was at a position where i could stay inside for months (no work at the time) and so i started to lift. By the time that i came back into population, i gained 25kg of muscles and looked quite big compared to those around me. Bulking is key.

He said sometimes he'd forget the position in his head so he had to restart the game and play all the moves that were played in his head. Which is ridiculous to think about because he's blind folded and going against multiple opponents.

Herschel Walker Style Training will work if you put the effort in, but also the mental strength and will required to survive in prison and push yourself further than you thought possible will change your physique and it’s as simple as that, the mind will force the body to adapt to the New pressures put on it. Do as many press ups as you can and then rest 30 seconds and do as many as you and then rest another 30 seconds and continue in that manner and only rest 1 minute between different variations and hand placements and you’ll build more strength than most normal people will think possible, all it takes is a lockdown and a living room with a few chairs.

Performing first 4 reps of pistol squat and jumping 2 and 1st quarter meters. I am honestly impressed in how far I come, all I need is how I develop myself in using nature to opportunity.

*There is a reason why* as long as you do your even the most basic calisthenics exercises like push ups, pull ups, atg squats with full range of motion, explosively and till failure..... You will have optimal muscle growth/training stimulus.
And I will try and explain that reason as simply as I can using real life sports science findings that are undisputable.
The more times you can explosively rep a weight before failure the *lighter that weight is for you and thus the stronger you are and as a natty, the stronger you are the bigger you are.*
Now we humans have a limit to our relative strength, a limit which varies depending upon individuals but it's there.
So when you lift a percentage of your bodyweight with calisthenics exercises(even if that only allows you to lift no more than 50-60 percent of bodyweight in case of a properly executed push up), the more reps you can do before failure, the more muscle tissue you will have.
Because you won't be able to press 10 times your bodyweight, whatever angle you press at.
And this is because human beings have a set limit of contractile protein percentage per weight of muscle tissue.
So in order for your muscle to get stronger after a certain point, your muscles *will actually have to increase in size and weight.*
This is how muscles are built.
So you won't be able to do 10 minutes of non stop push ups (which is 600 reps btw) without adding a SHIT TON of muscle tissue to your pecs, triceps and front delts.
This is how and why prisoners build muscle without weights, guys in pen who have 20+ inch guns, they can do 10+ minutes of non stop push ups, I have seen this with my own eyes btw.
And basic push ups and pull ups and squats aren't the only thing you can do.
You can do one arm push ups, one arm one leg push ups, one arm pull ups, one leg squats and all the intermediate variations that will get you there (you can find those variations in great detail in either convict Conditioning 1 or naked warrior by Pavel tsatsouline).
You can do one arm push ups between two tables with a travel bag full of sand from your non pressing arm, same can be done with one arm pull ups and one legged squats.
I mean large 60-100litre travel bags are cheap and sand is free, so no need to buy expensive weight plates. They are a waste of money, just make 5kilo and 10kilo sand pouches by stuffing sand into polythene trash bags and ducttaping them up and those are your weight plates that you can stuff into the travel bag or take out.
Hell, do weighted push ups between two tables with a travel bag full of sand hanging from your dip belt (or just rig a personal dip belt with seat belt strap), do weighted pull ups like that.
As you can see there is really no limitation on the amount of weight you can use when you use sand.
      So get after it ffs.

I meditate for 10 mi utes to get in, then a bell rings. I stay in Meditation but I stand up and start shadow boxing in rythm with my breath. It’s amazing, I did it for over a hour once then my girl came in asking what was going on. I did not feel the time, it’s a different zone you’re entering while creating your own meditation practice.

It's interesting because I went through a phase where I loved to run, climb, then lift, and then I went through puberty and got really depressed with life. Didn't do crap for about a decade asitpertsins to physical training, but did plenty of blindfold chess and occasional mental math just for the fun of it. No strcuture. Now I am back into physical training. Get into running for endurance, and now speed. Now it's led to parkour and functional strength. Maybe I've had all of this, but it took a different form in my brain. Looking to combine my love for chess into my training. I've actually tried this before(pushups and planks before playing a move), but now I see that this is a thing. Thanks for the ideas and knowledge Mr. Bioneer! You're playing chess not checkers

You can get more out of your pushups if you go chest to the ground and arms fully locked out, it'll be tougher, and you won't be able to do as many pushups but it'll be more productive.
But great video, I'm very glad you included the Iron Samson shoutout. His story is fascinating, lifting up horses in battle, escaping prisons by breaking bars etc, another big fan of isometrics was Bruce Lee himself

Random question here- and I dont know if youve covered it yet on other videos:: But have you incorporated Yoga into your training? Ex Wrestler Diamond Dallas Page's "DDPYoga" is fantastic. Using "dynamic resistance", as though you are "moving thru' clay" and using imaginary weights whilsts performing the positions. It has been a superb benifit to me this year. Some of your bodyweight workouts I see you do reminded me of it,and i was just wondering if you knew of it. Again- brilliant brilliant content.

a strong core is enough, as you can see he can do planches with one hand, that is an enourmous amount of strenght in his core, and being flexible helps too. As a bulging disc patient, i can tell that planches, lateral planches, pelvic lifts, stiffs and its harder variations is enough to give you a six pack and mantain a strong core, healing the injury and preventing to get worse

Cool! In the past, I've been someone who has followed the standard teaching on bodybuilding and cardio. But I had a breakdown and high strain exercise fries my nervous system. So, I have been tweaking and working around what I can do. Here's what I am doing:
Full body bodybuilding routine of exercise selection, ie, deadlift, squat, DB bench press, lat pull down, military press, bent over DB row, DB incline press, cross-body hammer curl, tri (2 overheard and 1 kickback per rep), face pulls for rotator cuff and ab work (including lower abs).
I do one set of each for 45seconds. I wouldn't say 'all-out', but it is kind of influenced by Tabata and Crossfit style of working. I don't have a fixed rest period, but go again when I'm ready, which usually takes as long as it takes to set the next exercise up! If I go all out at the moment I would be burned out by 20-30 seconds possibly. I do each weight for 6 workouts before increasing the weight.
My deadlift, for example, went 22, 23, 25, 29 reps in the 45 seconds over the past four workouts. Here's what I'm noticing, my general energy levels are increasing and muscle size is increasing. What I really like about it is that by getting my heart rate up while lifting weights my fitness is increasing without doing cardio separately. I am also trying to keep my daily step count up, I am enjoying this so much and seeing so much gain with what feels like less effort than anytime I have worked out before, I can't see any reason to change what I'm doing.
My number one goal is not bigger muscles or to run a marathon but to enjoy life.

First of all, this is an amazing video and one I had been looking for elsewhere. I haven't watched any of Jax' stuff in awhile and I hadn't thought of looking there - shame on me. I have been spanning the net, further than my usual, to see where I can find more videos on the topic and I am glad to say I have found a couple of new (to me) channels that I'm interested in watching for the future.
Second, I don't want to sound weird but the current look is badass! It's somewhere between Stephen Strange and Frank Castle. It's unique to only you it seems. So, congrats on becoming your own (and the community) superhero! Which is a nice segueway into the possibility of covering The Punisher's training. I know this will cover military training and I don't think I've seen you cover that as much. So, to answer your question AND to throw you a challenge, I think this character would be perfect for you, this channel, and the community.
Awesome suspense scene at the end of the video. I won't spoil any of the gasps (or laughs) to those who've not seen this yet. Thanks for another amazing job.
P.S. Parts of my ACE PT Fitness Manual is covered in your Superfunctional Training book and I have been using it to understand the manual. Super-thanks!

Hello, during my whole life my chest has been the achiles heel of my physique, during quarantine I started gradually adding weight to my pushups, I got to press with 30 pounds On my back 13 reps x 3 sets, eventually I felt less and less pec activation so I began performing regular pushups and also began to increase the number of sets; overall this strategy has worked wonders for me, I guess my chest simply responds better to a higher number of sets, reps with "light weights" ; currently trying to do 10 sets of pushups with 5 pounds of my back!!
