I keep saying the same thing! We had so much fun in the 80's. I also saw Wham in concert in 1985 at Hollywood Park along with Chaka Kahn and Bananarama. Miss those times.

I still have this entire concert on VHS and Betamax and yes I'm giving away my age now, but I wouldn't change that for anything in the world. The 80's was an awesome time to be alive! 👌🏾🤗
Wham spent 10 days touring China in 1985. They were the first foreign pop music act to perform in China. Because China was communist (except for Hong Kong which was governed by England) Wham had to submit to the Chinese government their lyrics for approval, and they also had to agree not to say anything that would be considered political or indecent when they performed.
Did you notice the lyric change? Original lyric is my god I don't even know if I love you? Changed the word god for girl.that'll be Chinese government.

I love your smile when you listen to George , it is so infectious !!!! This was when Wham went to China and they were the first group allowed to play there , that guy that looked in a bad mood was one of the many military guards at the concert to make sure the people didn't dance and get too hyped up , although many of the younger people there did dance but i heard they were eventually told to stop . I love George too, everything he ever did was just awesome and I have never heard a bad song from him , ever . Thanks for such a wonderful reaction, loved your energy and that smile !!!!!
One thing that Wham was definitely not lacking was energy. You had to take fiddlestcking aerobic classes back in the 80s to keep up with them!!!!!
Aweee, I love him too! So much. I never get tired of watching his videos and listening to his music. He does a live version of this song in the mid 90s on his MTV unplugged special. You have to look it up because it is so much fun to watch him sing surrounded by his back up singers. This man was just beyond fabulous.

Oh I saw George on his C2C tour and boy he was a dancing machine !!!! I was lucky enough to catch 3 of his shows on that tour and each time when he unbuttoned that jacket you knew it was on, those hips , oh goodness those hips lol ... always good to see you around @BK in the comments , hope you are having a great start of the New Year !!

Loretta, what do we do now that our beautiful George has passed? I never had the chance to witness George live, But the thought of not ever having that chance to ever see him live really, really makes me so sad. Now I have to tell you how happy I got when I saw this pop up today. I love Wham! so much. At first I was bummed that you weren’t doing the official video, but then I remembered how amazing they were live and was glad to watch it again with you. The only downside is they never did my favorite part of the song live, and you didn’t get to see George and Andrew spinning together, which was one of their signature moves. They were just so good together.
I agree, it makes me sad whenever I stop to think about the fact that George is gone. I remember where I was when I heard the news, and how I cried in a McDonald’s while my friend tried to console me. His energy was just so bright. I would love to see you react to Wham’s last video “Edge of Heaven.” It was their goodbye to the fans right before they broke up, and they’re just having a blast performing together for the last time. Such a fun and upbeat song. Anyway, thanks for making my day with this!

I saw him in concert. What a fabulous live performer he was. His 25 live world tour is available on DVD and perhaps somewhere on TH-cam. It’s a Long concert filmed at Wembley and it’s freaking fantastic. He toured in 2007 through 2010 I believe. The energy he had on stage was incomparable. All he had was himself and his backup vocalists. You absolutely half to buy that DVD or look it up somehow. You will watch it over and over again. I just subscribed. I absolutely adore your reaction to George.

this song was stuck in my head a few hours ago and its making me sad for some reason. i believe it’s because it makes me think of some friends in my freshman year, and how life was so simple for me back then. but i got betrayed by almost everyone there for telling only lies so i kinda deserve it.
I remember Foxy Brown sampling this for her song "I Can't" (feat Total) back in 1999. I think you'd enjoy that as well.
The historic point being Wham! was the first Western (UK) pop act to perform in China (in 1985), after 18 months of negotiations, when the pair were only 22 years old. They beat UK group Queen to this landmark as Q. was considered too risque by the Chinese authorities. Michael revisited performing the song in later years, as seen on MTV's Unplugged and The Michael Parkinson Show, both available on YT.

I really wish there would be a reaction to this song without the video and just listening to words. We're so distracted by George's gorgeousness, hair, stage presence, and dance moves, that we tend not to listen to the lyrics. That is an angry song layered in a great vibe and groove.
